Chapter 43 Reminiscing about the Past
Chapter 43 Reminiscing about the Past
"Ye, you used ninjutsu to help me again," the old woman said, looking at the little girl beside her who was pretending to be aloof.
"Grandma, I didn't use ninjutsu this time!"
"Grandma, you have trouble walking, why do you always go out alone? It's too dangerous."
"You refused my treatment last time, so you can't refuse again this time."
Uchiha Ye stepped forward, knelt down beside the old woman, and began to use the "Rejuvenation Technique" from the [Longevity Technique] to heal injuries. This was far more powerful than medical ninjutsu.
In no time, she had healed the old lady's leg injury.
"Ye, aren't you afraid of being blamed for abusing ninjutsu like this?" The old woman, though her leg had been healed, was even more worried that the young girl in front of her would be punished.
"Grandma, ninjutsu can be used not only against enemies but also to help people. Who would dare to blame me?"
Uchiha Ye said nonchalantly.
"That's good, that's good."
"Actually, Grandma once met a kind-hearted ninja like you who often helped others, but he wasn't as good as you. He was still a very precious child."
"I just don't know when he stopped appearing. Maybe he was too busy after becoming a ninja and didn't have time to come over."
"I remember him mentioning that becoming Hokage was his dream, and I suppose he's working towards that goal."
The old woman reminisced about the past as she spoke to the little girl beside her.
"Grandma, is it possible that the person is already dead?" Uchiha Ye silently added in his mind.
"And grandma, you think too highly of me. I just wanted to get some quests to do in order to improve my relationship with the NPCs."
"Although I haven't received a single mission so far," Uchiha Ye thought to himself.
After seeing the old lady off, Uchiha Ye returned to Tobi, who had been standing still the whole time, and said, "You can go now, Tobi."
After a while, seeing that he didn't react, she said, "Fei, you promised to treat me to something, you're not trying to renege on your promise, are you?"
Obito snapped out of his reverie, a hint of apology on his face. "Ye, I'm so sorry, I suddenly lost focus."
"Oh? You don't know this old lady, do you?"
Uchiha Yoru glanced at it and said directly.
Fei's expression froze, and she quickly shook her head, "No...I don't know him..."
He tried to force a smile to cover it up, but it looked incredibly stiff.
"Haha, I was just kidding, you actually took it seriously."
"But if you can't smile, then don't smile, it looks a bit ugly."
Uchiha Ye seemed to have discovered a new continent, and made a couple of sarcastic remarks with a smile.
Her words caused the White Zetsu underground to cover his mouth and burst into laughter, almost causing him internal injuries.
Uchiha Ye was completely unaware of this. The two of them stopped at a place that sold three-colored dumplings.
"Uncle, I'd like ten skewers of three-color meatballs."
"Okay, please wait a moment."
In no time, ten skewers of meatballs were made and handed over.
Uchiha Yo took the bag of dumplings and gestured to Fei to pay.
Obito stepped forward, his hand reaching into his pocket, an embarrassed look on his face. He scratched his head and made up a lame excuse, "Ye, I left in a hurry and didn't bring any money."
"what!"
Uchiha Ye was about to eat the dumpling in his hand when he heard this, so he immediately put it back in the bag.
"How about we return it?" she suggested softly, but the meatball vendor overheard her and gave her a look.
"Hehe, just kidding, boss."
Uchiha Ye had no choice but to take out a banknote from his pocket and hand it over.
"Ye, I'm so sorry, I'll definitely treat you to a meal next time." Obito was so embarrassed that he could practically dig out a three-room apartment.
"Hehe, no need, you're treating and I'll pay, there's really nothing wrong with that," Uchiha Ye couldn't help but mutter.
Upon hearing this, White Zetsu nearly burst out laughing. "Obito, Obito, I never thought you'd end up like this."
The shop was very popular. Since there were no seats available, Uchiha Yoh leaned against the corner of the wall outside the shop and started eating.
"Sweet but not cloying, it's really delicious."
"I'll buy five more skewers later and bring them to Itachi tomorrow."
"Fei, aren't you going to eat?"
After finishing one skewer, Uchiha Yoh noticed nine more skewers in the bag and was somewhat puzzled.
"I..." Obito was momentarily speechless.
She immediately understood. "You're welcome. I was just joking with you."
"There's so much, I can't possibly finish it all."
After Uchiha Ye finished speaking, he took out a string of dumplings from the bag and handed it over.
"Thank you."
Obito took the dumpling and ate it silently.
The familiar taste brought back memories for him.
"Fei, what are you thinking about? Why did you stop eating after just one bite?"
"Don't you like these meatballs?"
"Come on, I'll take you to eat something else."
Uchiha Ye pulled him along, running around to and fro at the food stalls, and soon their hands were piled high with food.
She then led Ah Fei to a quiet corner to sit down.
"With so much food, there must be something you like to eat!"
She looked at Afei with a hint of expectation in her eyes.
"Hmm," Obito responded with a soft hum.
It had been a long time since anyone had cared about him like this, and he suddenly felt that it would be nice if things continued like this.
Uchiha Ye was looking at the side quests on the panel, which were still empty, and he was getting a little frustrated.
"This game is awful, it's inhuman."
Suddenly, the ring on Obito's hand moved slightly.
"Why is Payne looking for him at this time?"
He frowned, but still put down the food in his hand and made an excuse to leave.
"This person wouldn't be looking at so much food; they're probably afraid they won't be able to finish it and will run away!"
"No way! No way!"
"Do we have to destroy it ourselves again?"
Uchiha Ye looked at the abundance of food before him and fell into deep thought.
"I am back."
Fei's voice came from behind.
"Then eat up! All of this is yours," Uchiha Ye said with a delighted expression.
Obito hadn't noticed before, but now, seeing so much food on the table, his lips twitched involuntarily, and he resignedly began to eat.
"No, try this first..."
"This is delicious too..."
"And this..."
Uchiha Ye thoughtfully fed the ninja in front of him, feeling quite comforted as he watched the food being consumed bit by bit.
Obito was very obliging and actually finished all the food she offered.
"Wow... have we really encountered a glutton?"
A hint of admiration flashed in Uchiha Ye's eyes, after all, this was a glutton she had personally witnessed.
The two sat quietly for a while longer, and Obito found himself somewhat captivated by the peaceful moment. For a fleeting instant, he even considered abandoning his plan.
Fortunately, a voice brought him back to his senses, "Fei, it's very late, I'll go home now."
"Ah...I understand. Thank you for your hospitality. I'll definitely treat you next time we meet."
“Okay! Let’s set a time then,” Uchiha Ye said without any politeness.
"Hmm," Obito hesitated for a moment, then immediately agreed.
After agreeing on a time, Uchiha Ye left with a grin.
"Next time we meet, I'll definitely make her eat twice as much as she spent."
Seeing that the task list still showed no tasks, I was instantly filled with disappointment and headed home.
