In the headmaster's office, Dumbledore took out two bottles of beverages, one red and one light: "Pepsi or Coca-Cola?"
Kane thought for a moment: "Iced Coke."
Dumbledore:
OK.
Soon, a glass of ice-cold cola was placed in front of Kane.
"Ah, overall, it was a very good ending. You and Harry weren't hurt at all. Harry will probably wake up tomorrow morning. Quirrell's death was very thorough," Dumbledore remarked.
"Not so good, is it?" Kane raised an eyebrow. "If the plan had gone smoothly, Quirrell wouldn't have exploded."
Dumbledore looked at Kane with an encouraging gaze, and the latter made no attempt to hide his feelings.
"If the plan had gone smoothly, Quirrell and... Tom would have been pulled to the other side of that door, but the end result was an explosion."
"So?" Dumbledore asked patiently.
"So Tom has a way of preventing him from leaving this world. Of course, I don't know if this counts as a means or a form of confinement," Kane explained.
"Um."
Dumbledore leaned back in his chair and unconsciously rubbed his hands together. "Mind telling me how you know all this? Of course, mainly about that door."
Kane pursed his lips, glanced down at the eye bone in his hand, and after much deliberation, decided that there was no need to tell Dumbledore about the secret of the Eternal Realm.
The two remained locked in this awkward silence for less than ten seconds when Dumbledore suddenly chuckled and said, "Don't mind Kane. I was being presumptuous this time. After all, we've only known each other for less than a year, and most importantly, everyone has their own secrets. It's very impolite of me to pry into such things without permission, isn't it?"
Kane nodded: "Indeed."
"I thought you'd give me a way out," Dumbledore said with a wry smile.
"Shall I apologize to you?"
Dumbledore waved his hand: "Please don't. So, what do you want to ask me?"
"No, to be honest, if you hadn't brought me here, I'd probably be sleeping in my dorm right now," Kane said quietly.
"Then we won't bother you any longer. But did we leave your little pet in the secret room?" Dumbledore asked.
"Its name is Chester, but I'm also curious. Logically, it should have followed me here by now... No, I have to find it before I go to sleep." Kane said as he left the headmaster's office, intending to take his Chester... Of course, Kane still prefers to call it Little Pumpkin.
Now Kane's task is to find his little pumpkin.
However, just as he stepped out of the headmaster's office, Ron and Hermione appeared out of nowhere and grabbed him.
"Kane? What exactly happened to you in there?" Ron asked anxiously. "Why was Harry beaten so badly?"
"Telling you shouldn't be a problem, but I have some urgent business to attend to right now." Kane waved towards Dumbledore's guardian statue, which obediently opened the door. "Why don't you ask Dumbledore, who knows everything?"
Ron and Hermione exchanged a glance. Asking Dumbledore... wasn't out of the question.
After taking Ron and Hermione to Dumbledore's office, Kane returned to the secret room, put the three-headed dog to sleep, and looked down through the trapdoor.
The little pumpkin was hopping around below, trying to climb up but unable to. It looked incredibly pitiful.
Seeing this, Kane turned the tentacles back into steps, and the little pumpkin hopped up.
"Hmm. Old Maxwell is really a decent person. I like him a lot." Kane bent down and patted Little Pumpkin's big head, then spoke to Maxwell, who seemed not to be listening.
Kane then went to the infirmary to visit poor Harry, but unfortunately, he was stopped by Madam Pomfrey before he could even get in, and he wasn't the only one.
And then there are Ron and Hermione, those two unlucky ones.
"Hey, you two got kicked out too?" Kane, sitting on the little pumpkin, raised his eyebrows and greeted them.
"Um, Kane, you never told us before that you and Harry went through such a... complicated and dangerous adventure." Ron said with a sigh, but his expression seemed more like disappointment at not having experienced the adventure.
"This is dangerous, Ron. Don't make it sound so easy. Kane and Harry almost died today," Hermione lectured, frowning.
"Actually, it's alright." Kane waved his hand, indicating that Madam Pomfrey was still in the infirmary, and told Hermione to stop talking.
"Okay, by the way, will this be kept a secret forever?" Hermione whispered.
"There's still more than half a month left in this semester, so it's probably unlikely. After all, after Quirrell's explosion, Dumbledore will have to find us a new professor."
After Kane finished speaking, he stood up and stretched: "Alright, we can't get in from here anyway, let's go back to sleep."
With that, Kane headed toward the Gryffindor Tower.
"Wait, Kane, your stool," Ron said, pointing to the little pumpkin lying on the ground. "But it's so cute, could you make me one too?"
"It's not a stool. Come on, little pumpkin." As soon as Kane finished speaking, the little pumpkin jumped up and followed Kane's footsteps.
In that instant, Ron's desire for the stool... and the little pumpkin reached its peak, and he quickly ran a few steps.
"What is this thing? Is it a magical creature? Or an alchemical creation? That's so cool!"
Hermione was also a little envious of the little pumpkin hopping behind her. Although her spending power couldn't compare to that of the Celestial Dragons, she would want one if the price wasn't too outrageous.
"I probably can't buy it anymore. There's only one little pumpkin, and it was a gift from someone else." Kane said, stopping and patting the little pumpkin's head. "Besides, it's not just a stool, it's also a box."
Kane, as if he had received something good, subtly and modestly showed it to his friends. When his friends finally discovered it, they excitedly began to show off, making Little Pumpkin open its mouth so that Ron and Hermione could see it.
Then all three of them fell silent.
"Who gave you this gift? Could you introduce me to him?" Ron murmured softly.
"Ron, please have some self-respect..." Hermione reminded Ron somewhat helplessly, hoping he would give up this inappropriate idea as soon as possible.
It's no wonder they reacted so strangely. In fact, even Kane was stunned. He looked at the little pumpkin filled with gems of various colors and took a deep breath.
"Old Mike...you are now the most authoritative one in my heart, without exception."
However, Maxwell did not answer him. Perhaps he was trying to look cool, or perhaps he was dealing with a mess in the Eternal Realm. In any case, Kane should not have to worry about the gems for the time being.
The next day, the three of them met in the common room and went to the infirmary to bring Harry back.
Having just woken up after a great adventure to find that Professor Quirrell had exploded and Voldemort had flown away, Harry, who had spent the night lying motionless in the infirmary, woke up the next day to find his three best friends.
Upon arriving at the Great Hall, Dumbledore showered them with praise, generously awarding Gryffindor two hundred points.
If it ended here, it would have been a wonderful day for Harry, but unfortunately, Dumbledore didn't grant Harry's wish.
The message was like a bolt from the blue for Harry.
Because Professor Quirrell was overjoyed, Dumbledore delivered news that wasn't so good for Harry.
"Professor Severus Snape will temporarily assume the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor for the remaining two weeks."
In that instant, Kane and Harry felt like their world had collapsed. However, it was unlikely that the world had collapsed, since there were only two weeks left in the entire term. In two weeks, no matter how hard Snape could work, how many classes could he actually attend?
Is his class next period?
Oh...it really collapsed.
