Chapter 761 The Nameless Old Dragon Returns from the Apocalypse, Its Shadow Brings Calamity
Chapter 761 The Nameless Old Dragon Returns from the Apocalypse, Its Shadow Brings Calamity
Chapter 761 The Nameless Old Dragon Returns from the Apocalypse, the Shadow Calamity's Nature is Like Bronze
"Is it really worth it, old friend? After everything that's happened, are you still letting history continue down the same path as before?"
A voice rang in Shadow Calamity's ear, like the hoarse groan of a lonely old dragon.
But Shadow Calamity ignored the voice.
He looked different from before; some kind of change had occurred in Shadow Calamity. The composure and confidence he had when he first met the first Lanternman, during his first time traveling through time, had vanished.
A somber, gloomy atmosphere settled in his eyes, as if after countless cycles of reincarnation, despair and anger had been drained away time and time again, leaving only the mangled body chasing its goal and the oppressive deathly aura.
"Are you well aware that the World Maker's promises are nothing but lies, that he will replace everything you pursue with a fabricated doll, or have you finally come to your senses after all this time and decided to accept that inflatable doll to fill the void in your emotional life?"
Shadow Calamity remained unmoved by the mocking voice, even though its words had become extremely sarcastic and cutting.
"Yes, I know... You're planning to try again, aren't you? Our giant baby, after going through so much, still wants to resurrect his mother, even at the cost of the collapse of the multiverse?"
"Enough," said Shadow Calamity.
"You want to snatch chestnuts from the fire, even at the cost of becoming the monkey whose paw gets scalded? Do you think the World Maker is a fool? Do you think you can beat him if you start over?"
The voice seemed to have expected Shadow Calamity to be provoked, but the other party simply closed his eyes: "Don't waste your energy, old friend. I won't be persuaded by you. Save your strength."
And so, like countless times before, this argument ended in silence.
Then Shadow Calamity heard the voice say, "I will help you."
"I know," Shadow Calamity replied. "Just as I won't give up on my goal, you won't give up on redeeming yourself for your past mistakes. We're the same, aren't we? If you could learn to let go, we wouldn't be here now. I knew you would help."
"And I have only one request," the Shadow Calamity heard the voice say to him.
"What is it?" Shadow Calamity asked. "You know very well that I will stop at nothing to achieve my goals, so you'd better not expect me to agree to anything. If this matter conflicts with my ultimate objective, I will certainly abandon any promises I make to you."
"No, I only have one request, a very simple one." But Shadow Calamity heard the other say, "Keep being this persistent forever, until the very end of the story..."
The voice said in a deep voice, "Whether it's you or me..."
"We were already aware of this!"
"Ah... my old friend..."
"I hope that when we reach the very end, we will have no regrets."
The voice disappeared after it finished speaking.
A few seconds later, the gloom in Shadow Calamity's eyes dissipated like snow, and he became once again the first Lantern Knight, who had just transmigrated through the time-travel arc and was full of ambition to save his own history.
He was thinking calmly, completely unaware of what had just happened. Some kind of cognitive impairment made Shadow Calamity completely ignore what had just occurred. No one in the world but Calamity himself could do such a thing.
Very well, so history is now in disarray, and the Shadow of Calamity is pondering.
Because of the butterfly effect he stirred up, the history of the original Lantern Man has been greatly changed by his shadow, and he is now much stronger than in the original history. He is finally qualified to intervene in the integration of diversity, instead of just watching the protagonists sing and dance on stage.
The Emperor Joker, who once held sway over diverse and integrated forces, has been completely transformed into Batman Dragon's spoils of war due to the intervention of Shadow Bane. Even better news is that Batman Dragon's power is now far weaker than it was in the original history.
So far, under the butterfly effect collectively stirred up by Shadow Calamity and the Third Legion members he manipulates, every potential enemy involved in the multi-dimensional fusion has been weakened to varying degrees, while only the power of Lantern One has been greatly enhanced.
Although the alteration of history caused Shadow Calamity to lose a large part of his precognitive abilities, it did not affect his ability to formulate plans.
According to the information revealed to him by the world's forgers...
Shadow Calamity's mind suddenly went blank for a moment. He shook his head, completely unaware that one of his thoughts had been erased.
Completely oblivious to the problem, he continued to ponder:
Based on the intelligence he had gathered, he speculated that Batman Dragon, Superman Supreme, and Barbatos, the Dark Multiverse Dragon, probably had a plan to create crisis energy in the main universe.
After confirming the result, he came up with a bunch of reasons why he would have realized this information.
This is an attribution theory; people will always try to explain their behavior and rationalize it.
They don't want to admit they have a problem.
Shadow Calamity thought to himself.
Oh, crisis energy. This thing must originate from the moment a crisis occurs; it can be actively created. It's part of the underlying code written into the entire multiverse.
