Chapter 125 Answer the phone, but you have to speak English.
When I get rich, the first thing I'll do is invest in the sharing economy and ride-hailing apps! This includes services like carpooling, bike sharing, electric bike sharing, mobile ride-hailing, and phone-based ride-hailing.
If there were ride-hailing apps available now, Lin Tian wouldn't have had to walk on the street with Bellucci for a full hour without seeing a single taxi.
Of course, Lin Tian wasn't tired, especially when Bellucci put his hand in his as they walked, Lin Tian felt even less tired.
The problem now is that Lin Tian feels the atmosphere is right and it's time to get down to business.
But he really couldn't get a taxi.
He originally wanted Pelinka to pick him up, and Bellucci had also considered having Anne pick her up.
But the result was that we couldn't get through to either of them by phone, and who knows where they went.
Of course, Lin Tian could call Jordan, Pippen, or someone else, but...
Given the character of those people, if you called them over, they would obediently take Lin Tian home and leave. The sun would rise in the west if you did that. These scumbags are just hoping to embarrass Lin Tian and they love nothing more than causing trouble for him!
Last time at that nightclub in Miami, that bastard Jordan even made up a lie that Lin Tian had a sexually transmitted disease, just to attract those girls who kept snuggling into Lin Tian's arms to his side.
Utterly shameless!
Fortunately, Lin Tian discovered it in time and revealed the truth about Jordan's quick and agile style. But to Lin Tian's surprise, the girls actually liked Jordan even more after hearing this.
No overtime required, you can even be late or leave early! Who wouldn't like that?
Jordan doesn't like it!
During a later training session, Jordan almost got into a fight with Lin Tian!
They almost came to blows!
At Wennington, the pacifist stepped forward again when Lin Tian and Jordan were both caught up in the moment, grabbing Jordan and preventing the conflict from continuing.
Of course, if he hadn't been shouting, "Calm down! Calm down, Michael! You can't beat Lin!", his attempt to break up the fight would probably have been more effective.
Well, we've gone off on a tangent.
Lin Tian and Bellucci walked hand in hand on the street for nearly two hours before finally managing to hail a taxi.
Fortunately, the taxi driver didn't seem to watch the NBA, let alone know Bellucci. He just thought the two men were very good-looking, but he didn't keep talking to them.
Quiet, very quiet!
Neither Lin Tian nor Bellucci spoke another word until they arrived at Bellucci's hotel.
Lin Tian made another phone call to Pelinka from the hotel entrance.
This time, Pelinka finally accepted.
"The room is ready, you can go now. The steak has been ordered, it's the kind Bellucci likes, as Annie said. There are also two bottles of wine, also Bellucci's favorite brand. Don't worry about us, we're going to see a movie. Don't call me again, I'll send them back before noon tomorrow."
Before Lin Tian could speak, Pelinka rattled off a whole bunch of things, and before Lin Tian could react, she added, "Oh, right, Annie said Bellucci likes to be on top."
After saying that, Pelinka didn't give Lin Tian another chance and hung up the phone directly.
That bastard!
He values romance over friendship!
"What's wrong? Where are Annie and your agent?" Bellucci tilted his head, looking at Lin Tian with amusement.
"It's alright. My agent told me he left a somersaulting rabbit in your hotel room as a gift. Shall we go up and take a look together?"
Upon hearing Lin Tian's words, Bellucci revealed an incredibly bright smile and said, "Let's go. I've never seen a rabbit that can do somersaults in my entire life."
That's the smile!
This is the kind of smile only those charming older women have! That kind of understanding that says, "I understand you, but I don't say it!"
The two stood shoulder to shoulder, still without speaking, and walked up the elevator, opened the door, and went inside.
"Red wine, steak, flowers, and even my favorite cigarettes." Bellucci took off his coat, sat on the sofa, and still tilted his head to look at Lin Tian: "But what about the rabbit that can do backflips?"
"Maybe the rabbit did too many backflips and is now asleep. Or should we eat first? Maybe the rabbit will wake up after we've eaten."
