Fairy Tail: You call this Celestial Spirit Magic?!

Chapter 12: The World of Magic is So Cruel

Chapter 12: The World of Magic is So Cruel

Magical meditation is a very important form of training for mages.

Battles between mages, whether magical or hand-to-hand, all require the use of magic.

In close combat, the released magic can form a magical shield to resist enemy attacks. This can be understood as similar to releasing internal energy to protect oneself, using powerful energy to safeguard oneself.

This is the simplest way to use it; you don't need to learn any complicated defensive magic to use it. However, it's a bit inefficient and wastes magic power, making it suitable for mages with abundant magic power and great strength.

For example, Moon, Laxus, Erza, and Natsu are all geniuses who have possessed immense magical power since childhood.

Laxus is so powerful not because of the "Dragon Slayer Crystal," which merely gave him the opportunity to unleash his talent. His magical power was already terrifying, to the point that his body couldn't withstand it.

Natsu looks about the same; "Dragon Slayer Magic" is clearly not the key reason why he is stronger than his peers.

Then there's Erza, who uses a very basic "dress-up magic" to become more powerful than those who use powerful magic.

That's talent, that's the power of numbers.

There are no ordinary or weak spells, only ordinary and weak mages. No matter how powerful the spell, if you don't have the talent or the stats aren't high enough, you can't even use it.

The world of magic is just that cruel.

Of course, while talent determines a large part of one's magical power, one can also increase it through cultivation.

This is a slow and gradual process that requires extremely high concentration, and it definitely cannot be effective in a short period of time.

Using magic meditation serves two purposes: firstly, it allows the body to unleash its full potential and expand its "pool"; secondly, it draws magic from the outside world to replenish one's own "magic source," also in order to expand the pool.

"Buzz!"

As the magic flowed continuously, Moen carefully sensed the source of magic within his body, which resembled a galaxy vortex. Tiny specks of azure magic energy flowed into it, slowly expanding it. This sense of solidity in gradually becoming stronger was the most reassuring.

In the study room, Levy watched Natsu write furiously while secretly glancing at Moen, who was sitting quietly cross-legged to the side.

Levy's magical talent wasn't particularly outstanding, at least not compared to the top kids in the guild like Moen.

Even so, she could clearly sense the magical fluctuations emanating from Moen's side.

In Levy's perception, Moen's body was like a vortex with tremendous suction, greedily absorbing the surrounding magic power. The invisible magic power in the air seemed to materialize and be swallowed into Moen's body.

"Moen, that's amazing!"

Levy couldn't help but feel envious. Although she was already considered talented compared to most mages and most of her peers, her talent was indeed not enough in the Fairy Tail guild because everyone else was very outstanding.

Fortunately, Levy is diligent enough and has a magic that suits her, such as 3D text magic, which allows her to gain a foothold in the Fairy Tail guild. Levy believes that hard work can make up for lack of talent and that everyone has their own expertise. She has a high level of research on magic theory and has a wealth of theoretical knowledge at a young age.

'If I were to start meditating now, I probably wouldn't be able to absorb even a single bit of external magic...'

Looking at Moen, Levy thought to herself.

Among the younger generation of the Fairy Tail guild, Moen is undoubtedly the focus and the true leader of the kids. These guild orphans all grew up following Moen around.

In the beginning, Laxus actually played with everyone, but as he entered puberty and became more and more concerned about the opinions of others, he gradually drifted away from everyone and transformed from a kind older brother into a cold and aloof guy.

When Laxus was still the gentle older brother, the other children were either very young or hadn't even joined the guild yet. So for most of them, Moen was the real kind older brother, the one who radiated light.

"Finished writing!"

Just as Levy was stealing glances at Moen, Natsu suddenly shouted, startling little Levy.

"Huh? Where's Moen?"

When Natsu looked up and saw Levy, he was momentarily stunned. He had been so focused that he hadn't noticed that someone else was supervising him. Or rather, this was the norm for this single-minded creature.

"Moeng is meditating, I'll check on him."

Levy breathed a sigh of relief. Natsu had clearly not noticed that she had been distracted, so she picked up Natsu's notebook with a serious expression.

"emmm~~~"

Looking at the scribbles in the notebook, Levy was completely exasperated. For a literature-loving girl like her to look at such words was pure mental torture.

"I'll do it, Levy, thank you."

As Levy frowned as she examined the notebook, Moen's voice rang out. He held out his hand, gesturing for Levy to give him Natsu's notebook.

"Huh? Moeng, are you done meditating?"

Levy exclaimed "Ah!" and quickly handed over the workbook.

The girl was flustered. Had Moen not noticed that she had been secretly watching him? Although it wasn't a big deal, she would still feel a little embarrassed if he found out.

"Yeah, Natsu's been making so much noise."

Moen chuckled and ruffled Levy's hair. He noticed something: Levy actually had a lot of hair.

"I didn't mean to..."

Natsu muttered something under his breath, then urged him to hurry up and let Moen leave the study room.

He felt uncomfortable in the room filled with literary atmosphere, and he wanted to go outside and work up a sweat immediately!

"Can you understand these words?"

Moen took Natsu's notebook, glanced at it, and then threw it back to Natsu, since he hadn't understood a single word of it.

"Of course!"

Natsu picked up the workbook and began to read it word by word, looking quite serious. This made Moen and Levy look suspicious. Could this guy really understand it?

"Alright."

After Natsu finished reading, Moen hissed and finally announced that Natsu had passed the check, but he still didn't let Natsu off the hook and pulled him back as he was about to run away.

"As agreed, it's meditation time next."

Grabbing Natsu by the back of his neck, Moen forcefully pressed him down onto the floor. Natsu was too lively, as if he had inexhaustible energy; he was practically unstoppable.

"Meditation..."

"But I don't need to! Brother Moen, I can become stronger simply by eating flames!"

Pressed down to sit, Natsu felt like he had nails stuck in his buttocks, constantly shifting and fidgeting. He didn't want to engage in tedious meditation; he preferred physical exercise to meditation.
