Chapter 48 Dragon Talisman
Chapter 48 Dragon Talisman
Seeing Hulk charging towards him, Fury instinctively turned to the side.
Hulk's fist landed where Fury had just been.
"Banner, are you crazy! Look closely, take a good look at who I am!" Fury roared from the side.
Hulk's punch missed, and without any hesitation, his fists rained down on Fury.
Fury could only dodge the barrage of punches. He was still just an ordinary person at heart, and he felt bad even if he was hit by a punch from Hulk.
"Banner! You're insane!" Fury continued to yell.
Fury's stamina was far inferior to Hulk's, and soon he was panting heavily. Hulk was already staring at him with envy, and a green fist slammed towards Fury's head.
He couldn't withstand that attack.
Just as Fury closed his eyes and raised his arms to his forehead, intending to take the blow squarely, a loud metallic clang rang out.
Fury opened his eyes. Steve was standing in front of him, his shield blocking the attack.
"What's wrong with Banner?" Steve asked.
"I don't know, he just reacted like that the moment he saw me," Fury explained from the side.
"Banner, wake up!" Steve shouted.
Hulk didn't respond to them, continuing to pound his fists on the shield.
call out!call out!call out!
The sound of an arrow came from another direction, and a specially made arrowhead pierced Hulk's body. Intense pain spread throughout his body, and Hulk couldn't help but cry out.
Clint's figure appeared from the source of the arrows, with Natasha standing beside him.
Four more arrows were shot out, accurately hitting Hulk's limbs and pinning him to the ground. Steve seized the opportunity, raised his shield, and jumped onto Hulk, smashing the shield down on Hulk's forehead.
boom! boom! boom!
Several consecutive slaps knocked Hulk unconscious.
Steve jumped off Hulk, and Natasha and Clint came to Fury's side.
"What's going on? Banner has gone mad," Natasha asked Fury.
Fury made a gesture indicating that he didn't know either.
Clint looked at Hulk, who had collapsed to the ground, and said, "You should have calmed down by now. Why hasn't Banner recovered yet?"
Fury thought for a moment: "It must be the work of the Holy Lord."
"Who is the Holy Lord?" Clint asked.
"Vallon, that dragon from another world during the New York Holy War," Fury explained. "We were all fooled by him; he should be the greatest enemy of the New York Holy War."
"What do we do now? Do we have a battle plan?" Clint asked.
Fury looked at the group of people in front of him: Natasha, Steve, Clint, and Banner, who was being controlled by Shendu.
"Shendu and Tony have already fought, and it seems Shendu has won. Now the Avengers are just you guys," Fury concluded.
"The Holy Lord's current abilities are the control over inanimate objects and the right to use the Mind Stone that he demonstrated during the Holy War in New York."
Fury drew the shape of a dragon and a gem on the ground: "He has no means of reconnaissance, and we are now in the shadows."
"The Mind Stone, wasn't that entrusted to you for safekeeping? How come it's with Shendu now?" Clint seemed to have discovered something important.
Fury coughed but didn't explain: "We're having some trouble with Tony right now, but he's an important asset to us, and we have to rescue him."
"Judging from the Holy Lord's previous behavior, he is very afraid of nuclear weapons."
Friton paused and looked at Natasha: "The military's nuclear weapons are no longer capable of being launched. You will assist the military in repairing the weapons; we need nuclear deterrence."
"Clint, you work with Steve to try and rescue Tony."
Seeing that everyone agreed, Fury seemed to sense something was wrong: "Clint, don't you have any doubts about me?"
Clint shrugged. "I was hostile towards you before Natasha found me, but Natasha has already explained."
Fury nodded as he listened to the other person's reply. Any doubt now was extremely dangerous, and he had to eliminate it, even if the doubt came from himself.
"Let's go now. I have another super weapon, so you can proceed with confidence. If the operation fails, someone will step in." Fury rubbed the pager in his pocket.
Fury watched the three disappear into the darkness and murmured to himself, "I hope everything goes well."
The Holy Lord stood on the top floor of Stark Tower, with Natasha kneeling behind him: "Fury doesn't really think his plan can actually be carried out, does he?"
"You need to cooperate with them. I'm not sure yet whether Tony will be able to launch the nuclear missile, but at least we need to make sure the military has one nuclear missile available."
The Holy Lord said to the ninjas standing by, "Find Pepper Potts, capture her, and hide her in a safe place."
The Holy Lord picked up a document he had retrieved from Stark's archives; it was an urgent, encrypted document that only high-ranking officials could access.
[In a secret vault in Hydra's Eastern European stronghold, an object with an unknown energy has been confirmed, and it may depict a snake-like creature with legs.]
[Capable of directing high-temperature jets for large-scale explosions]
The Holy Lord was certain that the item described in the document was the Dragon Talisman.
A few days later, in Eastern Europe, at a secret Hydra base.
There are no soldiers' dormitories, no strategic meeting rooms, only a tunnel that goes deep underground to a laboratory.
The laboratory door had no markings, no electronic lock, only a mechanical lock.
This is Hydra's old-fashioned way: locking up the most dangerous items in the simplest way.
The Holy Lord stood on the edge of the cliff at the entrance of the base, with two silent ninjas crouching behind him.
"Hydra".
Shendu murmured the name. In the current timeline, Wanda was still being studied by Hydra, the Mind Stone was with him, and she had not yet gained superpowers to become the Scarlet Witch.
The Holy Lord raised his hand, and the light of the Mind Stone shimmered in his palm, the light of the stone extending downwards, penetrating deep into the laboratory.
The Lord closed his eyes, and through the eyes of a guard in the laboratory, he saw something sleeping in a sealed container.
That substance resonated faintly within him.
Dragon Talisman.
The Holy Lord withdrew his senses, and another fluctuation came from deeper within the base.
Chaos and explosions are like a wild beast trapped in a cage.
"That's interesting."
The Holy Lord stretched out his hand, and the Rat Talisman, combined with the light of the Mind Stone, seeped into the earth.
Steel bars and concrete, these inanimate objects, trembled under the consciousness of the Holy Lord.
A crack appeared in the ground.
The Holy Lord leaped deep into the crevice, with two ninjas silently following behind him.
The lights in the underground laboratory flickered on and off.
Before the guards could react, the walls began to squeeze, and the metal walls twisted and deformed.
They were pierced or crushed into meat patties before they could even let out a scream.
The Lord walked through the tunnel at a leisurely pace.
At the end of the tunnel, a passage without a door appeared before us.
The Holy Lord glanced at it, and the metal on the door began to rotate automatically, the lock cylinders snapped one by one, and the door opened automatically.
"Their rudimentary defense methods are not even half as effective as S.H.I.E.L.D."