"But I have a very low alcohol tolerance." Bellucci stood up, walked straight to the table and sat down, saying, "It's still warm. If we hadn't been together the whole time, I would have really suspected that you secretly made a phone call to arrange all of this."
"Your agent is great."
My agent even thinks your assistant is quite good.
……
Pelinka prepared a steak made from high-quality grain-fed beef, and the chef was clearly experienced, searing the steak to perfection. The pasta also tasted authentic, and at least Bellucci looked very satisfied while eating it.
The only downside was that there was no dessert after the meal.
But it was enough for Lin Tian and Bellucci to eat their fill.
When the food was finished and the two bottles of wine were almost empty, a slight blush rose on Bellucci's face. She looked at Lin Tian and asked, "When you first saw me, what did you say you liked to see in me?"
"Every single one," Lin Tian said, looking at Bellucci.
Has anyone ever told you that every smile and gesture of yours is full of charm?
"Charming? I like that word, because more people like to say I'm seductive." Bellucci shook her head as if thinking of something, and lit another cigarette. In the swirling smoke, Bellucci's face was hidden in a hazy mist, which added to her mystery.
"Venus," Lin Tian suddenly said softly, "If I had to choose one person from all the people I've ever met and name them Venus, it would definitely be you."
"Bad man." Bellucci said, then suddenly stood up, walked straight to Lin Tian, and sat on his lap.
There was no need for any further verbal communication. At this moment, no matter how beautiful the language and sound, or how ornate the words and grammar, none could compare to the most direct and simple hum that came from the depths of the soul, emanating from the nose.
After an unknown amount of time, Bellucci's phone suddenly rang.
"Should I answer it?"
Do you want me to answer?
"Yes, but you have to speak English."
"it is good."
"Don't explain, Kaso, I don't want to hear anything."
The moment he answered the phone, Bellucci took the initiative and started the conversation in English.
This is the advantage of being proficient in multiple languages!
Hmm, at this point, perhaps this isn't an advantage?
Lin Tian didn't listen carefully to what Bellucci and Cassel were talking about.
Because Mr. Lin has a bottom line, eavesdropping on other people's private phone calls is a very impolite and uncivilized act.
I, Lord Lin, would never eavesdrop on other people's privacy!
Of course, Lin Tian also has more important things to do right now.
"That's it for now. We'll talk about it when I get back to Italy. Yes, I'm willing to meet you. I'll go back to Milan after my work here is finished, and we'll talk about it then. But right now, I don't want to hear your voice anymore. That's all!"
……
Two hours later, Lin Tian sat up slightly, picked up the cigarettes from the bedside, and took one out.
Bellucci, with perfect understanding, picked up a lighter and lit a cigarette for Lin Tian.
"Didn't you say you don't smoke?"
"I just want to remember your favorite flavor forever." Lin Tian took a deep drag of his cigarette, then coughed a few times, looking at Bellucci and saying, "A flavor you'll never forget."
"So, how's my career going in Hollywood?" Bellucci asked, leaning on Lin Tian.
"I know several famous Hollywood directors and producers. They'll definitely like me until at least June next year. I should be able to help you." Lin Tian took another small puff of his cigarette, letting the best-selling cigarette in Italy pass through his lungs.
This time, Lin Tian didn't cough. Instead, he looked at Bellucci and said, "I believe you will become a huge star and let the whole world know you and witness your unique charm and allure."
Bellucci did not answer Lin Tian. She did not say whether she was joking, speaking on a whim, or making a decision after careful consideration, because at that moment, Lin Tian's phone rang.
"In English." Bellucci looked at Lin Tian but didn't rush to move.
She needed to know whether it was a man or a woman calling.
"Lin, I got a role! It's not a endorsement, but it's the first time I've ever gotten a role with screen time and lines! This is my first leading lady role, how are you going to congratulate me?"
Lin Tian didn't try to hide anything and started flirting with Theron right away.
