“Zeris, you’re back.”
"Richman, I'm back."
In a dark corner of the ball, several principals crouched furtively by the wall, watching two middle-aged men confront each other with murderous intent.
"Hey, Zerris, it's time to stop opening portals and running away all the time. Give me the Queen's Academy's official seal."
Zerris raised an eyebrow, removed his sunglasses, took out a badge engraved with royal crest from his pocket, and smiled coldly:
"If you want it, you'll have to come and get it yourself."
He stood up from his chair, unfastened his spell cloak, letting it fold up in the air and land on the table, straightened his shirt embroidered with several magic runes, crossed his arms, looked across at the person opposite him, and said:
"You already know this rule."
Richman shook his head, stood up as well, unbuttoned his double-breasted coat, and a dim magic circle slowly formed beneath his feet. He sighed.
"I knew you would say that."
dong dong dong...
Zerris turned to look in the direction from which the strange drumbeats were coming, frowned, and said calmly:
"Between us..."
Boom boom boom!
Before he could finish speaking, a powerful drumbeat interrupted his thoughts. He couldn't help but turn back again and ask loudly:
"Who is it? It's not time to checkpoints yet!"
"Something terrible has happened, Principal!" The principal's secretary rushed over, pointing towards the center of the ball and shouting:
"The students are fighting!"
……
"That's all?" Zerris frowned, waved his hand, and said:
"Go warn them that if they fight again, they'll be sent to Andorra to grow potatoes."
"Hahaha!" Richman sneered three times and said, "Do you know why your diplomatic strategy is progressing so slowly? Mages all know that conditions are harsh abroad, yet you don't shy away from this at all and even boast about it. No wonder no one has recognized your ideas all these years!"
“You’re right.” Zerris sat back in his chair and nodded. “Based on my years of on-site investigation and analysis, what Norard’s diplomatic team lacks is not these useless people who only know how to talk nonsense, but a powerful figure who has appeared out of nowhere, a benchmark that breaks the common sense of foreigners and allows them to gain a fantasy about magic in awe.”
Richman looked thoughtful, sat back down in his chair, and said:
"Such a person could not possibly come from Queen's College. It just so happens that it is the joint ball of the three schools now, why don't you go and take a look around."
"Okay, then I won't give you this for now." Zerris put the school badge into his pocket and said nonchalantly:
"Anyway, I have no interest in exercising the school charter's right to propose projects. In order to prevent you from launching projects recklessly, I'll keep this for now."
"Fine, whatever you say." Richman shook his head helplessly. "Tomorrow I'll send these students who formed teams to complete their annual tasks. If any students perform exceptionally well, I'll ask you for them then."
He was silent for a moment, then suddenly asked curiously:
"So why are you back so early this time? Did you run out of money?"
"Ah, haven't you heard?" Zerris paused, then said:
“Traces of pure light have been discovered in the Holy City of Promea. It is said that a holy knight named Jennifer found the fragments of light, and after absorbing the power of pure light, that holy knight has been promoted to a knight of light.”
“Uh, I’ve heard about it, but what does that have to do with you coming back early?” Richman asked, frowning.
“Of course!” Zerris laughed. “Who says only pure magic can attract foreigners? I plan to invite that newly promoted Knight of Light to participate in diplomatic affairs abroad. Isn’t that a brilliant idea?”
"If we can find a powerful figure descending from the heavens this time, then we'll go together. If not, the Knight of Light, who can overwhelm foreign minor gods with his divine power, can attract a group of young people. At that time, it's entirely possible to rely on this small group to exchange magic and the magic network!"
“…That’s quite possible.” Richman took a deep breath, glanced at Fisherman and Walmart by the wall, and said coldly:
"We each serve our own masters, and I don't want to fight with you, but since your career is improving, I think I don't need to see you anymore!"
Then, a resolute look flashed across his face, he slammed his hand on the table, and shouted:
"From now on, let's have separate rooms and not share the principal's office!"
……
……
"Plant potatoes then, who's afraid of who!" A ruthless glint flashed across the nobleman's face as he muttered under his breath.
"If you break one of my wings, I will destroy your entire paradise!"
After saying that, he put his hands on the ground, slapped the ground with his buttocks, and began to do Thomas spins while swinging his legs.
"Is there no adult supervising you at home?"
Latis watched the scene speechlessly, kicked the other two noblemen who had fainted after he had accidentally kicked them in the balls during the dance battle, and sighed.
