Chapter 9 Livestock Farms and Coal
Chapter 9 Livestock Farms and Coal
"I, Eris Wayne, swear by the souls of my dead, if I fail to do this, may I be reborn as cattle or sheep, never to be reincarnated again!"
The blue fire skull's angry voice echoed through the dark forest.
Although it lacks vocal cords and other organs that can produce sound, its presence undoubtedly casts a deep chill over the forest.
"Let's renovate this place first; this will be my headquarters from now on."
"My Palace of the Dead, Eris Wayne, will rise in this forest, and I shall become the king of this land of the dead."
The blue fire skeleton placed the crystal ball on the ground, and as it cast a spell, the deep purple crystal ball burst forth with light.
Centered on itself, a thin layer of mycelium-like substance spreads out from the soles of its feet.
These mycelia spread extremely quickly, covering a large area in no time.
"It seems that my current magic power is only enough to last this long."
The Blue Flame Skull put the crystal ball away.
The mycelium continues to spread, but no longer at the exaggerated speed it used to; it is now spreading steadily.
"I never imagined that the great Eris Wayne would one day be reduced to living among these vile undead creatures."
"Even in this stinking forest, there isn't a single good spot to be found!"
The blue fire skeleton sat on the ground, causing it to tremble, as its servants approached it carrying a ball-shaped object.
"Is this all the materials you have? Are there no more undead creatures?"
The giant servant nodded its ugly head. The blue fire skeleton, using some unknown method, obtained the information the servant had gathered during its absence.
"What do you mean? The undead creatures here were already cleared out before you arrived."
"Although this place isn't particularly rich in resources, it's located relatively close to the depths of the Dark Forest."
"Those high-level necromancers would probably look down on such low-grade materials, and adventurers rarely come to this place."
"Alright, keep an eye on the area. If anything suspicious appears, take care of it immediately."
"Once I recover and use these materials to summon more servants, I can begin the first step of my plan."
"Remember this: during this time, no creature other than those under my command is allowed to approach this area," the Blue Flame Skull instructed the giant monster.
The enormous monster clearly possessed a certain level of intelligence; upon receiving its master's command, it strode away to patrol the surrounding area.
"Phew, all that effort I put into training this guy wasn't for nothing; he seems to be quite effective so far."
"My great Eris Wayne is truly a genius!"

"Got it! Wow, this sheep is pretty strong."
Working in conjunction with Zombie No. 2, Su He drove the second sheep into the sheepfold he had made.
He has now successfully upgraded his professional level to level three.
As his level increased, Zombie Number One also advanced to level three.
As for why Zombie No. 2 was with Su He instead of Zombie No. 1, it's because Zombie No. 1 successfully unlocked the ability to destroy blocks after reaching level three.
Zombie One's main job now is to mine materials for himself.
Logs, pebbles, and soil—these resources are now all being handled by Zombie Number One.
"I've been looking around for ages, but I still haven't found a cow."
Su He scratched his head; cattle were the animals he most wanted to raise right now.
The meat dropped by cows can be eaten, the leather can be used to make armor, and the milk produced can be used to remove "debuffs".
The profits from raising cattle are definitely the greatest.
In particular, I have already figured out how to make a backpack from the system.
The only ingredient he didn't have in the synthesis recipe was leather.
Making hats out of leather allows your undead army to move freely during the day, at which point you won't need to cover them with your own clothes.
That's just how reality is; when you want something and specifically look for it, you just can't find it.
And it tends to accumulate a lot of things when you don't want them.
Now that the two sheep are in place, Su He plans to try them out to see if they can reproduce like in Minecraft.
As soon as I took the wheat I had prepared in advance out of my backpack and held it in my hand, the heads of the two sheep in the enclosure immediately turned toward me and gradually moved toward me.
"The underlying code."
He smiled as he fed the wheat to the two sheep, and red heart-shaped special effects appeared on their bodies.
The two sheep leaned against each other, but after a long time, the scene Su He had imagined did not appear.
"Wait, buddy, where's the lamb? Shouldn't it have already been born?"
"Meow~"
It sounded like crows were cawing overhead. The two sheep had separated, and he couldn't find the newborn lamb in the sheepfold.
"Does this mean I really have to wait for them to give birth to the lambs?"
Unconvinced, he tried feeding the wheat a few more times, but no matter how much he fed it, the two sheep never showed any more heart-shaped markings.
He had to suspend the breeding of both sheep until one of them gave birth.
"Number Two, go and see if any animals have spawned nearby. I'll go check on Number One."
After giving instructions to Zombie Number Two, Su He arrived at the mine tunnel where he had initially dug for round stones.
Inside the mine tunnel, Zombie Number One meticulously maintained the shape of the tunnel as instructed, without digging haphazardly.
"It seems that these level three zombies are much smarter."
Su He sucked all the fallen objects into his backpack.
Zombie Number One only has two slots, one on the left and one on the right, which means he needs to check on Number One's work status from time to time.
With a backpack, you won't need to run back and forth yourself.
While collecting the fallen items, Su He lit torches to slowly illuminate the mine.
When he found Number One, it was mining some black minerals.
"Wow, we actually struck coal!"
He took a stone pickaxe out of his backpack and followed Number One to dig some coal.
Mining coal will grant you some experience that can be used for enchanting.
Su He now has 20 levels of enchanting experience. In another ten levels, he will be able to perform the highest level of enchanting at the enchanting table.
Unfortunately, judging from the current progress, there is still a long way to go before we reach that stage.
He can only enchant without using an enchanting table if he can obtain an anvil and an enchanting book.
"Iron, gold, ruby, lapis lazuli, diamonds—when will I be able to obtain these minerals in large quantities?!"
After finishing mining the coal, Su He led Zombie Number One out of the mine tunnel.
At level three, it's becoming increasingly unreasonable not to expand one's monster army.
So tonight, Su He will expand his monster army even further.
The specific target is the high-level monsters that spawn in the wild.