Bellucci quickly realized that Lin Tian and the girl on the other end of the phone had an unusual relationship, so she started working on it.
……
The next day at noon, Pelinka, who had been missing for a day, finally called Lin Tian and told him that he had made a reservation at a restaurant and asked Lin Tian, Bellucci, and him and Annie to meet at the restaurant.
After a simple meal, Bellucci and Anne were about to head to the airport to return to Italy.
Bellucci still did not choose to stay in the United States to develop his career. What he said yesterday seemed to be just a joke he made on a whim.
"I'm a little tempted." Watching Anne and Bellucci walk into the waiting area, Pelinka suddenly said with a touch of sadness, "Anne is really a very interesting girl."
"Shut up, you bastard!" Lin Tian completely ignored this dishonest guy, both inside and out: "Dennis's throwing a party tonight, consider it the final festivities and pep rally before the Christmas battle, are you coming or not?"
"Go! I'm going to use alcohol and simple release to forget this painful moment of parting."
"Fuck you!" Lin Tian gave Pelinka the middle finger, turned around and left with a look of contempt.
How could anyone in this world be more shameless than me?
……
Two days later, on Christmas Day, the Bulls arrived at the United Center more than three hours early.
This is Jackson's rule: for every game he defines as "important," everyone must arrive at the arena three hours in advance for the final pre-game analysis.
Tonight is not only the most important and anticipated Christmas Day game of the entire regular season, but the Bulls' opponent is also the Houston Rockets, who are widely regarded as the most likely team to win the championship this year besides them!
Many people believe that this Christmas battle is a preview of the finals!
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, these two teams will most likely meet in the finals!
CBS, through various channels, predicted that the number of viewers for this regular season game would likely reach around 1500 million!
This number is more than the viewership of most years' Finals and All-Star Game. Just from this number, you can tell how many people are looking forward to this ultimate showdown!
The Bulls vs. Rockets matchup is so anticipated not only because the Bulls are currently ranked first in the Eastern Conference and the league with a record of 23 wins and 2 losses, while the Rockets are ranked second in the Western Conference and fourth in the league with a record of 19 wins and 5 losses, but also because these two teams have been the two best teams in the league over the past few years!
From 1991 to 1996, the Bulls and Rockets won the championship for six consecutive years, and Jordan and Olajuwon, the leaders of their respective teams, won all the Finals MVP awards in the past six years!
In addition, Jordan of the Bulls won 3 MVPs in the past 6 years, while Barkley and Olajuwon of the Rockets each won one!
In other words, apart from David Robinson in 1995, players from these two teams have shared five of the league's MVP awards over the past six years!
Meanwhile, although the Rockets and the Bulls, Jordan and Olajuwon, the first and third picks of the 1984 golden generation, never met in the NBA Finals.
But today, Drexler and Barkley of the Rockets were defeated by Jordan and the Bulls in the Finals in 1992 and 1993, respectively!
With the strongest team, the best record, and the most outstanding players, plus past grudges and rivalries, it's no wonder that this match is so highly anticipated!
For the Rockets, although they lost very strong players such as Sam Cassell, Kenny Smith, and Robert Horry during the offseason, the departure of these role players seems insignificant with the acquisition of Barkley.
Not to mention that even without these three strong role players, the Rockets still managed to acquire former All-Star center Kevin Willis, who is good at both offense and defense, and trade for forward Eddie Jensen from the Pacers. They also drafted Matt Maloney, who is a very capable player who has secured a starting position at point guard after joining the team.
With players like Mario Elie, Sam Mark, and Matt Brad who have been with the Rockets for a long time, this Rockets team is still a force to be reckoned with!
Of course, their true core is still the Big Three, which is hailed as the best trio in the league right now!
Hakeem Olajuwon ("The Dream"), Charles Barkley ("The Flying Pig"), and Clyde Drexler ("The Glide")!