"Fine, I'll show you what the social dance of the anime world is all about!"
He closed his eyes calmly, then suddenly opened them, revealing the cold expression of a Yangko star.
Then, Latis began to slide in place, keeping time with the beat. After tapping his arms a few times, he suddenly leaned back, crossed his arms, and swung them out, singing loudly:
"Oh my god, David!"
……
……
Good evening, Lundia!
Jennifer, bathed in a pure white glow, emerged from the spatial turbulence of the teleportation array and stretched vigorously.
"I don't know why, but all I could think about was Lazi's grinning face, so I took a detour and used the teleportation array at Siyuanhua Fortress to come back early..."
She made a fist and pretended to slash around haphazardly as if she had a sword, then blushed and looked around.
"My hands were itching to touch it, but thankfully no one was around."
Jennifer pushed open the door to the teleportation hall, about to go home, when she suddenly caught a familiar voice amidst the noise of the ball.
"Oh my god, David!"
"Huh? It's definitely you, Lazi!" Jennifer didn't think much of it and started walking towards the ball. She took two steps, then suddenly paused and laughed.
"With Latis and Jennifer together, they're probably going to make a complete mess of this ball!"
Jennifer rubbed her right foot against her left heel awkwardly before taking another decisive step forward.
Her steps quickened and her strides grew longer; with increasing impatience as she drew closer, she ran as fast as a bright comet.
Chapter 147 That jealous look on his face!
"That's your excuse for breaking up with me~ If I let you do it all over again, would you still love me...?"
Zerris stood in the dark corner, watching Latis, whose dance style kept changing and who was singing his own background music, and he couldn't bear to look at him.
He turned to the principals who were all covering their faces and sighing, and asked:
"Whose student is this?"
A moment of silence fell over everyone.
"Why is no one speaking?" Zerris raised an eyebrow, seemingly realizing a possibility, and looked back at Latis in the arena, muttering in shock:
"Wow, three alumni from three different schools..."
……
"Damn it!" The last nobleman collapsed to his knees, pounding the ground in anguish before everyone's eyes, and cried out in bitterness:
"Soybean curd core!..."
"That's enough," Latis said with a look of disdain, as if he were using an old man's cell phone on the subway.
"I've been navigating the internet for decades, how could a newcomer like you, Karami, possibly understand me?"
He took a step forward, about to say some more polite words, when suddenly his expression changed, and he slipped and fell to the ground with a thud, stepping on the gold coins that the nobleman had scattered earlier.
"Holy crap, the whole thing is a disaster!"
Latis opened his eyes, exchanged a glance with the bewildered nobleman, quickly processed the information in his mind, and immediately obeyed the call of his DNA, adopting a ferocious expression.
"Look at that expression on your face!" Latis grinned wickedly, leaning closer to the nobleman's bewildered face. He then glared at him sideways, took a deep breath, and shouted arrogantly:
"That jealous look on my face!..."
……
The skipping noise of the magic phonograph lends a silent film quality to this non-static scene.
Amid the growing murmurs of those around him, Latis stood up without changing his expression, dusted off his sleeves, and turned to walk into the darkness without a word.
"Alas, if I didn't stand under this spotlight, how would the world know that though my appearance is flamboyant, my spirit is as radiant as the sunset! Remember that year at eighteen, at the negotiation conference, standing there like a...?"
He teased the magical floating lamp that emitted a faint green glow and sighed.
Who says only those who stand in the light are heroes...?
……
“That’s interesting,” Zerris murmured, stroking his chin. He turned to the principals and asked:
"How are this guy's grades? Does he have any connections?"
"Damn it, Taupet is here to beg for money," Fisherman muttered, then snorted.
"We've already invested in him, now go find the next one!"
Zerris raised an eyebrow, glanced at the expressions on the three principals' faces, then turned back with a sudden realization, muttering to himself:
"I see, now it's time for my favorite part: the husband's current act of betrayal..."
"Hey!" Richman shouted angrily, "I've been putting up with you for too long! You're thinking of poaching someone else's partner again, aren't you? You've already said it out loud!"
"Yeah, so what?" Zerris shrugged rather roguishly, put on his sunglasses in the darkness, and laughed as he said:
"He's free to go wherever he wants. You can't stop him from going to someone better, can you?"
Richman was silent for a moment, then sighed. After exchanging a glance with Zerris's sunglasses, he turned away and whispered to Walmart:
