Chapter 36 Pikachu Causes Trouble at the Market
Chapter 36 Pikachu Causes Trouble at the Market
Attracted by the sound, Natsuno turned his head to look.
A group of people were seen running around carrying various brooms, sticks, and other similar objects.
Ahead was a tiny Pokémon, which was weaving and darting, quickly traversing various obstacles.
It is entirely yellow with red cheeks, and its long tail has no notch at the end. Its fur glistens with dappled sunlight.
Oh, it's a wild Pikachu by the roadside... oh no, it's Pikachu.
This male Pikachu is carrying a bag on its back, which appears to contain some berries.
The weight did not affect his escape speed. After a few leaps, he jumped over the bushes and escaped into the Evergreen Forest.
The group of pursuers ran to the bushes where Pikachu had disappeared, looked into the forest, and couldn't help but curse.
Xia Ye stopped one of the older men holding a stick and asked him what had happened.
"This Pikachu came from the Evergreen Forest and is very agile."
"I don't know how, but they found our market and come to steal our things every day."
"Actually, those tree fruits aren't worth much, but this guy always causes trouble every time he comes."
"Not only do they ruin the goods, but they also attack the vendors and even passersby, making customers afraid to come to the market, and business has suffered a lot."
"Even reporting it to the police station won't help. That guy comes at unpredictable times and runs fast; even three Gyro Dogs couldn't catch him."
Natsuno then noticed that many people, including the older man, had straight hair and had marks on their bodies from being electrocuted.
Another strange idea popped into his head, and Natsuno gave him direct advice: "Why not go for a gimmick? Something like offering free hair styling with grocery shopping, or body massage therapy. Maybe that would be a hit..."
Seeing the growing anger in the uncle and his group's eyes, Natsuno dared not act rashly any further.
"Everyone, keep it up! If you can beat him once, he won't dare to mess with you again."
"This is a Pokémon behavioral psychology analysis. This guy is used to using force to fight for food in the wild, which is why he attacked you. So good luck to you guys."
The uncle couldn't help but sigh again, while the others picked up their tools and left.
"Sigh, if we could defeat him, we wouldn't have to chase after him every day. We've scanned him, and his lowest level in all abilities is level 30, and his speed is even level 39."
"This guy knows the surrounding terrain well, and he's small in size. If he wanted to escape, no one could catch him."
"Hey buddy, you seem to have some knowledge. Why don't you help us figure out how to deal with that guy?"
Natsuno glanced at Komaru and Aya, then shook his head repeatedly: "I'm just a researcher, I don't have that kind of ability."
"A researcher? They must be very smart. Please help us think of a solution, Uncle."
The uncle's eyes lit up, and he was about to bow to Xia Ye, but Xia Ye quickly helped him up and stopped him.
Instinctively, I wanted to refuse the older man's request, but other considerations flashed through my mind.
Although I said I came out to slack off, I can't slack off too much; I still have to do the serious stuff.
And remember that Giovanni mentioned before that the group of Eevee that couldn't evolve was in the Evergreen Forest.
Natsuno realized he would be staying here for a while and immediately changed his mind.
"Alright, uncle, I'll give it a try, but don't get your hopes up too high. If so many of you can't do it, I might not be able to either."
Seeing Xia Ye nod, the uncle quickly pulled Xia Ye and walked into the vegetable market.
"You can call me Uncle Caitou. By the way, this colorful Tutu dog is really cute."
Xia Ye and Uncle Cai Tou exchanged pleasantries for a while, trying to learn more about the Pikachu.
Before long, we arrived at the vegetable market.
At this moment, inside the market, a group of people were looking dejected at the mess on the ground.
Natsuno noticed that there were two to four ground squirrels working together to tidy up the stalls at each one, and there were several goldfish in the tanks in the seafood area.
When they saw the uncle bringing Natsuno over, they assumed Natsuno was there to buy groceries and enthusiastically tried to sell her the produce.
Upon hearing the uncle introduce them as helpers, the others became even more enthusiastic, stuffing their own tree fruits into Xia Ye's arms for him to taste.
Xia Ye raised his hand to stop him and opened his mouth to explain, but a dozen or so pieces of tree fruit were stuffed into his mouth at once, almost reaching his throat.
Natsuno stared wide-eyed in terror, covering her mouth with one hand and backing away repeatedly. Aya, whose mouth was also stuffed with tree fruit pieces, did the same thing, backing away in fear.
With great effort, Natsuno chewed the fruit pieces in his mouth and swallowed them, then loudly explained.
The crowd finally stopped feeding the animals, their surprise vanished, and they all let out a long sigh.
"Don't be discouraged, everyone. Only by working together can we have a chance to solve this problem."
Natsuno's words of comfort had no effect; everyone still looked very dejected.
"We understand what you're saying, but we've already tried every possible method."
"Not even once could you exhaust that Pikachu?"
"No, our Diglett are only around level 20, and those Goldeens, although they have the Lightning Rod ability, are also only level 20."
Natsuno nodded. Although the ability is very useful, it is limited by the Pokémon's own level.
If your level is 10 levels lower than the opponent's move level, the effect of your ability can easily reach its limit and be broken by the opponent's move.
"Have you tried working together? With so many Pokémon sharing the burden, even a level 40 opponent would be exhausted."
"Combining our efforts is useless. That guy is very cunning. If we all combine our efforts, we won't be able to guard against him and he'll just run away without fighting us."
Natsuno smiled, stroked his chin, and began to think.
This Pikachu is practically a spirit! It fights when it can win, and runs away when it feels like it can't. It's so cunning, it must be wild.
With so many Pokémon, it's possible to fight them off together, but the market is too spacious, and if we don't divide our forces to defend it, they'll escape.
Then we need to find a way to force that Pikachu to stop and face the combined attack, thus limiting its speed advantage.
Considering that goldfish must stay in the tank, these lightning rods are essential, so let's arrange the location in the aquatic area.
After making some rough plans in his mind, Xia Ye had a rough idea forming in his head.
"Everyone, are you willing to close for the entire day tomorrow and cooperate in setting up a comprehensive trap to completely solve the Pikachu problem?"
Natsuno's words left everyone hesitant, their expressions conflicted.
Uncle Cai Tou thought for a moment, gritted his teeth, and was the first to stand up and support Xia Ye.
"Anyway, after that guy caused trouble, there's hardly any business left in the market. If we don't solve the problem, it's no different from going out of business."
"It's just one day of closure, I support that. Once the problem is solved, reopening will be easy, right?"
The uncle's words resonated with the others, and the hesitant stall owners all stood up to respond.
"Okay, we agree. Anyway, if we keep going like this, we'll be doomed. It's better to solve the problem completely."
Seeing that everyone was responding enthusiastically, Xia Ye gathered them together and shared his ideas.
The others followed Natsuno's ideas to make additional trap arrangements, and everyone was mobilized.
Everyone pitched in and thoroughly cleaned the entire market.
The next day, Pikachu followed the path it remembered to the vegetable market.
Then a big question mark appeared in his little head.
?
At this moment, the entire market was so clean that not a single tree fruit residue could be seen; it was so spotless it could be used as an ice rink.
People hiding in the shadows watched as Pikachu wandered through the entire market, then left dejectedly.
Natsuno dropped his disguise and greeted them.
"Everyone, proceed as planned! A trap has been set up to lure Pikachu! Move out!"