Without exception, all three are regulars in the All-Star Game and the All-NBA Team. Hakeem Olajuwon and Charles Barkley are both top-tier players of MVP caliber. Although Clyde Drexler has never won an MVP, he has led his team to the Finals and has been working diligently with the Rockets for the past two years, remaining a top-tier swingman in the league!
So far this season, the Big Three have combined for over 60 points, 28 rebounds, 15 assists and over 5 steals!
This trio's combination struck fear into the hearts of the entire league!
If this Rockets team has any weaknesses, it's that their Big Three are all over 30 years old. Although they are still at the tail end of their peak, their stamina and physical condition have begun to decline. In this respect, they are obviously not as good as Jordan, Pippen, and Lin Tian of the Bulls.
But the good news for the Rockets is that, like the Bulls, they had three days of rest before the Christmas Day game. Compared to the young and strong Bulls, this rest was obviously more important for the Rockets!
Their veterans can get themselves into top form over these three days and come to Chicago in perfect condition to challenge the Bulls!
In the Bulls' home locker room, Jackson looked at his players. Just moments before, he had patiently analyzed the Rockets' playing style and habits for them. Seeing the players getting a little impatient, Jackson didn't find it tedious at all and continued his analysis.
"Without a doubt, the Rockets' offensive power in the paint is definitely greater than ours. Barkley and Olajuwon are definitely top-five low-post offensive players in the league. Add Drexler, the best fast break finisher in the league over the past decade, and this team should not be underestimated in either fast break or half-court offense."
"But their weaknesses are also obvious: speed, interior agility, age, and stamina! Tonight we must play to our strengths and exploit those weaknesses!"
"Lin, you're still the assault captain. Once you get the ball, launch a fast break as quickly as possible! Push forward quickly, and regardless of whether the fast break succeeds or not, you must pick up the pace. Make their two big men follow you around like they're running their legs off!"
"Michael, Scott, you two shouldn't get too involved in the fast breaks today. You two should get back to the basket and protect the rebounds! I absolutely don't want to see Olajuwon and Barkley wreaking havoc under our basket, I don't want to see them grab offensive rebounds again and again and score on second-chance opportunities!"
"So, besides Scott and Michael, Dennis, your task is just as important! Whether you can withstand those two guys' onslaught on the offensive rebounds is the key to our victory tonight!"
"Everyone else, you must remember one thing: this Rockets team has an incredibly strong and experienced interior defense! To beat them, the two most important things are decisiveness and speed! I want all of you to shoot whenever you have an open shot, and drive to the basket whenever you have the chance. No hesitation, and no giving the Rockets any breathing room!"
"We need to press our advantage and overwhelm them from the start, raising the intensity of our defense right from the beginning! Understand?"
"clear!"
The Bulls players were chanting in unison, their morale was extremely high!
"Great, then let's watch the Rockets' offensive highlights again this season and take a good look at their offensive strategies! Their offense isn't just about one-on-one in the low post; Olajuwon and Barkley's inside-out passing, playmaking, and distribution abilities are absolutely not to be underestimated!"
That's always been Jackson's style.
He is calm and collected when directing the game, sometimes even too lazy to stand up. But when it comes to strategizing and analyzing the opponent's characteristics before the game, he is meticulous and focused to the point of being annoying.
But it is precisely this style of strategically respecting opponents while tactically disregarding them that has enabled Jackson to lead the Bulls to four championships, and that number continues to grow.
The Rockets' tactical arrangements were equally meticulous and serious, and their head coach was also a top-tier coach: Tomjanovich.
Tomjanovich is no stranger to Chinese fans. As a Rockets legend, he not only coached Hakeem Olajuwon, leading the Rockets to two championships, but will also coach Yao Ming in the future, becoming Yao's first head coach in the NBA.
Tomjanovich is best known to fans for two things.
One of them was when he was punched in the head by Lakers' Washington on the court, which splattered his brains. Because of this punch, Tomjanovich underwent five surgeries and was out for a whole year before returning to the court. He became the person who was beaten the most badly on the court in the entire history of the NBA.