(Note: During the Death Metal arc, The Laughing created three universes: Infinite Crisis, Infinite Earth Crisis, and Final Crisis. He gave them to Superman Supreme, Anti-Monitor, and Darkseid, and then had them enter them to produce Crisis Energy like farming crops in a QQ Farm game.)
In response to this plan, the creators extended an olive branch to the first Lantern.
If he can help the Founders get the Crisis Energy they've channeled into the Cosmic Tuning Fork into Brainiac's hands, while also preventing the Batman Who Laughs and his master from obtaining it, the World Founders will be able to reverse the tragedy of Earth-15 while replacing the current multiverse with their own.
This is what the first Lantern Man wanted. The World Builder is a sixth-dimensional god. If anyone can move Earth 15, then only he has the ability.
For example, he had just temporarily pulled Huo Rong's mother out of the timeline and made him see her existence.
Although the mother and son cannot truly communicate... the World Builder broke the time-flow paradox that the first Lantern could never find his mother, essentially forcing the time-flow to apologize to Calamity by the throat.
This is no less than squeezing a storm with your bare hands.
Huo Rong realized that it really was his mother, not some parallel universe, nor some fake; he could feel it.
Actually, there is a seemingly counterintuitive truth: Huo Rong is not only not unfamiliar with time travel, but is actually quite familiar with it.
Hundreds of millions of years ago, Huo Rong manipulated the shuttle lamp to travel through the infinite multiverse.
During the incident of the first Lantern's rage, he was even able to see the past and future for a moment, and even glimpse a parallel universe timeline in which Athocitas, the Red Lantern, did not become the Red Lantern, but instead became a tyrant.
So the World Maker can't fool him; his grand dream is really going to come true, and he will do anything to save his mother.
Therefore, Shadow Calamity now has a plan.
Before this, both he and the first Lantern were merely temporarily sheltered under the Laughing Maniac. The Laughing Maniac did not trust him, and he was never loyal to him either.
While they weren't exactly harboring the idea of the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind, they were at least more inclined to grab some energy and then escape, continuing to collect energy as before.
Prior to this, their goal had always been more focused on the era of multi-dimensional integration. As long as they could seize the energy Brainiac had finally extracted, what was happening now—the battle between the Trapped and the Supreme Superman in the main universe…
None of this has anything to do with the first Lantern Man. He is only trying to temporarily increase their strength, not to save the "main course" of his home planet Earth's 15th anniversary.
But now, the thing to be stolen has changed from one thing to everything, which is undoubtedly more dangerous, but it's all worth it to save his mother.
However, just as Shadow Calamity was about to begin his operation and increase the leverage of his adventure, he suddenly felt that the backup plan he had left on Reverse-Flash allowed him to sense the other party's location. What was going on? Shouldn't Reverse-Flash have been captured and imprisoned by the Batman Who Laughs at this moment, or had he already been persuaded to join their side?
Why is he desperately trying to escape, and why does he look like he's seriously injured and on the verge of death?
Another question is, didn't the Laughing Bat notice that the other party had run away?
Shadow Calamity hesitated for a moment. He considered whether to warn the Batman Who Laughs, fearing that the other party already knew about Reverse-Flash's escape and was merely testing him. However, after thinking for a while, he decided against it and flew directly out of the window in the direction Reverse-Flash had gone.
……
……
……
Thomas Wayne from the main universe is helping Martha Wayne, or rather, the Joker Martha Wayne, as they flee through the vast desert.
Since being kidnapped by that guy in the yellow suit who looked a lot like The Flash, Thomas knew his name: Reverse-Flash.
That guy used to check on them every now and then. But somehow, this routine was broken by some external force, which gave them the chance to escape.
Thomas used the stars to orient himself and also prepared plenty of food and water.
If they walk another 20 kilometers or so, they should be able to see signs of human habitation, and then they will have completely escaped.
Thomas thought to himself that once he returned to the Batcave, he would definitely find out the truth and take precautions against the kidnapper who had abducted him, because even the fastest was not invincible.
If he's intentionally targeting someone who's not, he'll definitely...
Just as Thomas Wayne was thinking this, he saw a yellow figure that filled him with despair appear in front of him.
To mortals, Reverse Lightning appears as if it were teleportation.
"Damn it, how did you guys escape from the base? Fine, I'll start with you."
Reverse Lightning thought.
"I captured Batman's father and mother, making him a man with both parents alive. That's more than enough as a pledge of allegiance to Batman Dragon."
He reached out and instantly wrapped the Wayne couple, who were carrying large and small bags, up like dumplings.
"Well, the best gift for an orphan is a healthy pair of parents."
With that thought in mind, Reverse Flash picked up the two people he had found in the desert and set off to seek refuge with Batman Dragon.
Then he saw the first Genie hovering in mid-air.
He followed Reverse Lightning's trail all the way here.
