Chapter 14 Club Recruitment
Chapter 14 Club Recruitment
The banquet was drawing to a close.
Dumbledore stood up and began to announce the instructions to all the students.
"First, the school's forest area is off-limits to all students."
"Secondly, Mr. Filch, the administrator, emphasized that magic should not be performed in the hallways during breaks."
"Third, for Quidditch player applications from second-year and above students, please contact Ms. Hodge."
"Most importantly, anyone who does not want to suffer a tragic accidental death should not enter the corridor on the right side of the fourth floor."
When Dumbledore finished speaking, thunderous applause erupted.
Although most young wizards don't know why they should clap, they always feel something is missing if they don't clap after a leader finishes speaking.
A few students laughed heartily, such as Mr. Potter, who was antagonized by Malfoy, who thought that Headmaster Dumbledore was making them laugh and that there could be no danger in the school.
Harry and Percy whispered to each other. Percy thought it was impossible because, as a prefect, he didn't know about it, which made no sense.
Percy was then certain that Dumbledore was just joking.
At another table, Ravenclaw prefect Pablo Pierce asked Lane, "Do you know whether the headmaster's statement is true or false?"
Pablo's thinking was simple: in terms of talent, Ryan was ten times better than him; in terms of prophetic ability, the entire Hogwarts couldn't beat Ryan with one hand. Without affecting his future path of magical research, blindly following Ryan was the wisest thing to do.
No matter how outrageous Ryan's claims are, just listen to them.
Ryan nodded: "It's true, but I can't say."
"You really can't tell?" someone pressed. They knew Ryan quite well from their years of interaction. In Ryan's own words, if a prophecy wasn't told and no one knew about it, then it wouldn't be a successful prophecy.
Ryan does indeed enjoy sharing rare knowledge and information with everyone.
However, this time, Ryan simply shook his head: "I can only say that the incident on the right side of the fourth floor this year has nothing to do with the school. I can't say anything more."
Pablo: "I'll prevent Ravenclaw students from going there. Of course, Ryan, if you have any new ideas, just tell me, and we'll discuss them."
Seeing the sly look in Pablo's eyes, Ryan smiled and nodded.
The Ravenclaw hawks, who had originally become well-behaved chicks, have started to disregard school rules under Ryan's long-term influence.
At the head table, Dumbledore added, "Of course, I also have some very good news to share."
He paused for a moment as he spoke.
Everyone looked at him, the students excited and curious about what message Dumbledore had to say.
Some professors looked puzzled, some frowned, and others seemed thoughtful.
"First of all, Mr. Lane Welsh donated a collection of extremely valuable manuscripts to Hogwarts during the summer holidays. For that, I would give Ravenclaw a hundred points."
A burst of cheers and applause erupted at the Ravenclaw table, something the senior students from the other three houses were already used to.
Only the newly enrolled freshmen were surprised: "Adding 100 college points right on the first day of school? That's amazing!"
"Are college credits really that easy to obtain?"
"That's so unfair! Ravenclaw has already scored a hundred points higher than the other houses right from the start!"
The upperclassmen, watching the boisterous freshmen, knew that their shock was yet to come. When they realized how hard it was to earn college credits, they would be repeatedly shocked by what had happened tonight.
Until the next year's freshmen enroll, they will look at the boisterous freshmen of the following year with the same eyes passed down from generation to generation.
It's like an endless vicious cycle called Lane Welsh.
"Secondly, and most importantly, Mr. Ryan expressed his desire to start a magic club. After passing the assessment, Mr. Ryan's Adventurers' Club was successfully established, located in an empty classroom at the eastern end of the second floor of the castle."
"A notice will be posted on the bulletin board later. Young wizards who meet the criteria or are invited can go and join Mr. Ryan's club."
"I am delighted that a club that can encompass all four houses has finally emerged, allowing young wizards from different houses to make friends and explore the wonders of magic in the same Hogwarts."
"Of course, Mr. Ryan has the authority to add or deduct points for the members present in the Adventurers' Club."
"Speaking of which, the professors' respective clubs..."
Dumbledore was interrupted by Professor McGonagall's violent coughing before he could finish speaking, and he had to stop.
But the effect of this message was the same as calling out Harry Potter's name during the Sorting Ceremony.
After a brief silence, the auditorium erupted with noise that sounded like a street brawl.
"That's impossible!"
"Students can create interest clubs, but shouldn't magic clubs be reserved for professors?"
"Giving or deducting points to students is the prerogative of the grade leader!"
Seeing Dumbledore's look, Ryan stood up and gently shook his wand: "Silent."
An invisible ripple spread from the tip of his staff, precisely enveloping all the students, and the auditorium was instantly silenced.
He said, "I am very pleased that the headmaster personally explained to everyone the Adventurers' Guild... Club that I founded. The purpose of the Adventurers' Club is to be adventurers on the edge of magic, and also to promote the integrated development of the four academies."
"Here, I would like to thank the principal for his encouragement, the professors for their recognition, and all the students for their support. I will now set standards based on certain assessment requirements, and I encourage everyone to apply."
"Of course, I will also select some students to send invitations based on my... impressions."
Ryan smiled mysteriously, then broke the silent spell and bowed to the audience to express his gratitude.
Before the Silent Curse was removed, almost all the senior students realized what the so-called "some impressions" were after seeing Ryan's smile.
That must be the wizard that Ryan saw in the prophecy, someone capable of achieving something great.
Of course, in the eyes of 99% of Hogwarts students, being able to work for the Ministry of Magic after graduation is considered a significant achievement for a wizard.
For example, Mr. Percy Weasley, the Gryffindor prefect who was excellent in both character and academics, hoped to enter the Ministry of Magic and gain power.
After the silent spell was removed.
What was originally a scene that resembled a quarrel in a vegetable market turned into a "friendly consultation" at the United Nations Diplomatic Conference.
Even Pippi the Ghost found it noisy, let out a scream, and hurriedly fled the auditorium.
Everyone present was discussing what standards Ryan Wales would set and who he would directly invite.
"Oh, quiet, quiet, what young and energetic students!" Dumbledore stopped the escalating argument and said loudly, "But it's late. Now, before everyone goes back to their dormitories, let's sing the school song together!"
On the stage, Dumbledore smiled broadly and looked radiant; the other professors looked reluctant and their faces fell.
The tone-deaf Ryan vowed that one day, Principal Ryan Wales would abolish the habit of singing at parties.
"Wait a minute, after I become the principal, all I need to do is listen to the students sing... there's no need to abolish it!"
Realizing that it was none of his business, the future Principal Ryan immediately changed his mind.
But he cannot replace Dumbledore yet, and can only struggle to finish singing the school song amidst a variety of tunes.
"It's not a big problem; there's always someone who sings worse."
He comforted himself.