Another thing is the famous quote that Tomjanovich said to everyone on his way to the championship with the Rockets.
Never underestimate a heart that yearns for a championship!
In the Rockets' locker room, Tomjanovich remained incredibly energetic, delivering a passionate speech to the players, introducing and analyzing the Bulls' characteristics and playing style.
"We can't guard Michael Jordan! I believe that's the consensus of all of us. We really lack a top-tier perimeter defender. Clyde, I know what you're trying to say, I know you're not afraid of Jordan, but I'm not going to let you guard him. That would completely shut you down on offense!"
"Mario, you guard Michael! Just do your best, stay close to him, don't let him shoot easily, force him to the basket to finish the offense. Hakeem will help you on defense!"
"Clyde, you're in charge of Pippen!"
"And then there's their second-year guard, Lin! He's the player the Bulls need to be most wary of this year besides Jordan! His speed, his ability to move the ball up the court, and his ability to play transition offense and defense are absolutely the best in the league right now! Clyde, I know what you're going to say, put your hands down."
"You used to be the best at fast breaks and transition offense in this league, but you're not anymore. Lin is the one! If you're not convinced, you can compete against him in a game and see who has the better fast break and drive ability."
"So, since it's difficult to contain Jordan, what we need to do is focus more on this kid! Try to contain him as much as possible! And the best way to contain him is to control the rebounds!"
"Hakeem, Charles, and Kevin, the three of you have a clear advantage against the Bulls' interior defense! Your rebounding ability is far superior to theirs! Charles, your job is to keep Rodman away from the paint so he can't grab rebounds!"
"Hakim, you can decide whether to grab an offensive rebound or quickly retreat on defense based on the situation on the court. I trust your choice! Like Charles, your offense should be as close to the basket as possible, grab as many offensive rebounds as possible, and even if you can't grab them, you should make it difficult for them to quickly find Lin after grabbing the rebound."
"Without rebounds, without first passes, without fast breaks—if you can do these things, Lin's impact on the court will be greatly reduced! Matt, you need to stick to Lin at all times, disrupt his offense, prevent him from advancing, slow him down, and force him into a positional game!"
"Finally, on offense, start by attacking the paint, with Charles and Hakeem. Let them dominate the Bulls' interior, forcing the Bulls' perimeter players to double-team. Then, Charles and Hakeem, pass the ball out!"
"Mario, Matt, if you two get an opportunity beyond the three-point line, don't hesitate, don't overthink it, shoot! I won't blame you for missing, but if you're too afraid to shoot, then you're out here resting, understand?"
"clear!"
Like the Bulls, the Rockets were united and made extensive preparations.
Tonight's Christmas Day game is the most anticipated regular season matchup in the entire United States!
Nobody wants to lose, and nobody is willing to lose!
An hour before the match, the players from both sides finally left the locker room and headed towards the field.
Just as the entire Bulls team was running out, Jackson suddenly called out to Lin Tian.
"Lin, I remember during our opening game, you said your goal this season was to make the All-Star team, right?"
"Yes, I hope to become an All-Star player." Lin Tian looked at Jackson, somewhat guessing what this psychological warfare master was up to.
This is going to be a motivational speech!
"Lin, I suddenly remembered, you studied psychology in college, at the University of Pennsylvania, one of the world's top universities, right?"
"Yes, I graduated from the Psychology Department of the University of Pennsylvania." Jackson's words left Lin Tian a little confused. What was this old man trying to do? Why was he asking which school he graduated from?
"It's great that you graduated with a degree in psychology! I won't have to waste so much energy giving you pep talks and motivational speeches!" Jackson said with a smile. "The first phase of All-Star voting for this season has ended, and you're ranked third among Eastern Conference backcourts."
"First is Michael with 110 million votes, second is Hardaway with 51 votes, and third is you with 38 votes. You don't need to worry about being overtaken by that kid from Philadelphia who's in fourth place. He only has 20 votes. Your third place is very secure."
