Chapter 429 Supreme Mage Mordo
Chapter 429 Supreme Mage Mordo
A mage was being gripped by the neck by a melee warrior with extremely high stats; logically, the battle should have ended at this point.
But with Doctor Doom as their opponent, Joey dared not relax for a moment: "Want to give it a try?"
What if the other party just wants to test whether his spells are faster or the Kryptonian's reaction speed is faster?
Just as Doctor Doom, who was possessing Tony's body, was about to say something, Joey's fist came flying down, knocking out one of his teeth on the spot.
This wasn't a personal grudge; he was just afraid that Doctor Doom would cast a spell.
Watching Superman lift Tony Stark high in the air like a chick, punching and kicking him, his eyes gleaming with an extremely dangerous red light.
Black Widow was getting a little uneasy. She quietly asked Captain America, "We didn't choose the wrong side, did we?"
It looks like Superman is really going to kill Stark!
"Whether he lives or dies is none of my business!" Tony, in his spirit form, pointed at the living people present. "He's not me!"
If there's anything Tony learned while trapped in Jarvis's data space, it's that his soul no longer had to move in a dog-paddle manner like it did the first time it left his body.
Now, he can teleport four or five meters away in an instant with just a thought.
Tony was cheering for Joey, unaware that his soul was growing increasingly dim, to the point that no one could hear him anymore.
Batman, having looked around and not finding Tony's spirit, retrieved the N-metal card from his grappling hook and gripped it again. He then caught the still-pulsating Tony's spirit: "Calm down, Iron Man. Don't you notice you're getting more and more of a jerk?"
"I've always been this bastard—" Tony, still leaping and bounding about in his spirit form, wanted to give Doctor Doom the middle finger and say a few more lewd things, but little did he know that his finger was almost just an outline: "Wait, which 'bastard' are you talking about?"
"That's exactly what I mean." Batman, wielding N-metal, pulled Tony's floating soul into the server room like a helium balloon: "We need to find a way to get your soul back into your body."
Not everyone's soul is suited to being exposed to the outside world for a long time. Moreover, Tony has been flashing and communicating with the living for half a day. If he continues to wander like this, he might be blown away by a gust of cold wind in no time.
Hearing that he would soon be back in his body, Tony, in his spirit form, grinned from ear to ear, rubbing his hands together eagerly beside the server room: "Hooray! Doctor Doom, you just wait!"
Once he gets his body back, Tony will definitely make Doctor Doom feel his passion.
He was going to lock this guy back into Jarvis's data space, and he would never ignore him like the other guy had ignored him.
A guy like Tony would definitely turn on the microphone every day and humiliate the other person a dozen or twenty times!
But after waiting for a while, Tony realized that Batman was just standing there, not making a move. He hurriedly urged him, "What are you waiting for? I'm already in this state, get to work!"
"Did I just say 'find a way'?" Batman calmly stood there, resting his chin on his hand. "Let me think about how to get you back."
Batman isn't some great wizard; his ability to extract souls is entirely due to N metal. This peculiar metal allows users to access things that ordinary people cannot, but that's about all the power he has.
We can't exactly let him pull Doctor Doom's soul out of Tony Stark's body, can we?
From the perspective of everyone who could no longer see Tony's spirit, Batman was simply performing a series of prop-less acts, such as "holding a balloon" to thin air.
Later, the Human Torch, Luke Cage, and Sandman, without thinking, huddled together and cautiously whispered, "If you ask me, Batman is a bit crazy."
"Don't talk nonsense." Batman, who was speaking to thin air, was already familiar with Tony's spirit. Captain America, who had clearly seen Tony's spirit before, guessed that the other person was definitely not talking to thin air: "The other person is probably speaking to Tony's spirit in heaven—we don't fully understand magic."
"You old popsicle!"
Upon hearing this, Tony wished he could come back to life right now and start yelling at Captain America. "Does this old man even know how to speak? He can even say something like 'the spirit in heaven'!"
He's just been possessed by someone, he's not dead!
"There are only three steps to take now—the first step is to pull Doctor Doom's soul out of my body; the second step is to put my soul back in; and the third step is to lock Doctor Doom up."
Tony explained the steps clearly, and then almost laughed at himself.
Anyone can say that, right? This isn't the same kind of joke as "how to put an elephant in a refrigerator," is it?
One method is to open the refrigerator first, put the elephant inside, and then close the refrigerator.
It's easy to explain, but impossible to do. Where can I find such a big refrigerator?
Rather, building a refrigerator that can fit an elephant wouldn't be difficult for Tony, who's into science, but manipulating souls is where his knowledge is lacking.
No one knows how to swap Tony's soul with Doctor Doom's.
"Who said there isn't?"
Joey brought the knocked-out Doctor Doom over and had Batman put him into a Green Lantern container.
After receiving the N-metal tarot cards from Batman, Joey was able to capture Tony's already incredibly vengeful spirit.
With those two items in hand, Joey flew toward a corner of New York: "Get the blood collection equipment, the analysis equipment, and everything else you need ready. I'll be right back."
The Ancient One, the Sorcerer Supreme, established three magical nexus locations around the world that directly connect to Kamar-Taj, and one of these three Sanctuaries happens to be located in New York City.
117A Brick Street in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, is the only place unaffected by the ice.
These reclusive and isolated magicians seem to be too isolated; they remain oblivious to the major events unfolding in New York City.
Since Doctor Doom is still alive and kicking, I wonder what has become of the Ancient One?
Joey knocked on the door of the old, detached building on its rooftop and tentatively called out two names: "The Ancient One? — Strange?"
"Good heavens, stop banging!" With a loud crash, the door was pulled open from the inside, and a helpless sigh came from within: "This isn't knocking, it's practically shaking the building! You're about to tear this whole building apart!"
Joey looked up and saw a man in a green robe with dark skin. It was Mordo, Strange's senior apprentice and the Ancient One's former student: "My teacher hasn't returned yet, so you might be wasting your time looking for her. But who is Strange?"
"Stephen Strange? Isn't he learning magic here?"
"I don't know," Mordo shook his head. "Never heard of it."
Joey was taken aback. The Ancient One had already met her end, so why hadn't Doctor Strange started learning from her yet?
If he doesn't travel across the ocean to become a disciple of the Ancient One, wouldn't the position of the Sorcerer Supreme be vacant?
"My teacher is gone and will never return, so—"
Mordo, who had just opened the door sideways, straightened up, revealing the Eye of Agamotto hanging on his chest: "Only I can shoulder the burden of Kamar-Taj first."
The Eye of Agamotto is a powerful artifact that the Ancient One has used for centuries as a container for the Time Stone.
Normally, this sacred artifact is only possessed by qualified individuals, such as the Sorcerer Supreme on Earth.
"Just think of it as a desperate measure; I need your help!"
Glancing at Tony, who was growing increasingly dazed behind him, Joey pushed aside the Sorcerer Supreme Mordo and headed into the Sanctum Sanctorum. Whatever, whether it was Strange, the Ancient One, or Mordo, which Sorcerer Supreme couldn't heal them all?
