Chapter 34 I can't take it anymore
Chapter 34 I can't take it anymore
"You can use the bamboo dragonfly to fly after you come out of the tunnel."
The mentor, Batman, remained as calm and composed as ever: "I can't fly."
He told a lame joke with a blank expression, "I'm Batman, not a bat."
I can't do it anymore.
The footsteps behind him grew closer and closer. Zheng En was panting heavily, and the words of her mentor, Batman, made her want to laugh, but she felt utterly powerless.
Seeing a glimmer of light ahead, he mustered his courage and ran out with great anticipation.
"Clatter".
The soft moonlight spilled onto the ground, and compared to the pitch-black environment inside the tunnel, the outside was noticeably brighter.
The bamboo dragonfly above his head buzzed around, and everything was so wonderful. Without the limitations of the terrain, he no longer had to worry about being threatened by Batman, nor would his life be in danger.
The moment she took flight, Jung Eun felt as if she had lost something.
What is it?
The system Batman remained silent for a long time, then spoke with great difficulty, "Your pants..."
When Zheng En lowered her head, she found that she was only wearing underwear on her lower body.
He did not escape Batman's clutches. The moment he took off, fate mercilessly gripped the back of his neck, just like every abnormal species who failed to escape Levi's punishment.
Because he went out wearing loose-fitting shorts for convenience, the shorts slipped down easily when he pulled them up.
Jung Eun gave a bitter smile and said that he felt like he had lost something.
What is it?
It's chastity! It's chastity!
No wonder his butt felt cold!
Fortunately, Batman was driven mad by the fear gas, not lost his mind. Since he didn't catch anyone, he wouldn't do anything to a pair of pants; he just tossed them on the ground.
Taking advantage of his inattention, Zheng En quickly picked up her pants, pulled them up, and put them on. If someone saw this, it would be difficult to explain.
He pulled up his pants while watching Batman, but without external stimulation, Batman was actually quite gentle. He just knelt down, buried his head low, and sobbed softly.
Suddenly, Zheng En seemed to see the child in that comic book.
Only one streetlamp was lit in the dark alley, clearly illuminating the child kneeling below.
He sobbed with his mouth open, snot and tears streaming down his face.
Not far away, pearls were scattered everywhere on the ground, and blood flowed into rivers.
As he grew older, his grief seemed to become more restrained, but the heaviness of it remained unchanged.
Did Batman, the system that has always helped and guided him, ever feel the same way?
Such a thought vanished in an instant, and Jung Eun quickly gave a self-deprecating laugh.
This seems like a pointless statement.
He knew he couldn't help Batman much; the only thing he could do seemed to be to watch quietly from the sidelines, offering companionship that was better than nothing.
Amidst the sobbing, a faint crackling sound of electricity flashed by.
Zheng En's eyes followed the sound and searched the ground, quickly finding a black earpiece.
The person on the other end kept asking questions, trying to get a response.
"Young Master? Young Master? Can you hear me?"
He seemed to have deduced Batman's current situation. "Young Master, please calm down. What you saw was an illusion, it's all in the past. Find a safe place to stay, I'll come to Arkham to pick you up."
"Please hold on, young master, I'll be there soon."
"It's Alfred."
Mentor Batman spoke up. He doesn't usually speak, except when Zheng En explicitly asks him to respond. Even when Zheng En was doing missions, he rarely offered guidance.
Rather than letting Jung Eun become dependent on him for everything, he would prefer to see Jung Eun have her own opinions and perspectives.
The person on the other end of the headset was Alfred. Zheng En thought his mentor, Batman, would want to say something more, but he didn't.
Zheng En thought that this local Batman probably wouldn't want Alfred to see him like this.
So he spoke up.
"Hello, Batman is safe now."
Alfred seemed startled by the unfamiliar voice. He paused for a moment, then asked, "So, Batman was lucky enough to run into a kind person?"
I guess so.
Zheng En looked at Batman not far away, who seemed to be gradually emerging from his grief.
After so much time, the effects of the fear gas should have worn off.
"He should be back soon," Zheng En asked Alfred. "Can you drive the Batmobile around here?"
"The Batmobile is nearby, sir."
Just as Zheng Engang finished speaking, a sleek car drove out of the forest. Its jet-black paint job provided excellent camouflage in the night.
He couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow, that's cool."
The appearance of the Batmobile seemed to trigger Batman's inner code, and he stumbled toward it. Jung Eun lent a hand, helping him get into the car smoothly.
He took the opportunity to get a good look at the legendary Batmobile.
The car boasts a sleek body and a cool exterior, while inside are various incomprehensible high-tech devices. The moment Batman sits in, the screen in front of him automatically lights up.
"Identity verification: None available, iris recognition not possible."
"Operating Permit: One Penny."
Command: Activate remote control mode.
A mechanical, electronic voice rang out inside the car as Zheng En watched the Batmobile disappear into the night. Behind him, in the direction of Arkham, a raging fire broke out.
Zheng En turned to look at the towering flames, where a shimmering blue panel floated in his field of vision.
[Quest: The Burning Arkham]
Some are trying to bury the truth, while others are trying to cover up the remains.
You're unsure if the Scarecrow and the Roman can be successfully apprehended. But thankfully, Batman has already gathered enough evidence during his infiltration.
At least in terms of legal procedures, they can now be sued.
Before that, after the heroes left the stage, Arkham still had a lot of mess to clean up.
Police are on their way at full speed; some people are still trapped in the fire or buried under the rubble.
Perhaps there's something you can do, like saving a few lives.
[Mission Objective: Help the people trapped in Arkham escape]

Batman Skills Fragments: An Introduction to Disguise and Performance (Quite basic skills, but enough to fool most people)
Batman Skill Fragments: Introduction to Reconnaissance and Counter-Reconnaissance - Minor Mastery of Reconnaissance and Counter-Reconnaissance (Those who try to track your enemies may become the prey caught in the spider's web. The hunter and the prey are never truly matched).
Feature Unlocked: Shop (You can trade with the system at a certain price. The price is relatively high, but compared to gacha pulls, players can more effectively obtain the items they currently need.)
"Well, Batman has done what he wanted to do, now it's time for the players to make their appearance."
Zheng En let out a long breath, took two steps toward Arkham, and the bamboo dragonfly above his head began to spin.
"Even if I can't lead the charge, doing logistical support is still good."