"Alright, I've finished speaking. You can fill in the rest with your own thoughts and logic. I won't waste my breath!" Jackson suddenly stopped talking, patted Lin Tian on the shoulder, and said, "Having a player who studies psychology is great! I don't need to give you pep talks; you guys can definitely do it yourselves!"
"Go for it, Lin! I believe in you!"
Lin Tian walked out of the locker room with a strange expression on his face.
Is this even possible?
Drinking chicken soup, and you can even make it yourself? How lazy is Michael Jackson these days!
I will fill in the rest according to my own logic and thinking.
Listen to this! Is this even human language?!
Jackson, that old scoundrel, really is...
You have a really good eye for people!
Lin Tian really didn't need Jackson to give him pep talks. He knew better than anyone his current situation regarding the All-Star voting.
First of all, as a second-year player, I am seriously lacking in experience. In addition, with the Bulls' Big Three on the team, some people will unconsciously overlook Lin Tian.
Of course, the biggest reason why Lin Tian only got so few votes is that the All-Star voting channel was not opened in China! More than 99% of Chinese fans didn't even know they could vote.
Of course, there were also a very small number of fans who knew they could vote for the NBA All-Stars. They wrote letters, cast their votes, and then mailed the letters across the ocean to the NBA headquarters in New York.
However, compared to the hundreds of thousands or even millions of votes available now, there are still far too few Chinese fans willing to vote for Lin Tian!
Otherwise, just by looking at how rookie Yao Ming had Shaquille O'Neal at his peak as his backup, one can imagine how many votes Lin Tian would actually get!
Given Lin Tian's current popularity in China, let alone a mere Hardaway, Lin Tian is confident that he can definitely shout that sentence to the entire backcourt of the league.
"I'm going to take on ten!"
No way! We have to find an opportunity this year to get Stern to open up the voting channel for Chinese fans! You can't keep talking about the globalization of the NBA but not even give Chinese fans the right to vote!
This process must be accelerated!
Besides the starting lineup, the bench players are selected by a vote of all 29 coaches in the league. Coaches cannot choose players from their own teams. It's worth noting that there are personal relationships in the NBA. When two players are of similar skill and ability, coaches will prioritize players they are more familiar with.
Compared to Lin Tian, who has only played for a year and a half, players who have played in the league for many years, such as Tim Hardaway, Reggie Miller, and Joe Dumars, have a greater advantage.
Another point is that no matter what coaches say or how magnanimous they seem on the surface, they will absolutely not choose players who have a grudge against them.
Therefore, coaches like Van Gundy of the Knicks, Sloan of the Jazz, and Karl of the SuperSonics, who either had conflicts with Lin Tian or were eliminated by Lin Tian's teams, as well as coaches who had good relationships with them, are also unlikely to choose Lin Tian.
This means that if Lin Tian fails to make the All-Star starting lineup, his chances of being selected as an All-Star reserve are extremely slim, given his lack of experience and average popularity!
Therefore, if Lin Tian wants to play in the All-Star Game, he must become a starter!
He needs to be one of the top two players in the Eastern Conference backcourt voting!
Jordan's terrifying popularity, which broke a million in the first phase, has already created a precipitous lead over others, making him completely negligible.
What remains is for Lin Tian to have a head-to-head contest and a popularity showdown with "Penny" Hardaway!
As is well known, Hardaway has been a heartthrob since entering the league due to his elegant playing style, flashy style of play, and relatively handsome appearance.
The reason he was able to lead Lin Tian by so much in the first stage of the votes, besides his existing popularity, was that he had crushed the Bulls in the game about ten days ago!
Having become the Magic's sole star, he snatched a victory from the Bulls!
It was this game that made the gap between him and Lin Tian begin to widen significantly!
However, for Lin Tian, there were two pieces of good news!
One is that before the end of the second phase of All-Star voting, in early January, the Bulls and Magic will have a head-to-head matchup. At that time, Lin Tian will have a chance to defeat Hardaway and regain his pride. That game will also be broadcast live across the United States, so its importance is self-evident.
