Chapter 125 The Joy of the Celestial Dragons: She Couldn't Imagine It!
In the dormitory, Kane squatted by the fireplace. To his left was a small cauldron filled with Galleons, which melted into gold nuggets and were casually placed on the floor.
On the other side is a rooster with its eyes shaped like two after it has been plucked, washed, and seasoned, quietly waiting to grow from green to mature.
The busy work continued until the afternoon. After finishing the golden birdcage in the dormitory, Kane finally stood up and stretched.
After putting Hu Jin in, they fed him a small piece of meat that was about to spoil, and then an egg fell out.
"Hmm! Making male birds lay eggs isn't just Hagrid's prerogative, I can do it too!" Kane raised his eyebrows and continued to feed Hugkin some meat that he had accidentally obtained but hadn't used before, taking it out of the little pumpkin's mouth. After feeding it a total of five eggs, it fell asleep.
When Harry and Ron returned to their dormitory, this was the scene they saw. Kane was holding a half-eaten roast rooster in his left hand and a poor little rooster crepe in his right—or, to put it simply, an egg crepe.
In general, from a chicken's perspective, Kane should be considered somewhat abnormal.
In fact, it's not inferior from a human perspective either, though only in certain aspects.
Kane, who was eating his father-son soup, looked at Harry and Ron, who looked exhausted, and raised an eyebrow: "You two look like you were just dragged out by a troll. Why do you look so pathetic?"
"Don't even mention it. Luckily you didn't show up in the common room today." Ron said as he walked over to the birdcage where Kane was sitting and leaned lazily against it.
"In short, Hermione is going crazy looking for that Slytherin heir. She thinks that what you learn from books is not enough, blah blah blah, so she took the two of us to the library to find the recipe for Polyjuice Potion. She realized that she had to take action, which meant infiltrating Slytherin to find out who the heir really was."
Kane clicked his tongue. "Why didn't you tell me about such a big plan?"
Harry chuckled awkwardly. "After all, Polyjuice Potion is a potion, and your potion-making skills... don't make us laugh."
After he finished speaking, he seemed to be fanning himself or waving his hand in silence, looking incredibly irritating.
Of course, Kane ignored those trivial matters and selflessly said, "What I mean is, the book you're looking for is in the restricted section... You didn't look for it in the public library, did you?"
hiss..
Harry and Ron both let out a long hiss at the same time, as if they were the true heirs of Slytherin.
"So what does this have to do with you?"
Kane pulled a notebook from his pocket with an air of authority. It was filled with Lockhart's signed library cards. He handed a dozen to Harry: "Write down whatever forbidden books you want to read."
Harry took a deep breath at Kane's actions, which would have cost him his head in the Far East in 1376.
"Does this comply with the rules of Hogwarts?"
Kane frowned. "Hogwarts has that kind of thing?"
There was another moment of silence between them. Soon, Kane seemed to understand: "You two aren't scared, are you?"
Harry and Ron weren't afraid, of course; they just hadn't expected life at Hogwarts to be so enjoyable.
Before they could even speak, Kane pulled them both out of the dorm room: "Alright, alright, since you don't dare to do these fancy tricks, then let me help you. If you don't want to do dirty, tiring, or unconventional work, then I'll do it."
Just as the three of them stepped out of the boys' dormitory building, they saw Hermione right in front of them.
"So, you two brought out Kane as an outside helper?" Hermione wasn't sure if it was rude to say this, but she had to say it anyway: Kane doesn't know anything about Potions.
If Harry and Ron knew what Hermione was thinking, they would definitely defend Kane.
He knows potions way too well.
"Aren't you looking for a book that explains how to prepare compound decoctions?" Kane asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, we searched for...all morning...?"
Hermione had barely finished her opening remarks when Kane strode out of the lounge and headed toward the library.
Seeing this, Hermione, though unaware of Kane's intentions, followed him nonetheless.
However, she still had many doubts in her heart. For example, Kane could make frog leg sandwiches out of scabies potion. Could he really be of any help with this kind of potion knowledge?
As it turns out, he can, he's incredibly capable!
Hermione and her two companions witnessed Kane enter the library and not waste a single second in the public book area, heading straight towards Mrs. Pince.
"Hello Mrs. Pince, I would like to ask which book contains the recipe for Compound Herbal Decoction? Of course, it is for Professor Lockhart." Kane said obediently, leaning on the counter.
"The recipe for Polyjuice Potion is on the list of powerful potions in the Forbidden Books section, but did Lockhart give you a signed slip? We still need to follow the procedure."
After Mrs. Pince finished speaking, Kane took out the notebook filled with Lockhart's signature again, wrote the words "Powerful Potion" in large letters, and handed it to Mrs. Pince. Then Mrs. Pince waved her wand.
The book on powerful magic potions floated here from the forbidden section.
"Take it, the deadline is one month."
"Thank you, Mrs. Pince." After taking the powerful potion, Kane turned and went to a distant place to find Hermione and the others, handing the book to Hermione, who knew the most about potions among the three.
"Is this the book?" After Kane handed the book to Hermione, she remained silent for a moment before finally asking, "What did you give Mrs. Pince? It wasn't an arrest warrant for Azkaban, was it? Or perhaps an expulsion notice from Hogwarts?"
Kane looked at Hermione with a strange expression, then hissed, "Are you out of your mind? Where am I supposed to get that kind of stuff?"
Hermione understood immediately: "So you forged the signature in front of Mrs. Pince?"
Kane rolled his eyes: "Does that thing even need to be faked?"
After saying that, he divided the Lockhart autographed book in his pocket into four parts, kept one for himself, and then distributed them to Harry, Harry, and the other two.
"From now on, I won't need to ask anyone to read banned books. I can just write down what I want to read."
Hermione glanced at the stack of unauthorized slips of paper in her hand...
He carefully put it into his pocket.
She had always had a naive idea that the Celestial Dragons weren't as happy as she imagined.
But she was wrong. She couldn't imagine the joy of the Celestial Dragons.
After handing the powerful potion to Hermione, Kane parted ways with the three of them again. After all, it was a potion, and he really couldn't be of much help. He'd rather spend that time in the library looking for something interesting about potions.
Then, just as he was walking back into the corner of the library, a horned hat that had fallen to the ground appeared in the corner of his field of vision.
