Chapter 118 Dumbledore's Vault
Chapter 118 Dumbledore's Vault
Chapter 118 Dumbledore's Vault
He shouldn't have come alone; he should have brought Lockhart along.
That guy doesn't know much, but he has a lot of Galleons and pounds.
The entire Hogwarts community, including students, professors, and a few non-staff members, numbered less than three hundred. Lupin practically pulled the coin that had accidentally gotten stuck in his shoe out of the room.
Kane was practically sneaking off to the toilet to melt down Galleons, intending to give the factory's finances a little taste of medieval metal trading.
After finally getting out of the office, Kane even asked for a receipt, intending to go back to Dumbledore for reimbursement. Lupin, on the other hand, was a little embarrassed. He was indeed short of money, but he felt a bit awkward about asking Dumbledore for reimbursement.
However, at Kane's insistence, he eventually handed over his copy of the invoice.
After all, making money is really too difficult.
Kane, meanwhile, waved the two receipts in the air, feeling incredibly pleased with himself. He had only spent one expense, but he could get two reimbursements, meaning he had essentially made a profit.
Thinking of this, he looked up at the sky and felt that the sky had become even bluer.
Now all I need to do is wait for the goggles to be made, and then I can be a Lalamove driver and retrieve them myself, and there won't be any problems.
After returning to Hogwarts, Kane knocked on Dumbledore's office door.
Reimbursement is necessary at all times; you can't skip it.
Dumbledore's answer...
"Why don't you go talk to Professor McGonagall?"
""
As soon as Dumbledore finished speaking, he sensed a very strong resentment emanating from Kane. In the end, Kane took the key to the Gringotts vault of the Dumbledore family out of his pocket.
"Go ahead and take as much as you need." Dumbledore handed the keys to Kane, then continued, "Remus Lupin, have you seen him? How is he doing?"
"Just an ordinary worker in that factory, and he seems to get along well with his colleagues. It's very convenient and quick to go to any department, except when it comes to paying." Kane said casually.
"Hmm, I thought he was living a very good life. You really should read the letters he wrote to me; he's praising himself to the skies." Dumbledore smiled wryly and pulled an old envelope from under his desk, changed the date on it, and handed it to Kane.
"When you see him again, please give this to him for me."
Kane took the envelope and raised an eyebrow: "A contract for Defense Against the Dark Arts class next year... I thought he was your friend or junior. He even dug out the money from under his shoe insoles to help you, and you're just going to rip him off like this?"
"In fact, as long as he himself is alright, the curse will only make him leave Hogwarts, and there won't be any danger. So please do me this favor, Kane. And I guarantee that if he agrees, you won't be disappointed in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class next semester." Dumbledore said, waving his hand at Kane, clearly indicating that he was seeing him off.
"Okay." Kane shrugged and left the principal's office, returning to the common room.
The common room was more crowded than usual, because of Filch's petrification and the Slytherin heir lurking in the shadows. Most people stayed in the common room unless they had a reason to go out.
Even Hermione, after borrowing two books from the library, returned to the common room to pass the time in the noisy environment, instead of reading in the library while keeping an eye out for any unknown Slytherin heirs who might suddenly appear from the corner.
Fortunately, the little corner where the four of them were was small enough, secluded enough, and quiet enough that even though the rest room was almost full now, the little corner still only had the four of them.
Hermione looked at Kane, who was whistling and weighing a gleaming gold ring in his hand, and raised an eyebrow with curiosity: "Were you not here just now because you opened a vault?"
Kane raised an eyebrow at the key in his hand: "You've reminded me that I also need to open the vault today."
"What if this key isn't your vault..." Harry suddenly remembered something and touched his pocket.
"Although I have a criminal record, Harry, you really don't have to think of me as shameless. This is Dumbledore's vault. I'll go take a look later."
Hermione leaned back on the small sofa and suddenly clicked her tongue. She shouldn't have asked.
Instead of asking Kane which person he stole a vault from, it would be more worthwhile to take a good look at the pure-blood lineage chart of the wizarding world and find out which surname is most likely to be the Slytherin heir.
Why aren't there any Heath surnames among these pure-blood surnames?
Is this the legendary Magic 404 power...? Hiss... terrifying...
It's also possible that the Heath family isn't pure-blooded. After all, of the twenty-eight pure-blood families in the book, only the Weasleys seem to be on the rise; the others are all barely surviving.
So, does this mean the Heath family intermarries with pure-blood wizards or Muggle wizards? Is that why they are so powerful?
I'm so scared.
Unlike Hermione, who was brainstorming, Kane only took a quick look around this little corner before returning to his dorm room. After all, taking off is definitely not something that can be done in public; it has to be done discreetly.
Back in his dorm room, Kane mounted his flying broom, aimed it at the window, and launched it out.
It wasn't even noon yet when he leisurely rode his flying broomstick and landed in front of the Gringotts Gate in Diagon Alley.
A goblin dressed like a doorman hurried over, presumably because Gringotts might have a parking goblin position. However, this goblin had clearly come for nothing, as Kane hadn't prepared a tip for him or given him any work that would earn him a tip. Kane simply stuffed a broom into the little pumpkin's mouth with practiced ease and walked into Gringotts, leaving the lonely doorman goblin bewildered.
Kane walked up to the counter and knocked on it, waking the old elf who was reading a newspaper.
"So, what can I do for you?" the old elf asked listlessly.
Seeing this, Kane felt it was necessary to take out his power-injecting rod and give the old elf some power.
He pulled out the key to the Dumbledore family vault, and in that instant, the old elf recognized the phoenix crest on the key. He quickly put down his newspaper, put on his glasses, and became as professional as could be.
"Esteemed wizard, what services do you require?"
"Exchange Galleons for pounds, open a vault, and while I'm at it, see what good stuff is in the Dumbledore family vault." After Kane finished speaking, he slowly placed the key to Dumbledore's vault on the counter and gave a soft hum.