Another piece of good news is that Lin Tian is with the Bulls, who have the most nationally televised games in the entire league. He has plenty of opportunities to prove himself in front of audiences across the United States!
Tonight is the best and most important of all the opportunities!
This match is attracting attention on par with the finals!
The Rockets' Big Three versus the Bulls' Big Three – no one wouldn't want to watch this kind of game!
In particular, the Rockets are notoriously top-heavy, with a formidable twin towers in the paint and Drexler and Mario Elie on the wing, but their point guard position is the weakest of all their positions!
With both Cassell, who could score, and Smith, who could organize, leaving the team, they had no choice but to use Matt Maloney, a rookie whose experience, ability, skills, and immediate impact were all mediocre, as the team's starting point guard.
Dry him to death!
Lin Tian had only one thought in his mind.
I may not be able to beat Barkley or Olajuwon, but am I really inferior to you, a minor player who flashed through the NBA and left no classic moments?
I'll crush you! And then, for my All-Star start, onward!
Yes, Jackson is absolutely right.
There's no need to give Lin Tian any pep talks or make him any chicken soup.
Mr. Lin is someone who knows how to mentally prepare himself!
Soon, the warm-up time for both sides ended, and the ten starting players took to the field.
The Bulls still use their unchanging starting lineup, the trio of the "iron triangle" plus Longley and Lin Tian.
The Rockets' starting lineup was equally dazzling, with the MVP duo of Olajuwon and Barkley partnering in the frontcourt, Drexler and Elie on the wing, and rookie guard Matt Maloney forming their starting five!
Both teams' key players have been in the NBA for many years and are very familiar rivals. So, as soon as they stepped onto the court, they started trash-talking each other without any restraint!
"Hakeem, I heard you're still a virgin?" Jordan said to his fellow number one draft pick, Olajuwon. "Want me to find you an old lady in Chicago to relieve your pent-up desires?"
"Shut up, Michael! Your mouth stinks like you just ate three pounds of shit!" Hakeem Olajuwon wasn't much of a trash talker, so Barkley naturally stepped in to defend his teammate: "Also, I heard your team has a new leader? Who is it again? Let me meet him!"
"It's me! I'm here!" Barkley had originally wanted to provoke Jordan, but Lin Tian quickly raised his hand and said, "Charles, you know a lot about basketball! You can tell I'm the boss now!"
"Get lost!" Jordan rolled his eyes in annoyance and said to Barkley, "If you hit this kid later, I won't interfere. Go ahead and do it."
"Do you think I've lost my memory?" Barkley sneered. "I remember very well how this kid knocked out Karl last year!"
"I'd have to be out of my mind to fight him! I like hitting people, but I don't like getting hit! If we're really going to fight, Dennis, can you take a beating?"
"Go ahead and try, you fatso! If you dare to mess with me, I'll make sure you leave tonight in a wheelchair! No, for the next month, you'll be stuck in a wheelchair!" When did Rodman become someone easy to bully? He opened his mouth and spat back at Barkley.
Lin Tian watched as the big shots argued back and forth, then chuckled and approached Marlonny, who was about to face him, saying, "You must be Matt! Congratulations."
"Congratulations to me? Congratulations on what?" Marlonny, a rookie who had only played in the NBA for a little over a month, was immediately stumped by Lin Tian's question.
"Congratulations on participating in the most important match of your career!" Lin Tian patted Marloni on the shoulder with a mischievous grin. "You'll be remembered as a background character in history. From now on, whenever someone mentions me, they'll say: 'In that match, Lin performed perfectly and casually crushed a guy named Marlon Martine!'"
"It's Matt Maloney!"
"Okay, buddy, my dear Manny Matteron!"
"Matt Marlonny!"
"Tema Nimarong!"
"Matt Nimralon!"
"Right, Matt Nimralon!" Lin Tian said with a smile, "Since you have no objection to your name, let's start fighting!"
