Chapter 301 Discussing the Plan with Severus
Chapter 301 Discussing the Plan with Severus
"What are your plans? How are you going to take Harry to the Ministry of Magic?" Severus asked me what my plans were.
"If I had brought Sirius to the Ministry of Magic first, would Harry have tried to get there himself with his own people?" I thought about it and realized that it was only in my past life, when Sirius was used as bait, that Harry would have gone to the Ministry of Magic on his own.
Severus gripped my robe tightly and said urgently, "Are you crazy? Sending that black dog into the jaws of those people at the Ministry of Magic?"
He moved closer, his dark eyes churning with anxiety and anger. "Once discovered, he's doomed. Even if you have Riddle's favor, he'll never let you go."
“Severus, I put something on Sirius to save his life.” I pulled Severus back to his seat where he was grading papers. “And it’s not Riddle who dotes on me, but I who dote on him.”
I'm not just saying this casually; Riddle is my precious son.
I raised my hand and pressed it against his tense chest, feeling his rapid heartbeat. "Listen to me, Severus. I've already contacted Percy and Mr. Weasley. They'll use the Portkey to bring Sirius to the Ministry of Magic and have him wait there. Then they'll use a Confusion Charm to make the guards think he's been captured for special interrogation."
I pulled out a black token engraved with a snake pattern. "With this, we can at least delay the performance by half an hour."
"What is the purpose of this token?" Severus asked curiously, picking up the token in his hand.
"This is my token of control over the British Ministry of Magic, even more powerful than the Minister of Magic." I showed the token to Severus and then took it back, intending to give it to Percy later.
He stared at the token, his Adam's apple bobbing. "And then what? You expect Potter to lead those Gryffindor brats in to rescue them?"
“It’s not about hoping, it’s about scheming.” I smirked, my fingertips tracing his bluish chin. “Harry can’t stand the thought of Sirius being in danger. As soon as the news reaches his ears, he’ll rush into the Ministry of Magic without hesitation. And we’ll just follow behind and protect them.”
Severus remained silent for a long time, then suddenly grabbed my wrist with a force almost punitive: "If anything goes wrong with the plan—"
"No, it won't happen." I kissed away the wrinkles between his brows and took the opportunity to pull the parchment with the layout of the Ministry of Magic written on it from his pocket.
“I have people in the Ministry of Magic, and I’ve even placed illusion charms at several key locations.” Unfolding the blueprints, I used the tip of my wand to illuminate several flashing red dots. “Once Harry and the others get the prophecy orb, we’ll create chaos and get everyone out of here safely.”
He finally let go, but his brows were still furrowed: "When did you become so crazy?"
“I’ve always been this crazy.” I rested my chin on his shoulder and whispered, “Severus, I want to destroy that prophecy orb.”
Severus's pupils trembled slightly, then he suddenly hugged me tightly, with such force that it felt like he wanted to knead me into his bones.
His voice was muffled in my hair, trembling almost imperceptibly: "You'd better be alright, you hear me?"
I smiled and wrapped my arms around his waist, secretly drawing a protective charm symbol on his back with my fingertips and tapping the ring on Severus's hand: "Of course, nothing and no one can hurt me."
Severus suddenly pulled me away, gripping my shoulders tightly with both hands.
“Ayers, these plans alone are not enough to put my mind at ease.”
“Severus, when you see me, don’t acknowledge me. I might overturn many of your beliefs.” I wrapped my arms around Severus’s waist and gently patted him to comfort him.
Severus's dark pupils suddenly contracted, trembling violently as if provoked by a flame from the tip of a wand.
"Ayers, do you have another trick up your sleeve?" He suddenly loosened his tie, and the veins on his neck bulged like coiled snakes.
I met his sharp gaze in silence, the crackling sparks from the fireplace reflecting a crimson hue in his eyes.
My fingertips gently caressed his lower back—a mark left years ago by an unsuspecting member of the Phoenix Society. However, I knew all the scars on his body, and now, under my touch, his rapid breathing made them slightly hot.
“The less we know about certain things, the safer we are,” I whispered in Severus’s ear.
"Didn't you say you'd tell me everything?" His voice trembled, filled with suppressed pain. His well-defined knuckles gripped my wrist with such force that it felt like he wanted to embed me into his body.
The flickering firelight from the fireplace cast interplay of light and shadow on his pale face, and his eyes, which always held a myriad of emotions, were now filled with anxiety and unease.
I took his hand in return, buried my face in the crook of his neck, and said in a muffled voice, "Severus, this time is different. Once everything is ready, I will take you with me. You have to believe me, how could I bear to leave you behind?"
Her fingertips gently traced the prominent spine at the back of his neck, one of his most sensitive spots, trying to relax his tense body.
Severus froze for a moment, then slowly rested his head on my shoulder, his breathing becoming heavier with each breath.
“Ayers, you know what I fear most.” His voice seemed to be squeezed from the deepest part of his chest, filled with fear and worry that was about to overflow. “I can’t lose any more…” His words stopped abruptly, but my heart ached suddenly.
I looked up, cupped his face in my hands, and forced him to look me in the eye: "I won't let anything happen to myself, and I won't let anything happen to you. Didn't we promise to be together forever?"
As I spoke, I leaned in and kissed him. The kiss was filled with so many complex emotions, as if I wanted to imprint our promises into each other's souls.
His wand slid down, and I caught it with one hand. He suddenly tightened his arms and pulled me into his embrace.
Severus's kiss was filled with an almost desperate demand, and the force of their intertwined lips made me taste blood—I don't know who bit the other's lip.
A spark from the fireplace suddenly leaped up to waist height, casting distorted light and shadow behind our overlapping figures, much like the dangers lurking in the darkness.
