Even after walking a long way, Hup couldn't help but look back.
On that scorched land lay the 27th of the kingdom's younger generation, and the man who carried him had accomplished all of this in less than a second.
"Is my older brother still a fourth-tier superior?" Schup pondered in silence.
He unconsciously began to compare Luo Xiu with the top ten monsters, and eventually ranked Luo Xiu in his mind as sixth or seventh.
This ranking is already extremely terrifying, because he knows the top five of this generation. According to his father, those five are, to some extent, beyond the realm of humanity, and the kingdom has poured all its efforts into them.
Although he didn't know much about the intricacies involved, his father's exact words were:
"The kingdom is about to fight to the death; those five are our last hope."
If those five people were excluded, Hup felt that his eldest brother could only be first or second.
Defeating the kingdom's strongest group in one move is an achievement that is too dazzling.
He couldn't help but feel sorry for the two remaining seeded players who were about to arrive at Kanriel. If he wasn't mistaken, those two would never be ranked in the top 20 and were destined to become stepping stones for his older brother.
"Big brother, isn't being invincible a bit lonely?"
He crossed his arms and said with a sigh.
What's wrong with this guy now?
Luo Xiu glanced at Xiu Pu, whom he was holding by the collar, with a puzzled look, but did not answer.
This guy is a chatterbox; once you answer him, he'll go on and on.
Unexpectedly, Hugh was in an unusually high mood today. No one knew the strength of the geniuses in the capital better than him. Luo Xiu's victory over Gane in one move made him very excited, even happier than if he had defeated Gane himself.
So even though Luo Xiu didn't answer, he still crossed his arms and muttered to himself:
"Brother, I think you are a benefactor in my life. Why don't we join forces to take over Kanril? I've seen this city, it has great potential..."
Luo Xiu automatically ignored Xiu Pu's words. Firstly, the suggestion was completely unreliable, and secondly, he knew that the city only appeared to have potential.
In reality, it's a complete mess.
This shows that Hup seems to have little experience and talent in business, and his wildly imaginative thinking makes him seem a bit like a charlatan.
He discerned the direction, striding forward, each step covering several meters. The scenery on both sides of him changed rapidly, stretching out into a colorful abstract painting.
Soon, he saw scattered houses appearing on the edge of the plain, like wildflowers on barren soil.
These houses vary in color and structure, ranging from red, orange, yellow, and green to castles, courtyards, and cabins.
In the center of those houses, a brightly colored "ribbon" stood tall. When Luo Xiu got closer, he realized it was a huge wall, and the reason it looked colorful was because it was covered with flowers of various colors.
The flowers danced in the wind, the green leaves rustled, and the dewdrops glistened in the sunlight, making Luo Xiu feel refreshed.
I haven't seen greenery in a long time since I came to Kanriel.
The last time I saw green plants was at the consignment shop of the merchant guild, where some merchants from the capital brought clusters of flowers and green leaves to sell to the noble boys and girls of Kanriel.
However, compared to such a large wall covered in flowers, those flowers are really nothing.
As Luo Xiu walked, he admired the beautiful scenery. The flowers were of all kinds, from roses to lilies, and he even saw sunflowers and cherry blossoms.
It's hard to imagine that sunflowers and cherry blossoms could grow on a wall.
However, the only thing missing from this strange scene is the bellflower.
With his current eyesight, it wouldn't be difficult for him to memorize all these flowers, and he was quite certain that there were no bellflowers among them.
I guess it's in the garden.
Luo Xiu imagined the scene: amidst the high walls of flowers, the ground was covered with bellflowers swaying in the wind, the green grass was lush and green, and grass clippings floated into the sky. He couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement and even had the urge to go and see it.
But in the end, she held back and walked towards the exit.
One of his original purposes in entering the inner city was to find materials for crafting fifth-tier items in the Bellflower Garden, but the most important thing now was to find his teacher and tell him about the Golden Casino.
He had already thought of his words. Even if Tata didn't believe there were monsters in the Gold Rush Casino, he could use the excuse that it was dangerous there to get his teacher to handle it.
The casino looks so shady now; anyone can tell there's something wrong with it.
It wouldn't be too late for me to go into the garden after my teacher has finished dealing with the casino here.
Having made up his mind, he walked toward the exit. As he passed a certain house, he seemed to sense something and looked up.
The house had a simple white exterior, and the courtyard was simply planted with a few lilies and some green turf.
A man and a woman were standing in the courtyard. The woman had a bright smile on her face, wore a white dress, and was watering the flowers with a watering can in her hand.
The man stood behind her, holding a water pipe. He blocked the spout with his finger, and the water splashed out due to the pressure, creating a rainbow in the sunlight.
Water splashed onto the woman's skirt. She turned around and lectured the man, but her expression was not angry at all; instead, it was the kind of smile one would give to a lover.
This scene resembled a young couple playfully bickering, but Luo Xiu found it quite unexpected.
