Chapter 26 The Restroom: Bloodstained Letters Gathering of Brotherhood
Picking up where we left off, Harry, upon hearing that Dumbledore possessed his father's belongings, completely forgot about Quirrell, that awkward fellow.
He hurriedly opened the box, only to find it completely empty.
He retorted angrily, "Professor, are you here to make a fool of me?"
Seeing that he was about to overturn the table, Dumbledore quickly said, "Calm down, Harry, this is an invisibility cloak."
Harry touched the inside of the box, and it was indeed made of transparent cloth.
He took the invisibility cloak and put it on, leaving only his head exposed. He then looked in the mirror and exclaimed in surprise, "My goodness! Such a treasure exists in the world! How did it end up in my father's hands?"
Dumbledore laughed and said, "You should know that the Potter family is very ancient, even more so than the Twenty-Eight Holy Clans."
He stared at the invisibility cloak for a long time. "Don't lose it, Harry. This isn't an ordinary invisibility cloak; it will never fail."
"To be honest, I even considered using it to hide the Philosopher's Stone—well, anyway, you'd better keep a close eye on it."
Harry asked curiously, "What is the Philosopher's Stone?"
"Did I mention that word?" Dumbledore winked playfully. "Alright, Harry, all you need to do now is go back to your dormitory and get a good night's sleep."
"By the way, are you taking this giant monster's head with you too?"
Harry memorized the words "Sorcerer's Stone" and sneered, "Exactly! But I still have a score to settle!"
After saying that, he took the invisibility cloak, picked up the knife, grabbed the head, and left.
Once they left the office and reached the ground floor, they saw Ron and Hermione waiting for them.
Harry cried out, "What are my sister and brother doing here?"
"We've been waiting for you here ever since we left the restroom," Ron said, beaming. "You know what, Harry, we didn't lose a single point, and we even got fifteen extra points for defeating the troll!"
Where did these fifteen points come from? It turns out that McGonagall was demanding an explanation, and Hermione stepped forward to take the blame and bowed. She only said that she had been arrogant and ignorant, coming to fight the troll and nearly losing her life. Fortunately, Ron came to her rescue, and Harry used his supernatural abilities to slay the troll, demonstrating their deep bond.
"You know, Professor McGonagall has always thought highly of me." Hermione brushed a strand of hair back. "If the problem was with me, she wouldn't be so fixated on it."
Ron winked. "Thanks to Hermione, otherwise we would have been in big trouble, at least a month of confinement."
Seeing that the two had made up, Harry smiled and said, "True friendship is revealed in times of trouble; let's help the brother and sister put an end to their past grievances."
The way is:
In the spell class, camaraderie crumbled, loyalty was tarnished, and heroic sentiments were sealed away.
Together they weathered the monstrous storm, and with a smile, they forgave each other.
The three of them walked towards the Gryffindor common room, chatting and laughing all the way. Suddenly, Harry asked, "Have you and your brother ever heard of the Philosopher's Stone?"
Ron shook his head, but Hermione frowned. "The Philosopher's Stone? That sounds familiar... Harry, where did you hear that word?"
Harry recounted Dumbledore's slip of the tongue, and Ron clapped his hands, saying, "This must be the thing Hagrid took; otherwise, why would Professor Dumbledore hide it?"
Harry replied, "Brother, you have a good point, but I wonder what this Philosopher's Stone is."
"Hmm... let me think." Hermione tapped her head. "I feel like I've heard this somewhere before."
She pondered this to herself the whole way, still puzzled even when she reached the common room. As soon as the three entered, the students surrounded Harry, showering him with concern and greetings.
Upon seeing him carrying the giant's head, Seamus jumped three feet high, shouting, "It's a giant! It's the giant Professor Quirrell was talking about!"
"Killed by Harry!"
The students gasped in shock when they saw the head.
Ron puffed out his chest proudly and recounted how the two of them had worked together to kill the troll, adding that Professor McGonagall had given him extra points, which elicited cheers from everyone. Even the fat lady in the portrait outside the door covered her ears and hurried to another portrait to find some peace and quiet.
"Harry, you've defeated a troll!"
"No! Kill them!"
"A salute to the Lion King!"
The others celebrated with Harry and Ron, while Hermione discreetly left. Just as she was about to return to her dormitory, Harry suddenly shouted, "What's there to celebrate?!"
The shout silenced everyone. Seamus couldn't help but say, "But Harry, you killed a troll!"
Harry ignored him, grabbed the other end, and jumped onto the sofa, saying, "Let me ask you, how many of you know that Hermione isn't coming to the feast tonight?"
The students looked at each other, and after a while, twenty or thirty of them raised their hands.
Harry, enraged, shouted, "You all knew Hermione wasn't here, you all heard that the troll was coming, yet you only cared about running away! Do you even deserve to be called heroes?!"
"I once regarded you as men and women of honor and loyalty, yet you have now committed this despicable act of abandoning your brothers! Do you even deserve to celebrate!"
Harry's tirade left everyone speechless and bewildered.
Ron and Hermione were stunned. The upperclassmen wanted to offer advice, but they knew these were golden words, so they just watched.
Seeing that the others remained silent, Harry jumped down again, and each of them jabbed their fingers into their chests. "You all value loyalty and honor, and your eldest sister values honor—both are acting with integrity and righteousness. How can you not tolerate her and put on such a cold and indifferent act!"
"You should know that it was my elder sister who lied to Professor McGonagall today, allowing me and Brother Ron to avoid trouble and escape detention!"
His words pierced the heart, each one sharp and incisive, leaving the students blushing and unable to straighten their backs.
The lounge was completely silent when Harry suddenly drew his knife, startling the upperclassmen who rushed over to calm him down.
Before he could even speak, Harry sliced off the giant's scalp with a knife, then tore off a piece of cloth, dipped it in blood, and wrote the character for "righteousness" above the fireplace.
"I know you are all good people, with kind blood flowing in your veins and true feelings wrapped under your skin. You were just stunned by the shock."
"But know that making the same mistake again will surely lead to disaster!"
"How can one be a Gryffindor without gathering together righteousness!"
After saying that, Harry picked up his knife and went back to his dormitory.
Hermione stared blankly at Harry's retreating figure, a sudden surge of emotion welling up in her eyes. Tears welled up in her eyes, threatening to spill over at any moment.
The students stared at the character for "righteousness" for a moment, and although they didn't recognize its form, they understood its meaning. Each of them felt deeply ashamed and came to apologize to Hermione.
"I'm sorry, Hermione." Seamus rubbed his robes, avoiding her gaze. "Please don't take what I said in flight class that day to heart."
"I'm sorry, Hermione."
"I'm so sorry, I was so focused on running that I forgot you were in the restroom."
"Hermione, please forgive me..."
These were all eleven-year-old children, their complaints and regrets fleeting. Hermione listened to everything, but tears streamed down her face.
When the senior students saw this, they all laughed and tried to smooth things over, bringing out their secret sweet juices and snacks to share with them.
The students sat together, drinking and chatting happily. Hermione also smiled broadly, and they finally looked like a group of friends.
Poems as proof:
Harry roared, waking the fool from his folly; all living beings apologized, their tears soaking their faces.
