Chapter 39 Entering the Painting
Chapter 39 Entering the Painting
The electric current caused excruciating pain as it passed through her body, and Tian Tian collapsed to her knees in agony.
Immediately afterwards, her feet were pulled up and she was pulled backward, causing her to fall flat on the ground.
She clung desperately to the ground, trying to slow down the dragging, but the ground was too slippery, and her efforts seemed futile.
Tian Tian strained to raise her neck and look ahead.
A disturbance broke out among the reporters under the glaring sunlight.
Soon, tall fountains of blood gushed forth from the crowd, one after another, quickly forming a blood mist in the air.
Under the sunlight, Tian Tian actually thought it looked quite nice.
The reporters scattered and fled, while Lyudmila stood there stunned until blood splattered on her face, bringing her back to her senses.
She followed the bodyguard and Tian Tian, who was being dragged on the ground, back into the building's premises. At her signal, the four of them quickly arrived at the underground parking lot.
Without saying a word, Lyudmila drew the dagger from her bodyguard and stabbed it into Mia's neck.
Tian Tian instinctively opened her mouth wide, trying to inhale oxygen. With her last bit of consciousness, she reached for her pocket.
The painting was in his pocket—the one he'd found in Mia's new office.
Besides the pile of doll remains scattered on the ground, the painting also depicts a tall building and a pitch-black night.
After an unknown amount of time, Tian Tian felt a bump and her consciousness returned to focus.
She first felt a jolt, and along with the noise of the car, she could vaguely hear an old man talking to a woman.
The two chatted and laughed, sounding very intimate.
Tian Tian opened her eyes. It was dark all around, and the space to move around was very small. She subconsciously reached out to touch the railing in front of her, only to find that what she had extended was a wing.
This made Tian Tian scream, only to find that the sound seemed to be someone laughing, which sounded quite eerie.
The cries quickly attracted the attention of the man and woman, who stopped their car on the side of the road and opened the trunk to check.
The sunlight shone on Tian Tian, so bright that she couldn't open her eyes.
"The little guy gave me a fright. I thought someone had sneaked onto our car," the old man said to the woman with a smile.
Tian Tian tilted her head and looked at the two of them. The old man looked to be around seventy years old, while the woman was younger. Both of them seemed to be very gentle people.
"Bang."
The trunk was closed again, and when Tian Tian regained her sight, there were three teenagers in front of her.
Two boys and a girl, three pairs of big, watery eyes all looking at her, a sight that made Tian Tian instinctively back away.
"Okay, don't scare it."
The old man put his arm around the shoulders of the three children and led them toward the dining table. Tian Tian was also picked up by the old man.
Tian Tian, who was just getting used to being a night owl for the first time, suddenly felt very hungry when she saw the little mouse that the old man handed her. Her body instinctively gave rise to the desire to eat.
After she had eaten the mouse clean, she realized that she had eaten a mouse, but she did not feel disgusted. Instead, she wanted two more.
"Happy 18th birthday, my darling Jenny." The old man smiled at Jenny and brought the night owl to her.
"Thank you, Grandpa." Jenny smiled brightly, taking the Night Owl and kissing her grandfather on the cheek.
Tian Tian looked at 18-year-old Jenny and felt a little dazed for a moment.
She found it hard to reconcile the Jenny of today with the lifeless woman she once was.
And so, Tian Tian lived in this warm family for half a year, and now she has fully adapted to the body of the night owl.
She felt that this might be her true self; she was originally just a night owl.
Until the third year after I came to this family.
It was a day off. Dark clouds filled the sky outside the window, and a light rain was falling. Jenny was lying in bed reading a book.
Tian Tian flew to Jenny's bedroom window, where a pure white night owl was reflected.
Tian Tian was always drowsy during the day until a phone call broke the peace in the bedroom.
Jenny's reaction piqued Tian Tian's curiosity, and her drowsiness vanished.
She followed Jenny to the desk and looked at the pictures and videos on Jenny's computer. Suddenly, Tian Tian felt as if she had been stabbed in the head with a needle.
The sudden pain caused Tian Tian to lose her balance, and the bird plummeted to the ground.
Tian Tian pecked at her own feathers with her beak to stay awake for a short while.
Memories flooded his brain like a tsunami, and the night owl's eyes regained their sparkle.
Jenny, holding the still-connected phone, got up and ran outside, with Tian Tian turning around and following closely behind.
As they ran, something seemed to fall to the ground, making a crisp "ding" sound.
Tian Tian slowed down and looked at the ground. It was a ring, and the object set in the ring was very strange and she couldn't tell what it was.
There was no time for Tian Tian to think further. She quickly picked up the ring and sped towards Jenny.
However, when she chased after her, she found that Jenny had already gotten into the car. Tian Tian wanted to stop her, but she also knew in her heart that the established facts could not be changed.
This is a world within a painting; she now needs to find a way to get out.
The vehicles driving in the rain grew smaller and smaller, and Tian Tian flew back into the house.
To her dismay, she searched every corner of the room but couldn't find the oil painting.
As darkness fell, night quietly descended. By this time, Tian Tian, the night owl, was almost completely exhausted.
Tian Tian dragged her tired body back to the hall.
Just as she was feeling disheartened and thinking that living like this for the rest of her life might not be so bad, she inadvertently looked out the window at the already dark night.
Outside the window, a moon was shrouded in dark clouds. The dim moonlight spilled onto the ground, illuminating the square outlines of the tall buildings.
Tian Tian's pupils slowly widened as she glanced back at the old man and the middle-aged woman who were preparing dinner.
She then took a deep breath, flapped her wings, and with all her remaining strength, crashed headfirst into the living room window.
The imagined pain didn't occur, nor did the sound of shattering glass. Instead, there was the sound of paper being torn.
With a "rip" sound.
The cold, damp air rushed into my nasal cavity, and a feeling of weightlessness followed.
Tian Tian's eyes snapped open, and she gasped for breath.
Realizing something was wrong, he quickly propped himself up with one arm, gagged himself with his fingers, and then spat out a ring.
Because of the excessive movement, the pain struck her body again, but Tian Tian was no longer panicked.
A broken light bulb was on the ceiling. Although the light wasn't bright enough, it made Tian Tian feel much more at ease.
She struggled to her feet, and the oil painting still greeted her eyes.
Tian Tian limped forward and looked at the painting. "Come on, I'll take you out, and we'll have a big fight."
After she finished speaking, she carefully peeled off the painting, rolled it up, and put it inside her clothes.