He had met both of them before, and was even quite familiar with the woman.
Qiao Wei, a rising star at the Swordsman Academy, was once knocked unconscious by him with a single punch on Mammon Street and had her house displayed in front of her home for a week or two.
I never expected to see her here.
He had seen the man beside her before, at the Gold Rush Casino.
The man in the white shirt in front of them had been sitting opposite Elijah and Ganeh, and had won Elijah's money with another gambler, which is why Elijah went crazy in the end.
So...the two are probably not a couple.
Luo Xiu had seen Qiao Wei's diary before, and according to what was written in the diary, the two people in front of him should be siblings.
"..."
The man in the courtyard cast his gaze over, and his eyes met Luo Xiu's as he scrutinized him.
call--
It felt as if a cold wind was blowing across Luo Xiu's neck.
He still felt something was off. Just like when he first saw the man's face, he felt that the man's face was somewhat familiar, as if he had seen it somewhere before.
This feeling is absolutely correct; his memory is excellent now, as evidenced by the third-tier mushroom monster and the manor owner.
By analogy, this feeling he has now suggests that he has seen people who look very similar to men, but who are not men themselves.
"..."
The man suddenly raised his hand, waved at Luo Xiu, and smiled.
Luo Xiu looked away, no longer looking at the man.
He was certain that there was something wrong with Qiao Wei's younger brother. The most problematic thing was that the light emanating from him indicated that he was only half a step away from stepping into the fifth rank, but there was no mention of this in Qiao Wei's diary.
It's important to understand that Qiao Wei's situation is unique. She wants to record every single thing about her younger brother, and she magnifies even the smallest merit. If her brother were a fourth-level superior, there would be no record of him in her diary.
Beside the man, Qiao Wei turned her head in confusion, looking in the direction where the man had greeted her:
"What's wrong, Jori? What's that over there?"
Luo Xiu was too fast; he was already gone by the time Qiao Wei turned her head, leaving only the wind he had just passed by.
"It's nothing, sister."
The man smiled, lowered his hands, and placed them on Qiao Wei's shoulders, causing her to blush slightly.
"I just ran into an acquaintance."
……
Luo Xiu continued forward, feeling as if he had encountered many of the buildings before, as if he had lived there himself.
For example, to his right now, there is a light green detached wooden house with a courtyard full of various plants. The second floor of the house has two large windows with bright green curtains hanging inside.
It seems the owner of this house has a strong attachment to greenery. The reason Luo Xiu paid attention to this house was not only because it had the most plants, but more importantly, because he had encountered an aura emanating from the second floor of this house before.
On the night of the battle between Leila and her friends and Bozelica and her group, he had noticed something when he turned a corner, but it was late at night and there was an interrogation to be conducted, so he did not investigate the person's identity.
I never expected to run into him here again.
Luo Xiu noted down what the house looked like, planning to inquire about it more carefully the next time he came to the inner city.
He looked up and ahead. According to Alger's map, the exit to the outer perimeter was not far away. At his speed, it would only take him a few tens of seconds to get there.
But at that moment, something unexpected happened.
The scene before Luo Xiu's eyes suddenly began to distort. The houses, the land, and even the sun in the sky began to rotate and shift, as if the stars were shifting. When his vision cleared, he was shocked to find that the rising sun in the sky had turned into a setting sun, and wisps of smoke were rising from the chimneys of the houses around him.
Half a day passed by quietly like that.
This scene made his face darken, and even the chattering of the robot in his hand stopped abruptly as it stared at Luo Xiu in horror:
"Brother, what's going on?"
"This is where the danger lies, as I was referring to."
Luo Xiu said in a deep voice.
The danger he was referring to when he told Schup was not Garnet, but the current unexpected situation.
It's easy to imagine that if there really was a mastermind behind this series of events in Kanriel, after such a big commotion at the Gold Rush Casino, that mastermind would naturally not have allowed Luo Xiu to go to the outer city to find Tata.
"Tap-tap-tap-"
The sound of leather shoes crunching on the mud rang out, and Luo Xiu looked at the person who had come.
Another old acquaintance.
His hair was slicked back with meticulous care, his attire was pale red and aristocratic, his trousers were perfectly fitted, his collar and shoulder tassels were impeccably neat, and he had the signature mustache on his lips.
Earl Shekker.
This person, who had appeared multiple times during this incident, appeared before Luo Xiu for the first time, eventually stopping a few meters away from him.
"Hello, young man."
The way the character speaks is like an NPC; if you didn't know better, you'd think it was an old man in a starting village having a conversation with a new player wearing straw sandals and a t-shirt.
But it does sound like something this man in front of me would say.
This was the first time Luo Xiu had heard Xie Ke speak, and he was surprised to find that his voice was unusually deep.
"Greetings, Your Excellency."
Luo Xiu took a light breath and spoke with a smile.
