Chapter 157 Driving to School
Chapter 157 Driving to School
When I Apparated back to the Burrow, I saw Harry and Ron sitting on the sofa in the hall as if they were waiting for me.
"Thank goodness you two are alright. Tell me what happened?" Thankfully, these two kids didn't foolishly drive that flying car this time; they knew to wait for me here.
"It felt like the entrance was shut off when I went through that pillar, and I bumped my head and got a big bump on it," Harry said, still rubbing the bump on his head.
"Come here and let me take a look." Hearing that Harry was injured, I asked him to come over and check on me first.
Harry stood up from the sofa, walked in front of me, and looked up to show me his injury.
I lifted Harry's chin, brushed his hair aside, and saw that he did indeed have a large bump on his forehead. Without a wand, I cast 'Heal as Before', and magic appeared at my fingertips. I gently rubbed Harry's forehead.
A warm sensation appeared on Harry's forehead, and he felt that the spot where he had bumped his head didn't hurt as much anymore.
"How amazing, Harry's bag just disappeared like that." Ron appeared silently next to Harry, watching me treat him.
"Ron, are you hurt anywhere?" I promised Headmaster Dumbledore and Mrs. Weasley that I would take good care of them and try to keep them from getting hurt if possible.
“I’m fine. I saw Harry didn’t go through, so I stopped and didn’t hit him,” Ron said, shaking his head to let everyone know he wasn’t hurt.
"Ayers, what do we do now? We definitely won't make it onto the Hogwarts Express in time." After healing Harry, I let go of his head, and Harry touched his forehead to make sure the bump was gone.
"Wait a minute, I need to write a letter to Severus to tell him about our situation, and then I need to write a letter to Mr. Weasley." He took out paper and pen from his backpack and went to the table to write the letter.
“I can understand writing to Professor Snape, but why write to my father?” Ron asked curiously.
"Because I need to drive your Flying Car." I've been interested in that car for a long time, but I've never had a chance to drive it. This time, I'm looking for an opportunity to give myself a go.
"Ayers, can you drive?" Harry asked curiously.
"I've driven cars before, but this is my first time driving a flying car." Although I was a hopeless lazy person in my previous life, I still managed to get a driver's license, so I guess I can drive.
When Harry and Ron saw that I had two owls carry the two letters out, they stuffed all their luggage into the flying car.
"Let's go then." I locked the door of the Burrow and got into the flying car. Harry sat in the passenger seat and Ron sat in the back.
"How do you operate this car, Ron?" He'd driven cars before, but this was his first time flying one, so he wanted to find out how to operate it first.
"Insert the wand here, step on the gas and it will move. Then there's a fly button here to fly, and another one is the shadow button. Finally, just drive like a normal car," Ron explained in detail.
"How do we land?" I asked again. Just knowing how to take off but not how to land won't do.
“Just press the flight button again,” Ron said.
"Great, I know how to do it. Sit tight and fasten your seatbelts."
I gripped the steering wheel with a bit of diligence, took out my wand from my portable backpack, inserted it into the magic-transmitting device, then shifted gears and stepped on the gas.
The little car, swaying and rattling, started moving, driving out of the narrow path leading to the slum. The road widened as it drove. They pressed the flying button and the invisible button as well, making sure the Muggles couldn't see the flying car.
Harry and Ron gripped the safety handles tightly, and the takeoff process was smooth and normal.
"You two hold on tight, I'm about to accelerate, or we might not make it to Hogwarts School in time." With a quick shift of gears with his left hand and a deep press of the pedal with his left foot, he accelerated with a burst of magical throttle.
Before Harry and Ron could even release the safety handles, they felt a push on their backs. The scenery outside the window flashed by rapidly as the flying car sped forward, almost like riding a high-speed train.
Fred and George, who had been riding the express train with me for years, looked listless in the compartment. This time, without me, there were no delicious pastries.
"Senior Ayers, why didn't Harry and Ron get on the bus?" Hermione, who had come looking for us, asked curiously when she didn't see the three of us.
“It seems Harry and Ron didn’t get past the platform pillar. Ayers, go check what’s going on,” Cedric replied to Hermione’s question.
"What's wrong with Fred and George?" Knowing about Harry and Ron's situation and with Ayers by their side, Hermione felt very relieved. Then, seeing the two looking listless, she asked curiously.
"Because Ayers isn't here." Oliver was also helpless against the twins.
"Oh, I see." Hermione didn't think much of it. She knew the twins were always very attached to Ayers, so seeing them like this was quite normal.
Just then, Fred, who was lying on the table, suddenly perked up.
“George, look out the window, isn’t that our car?” Fred asked, shaking George beside him.
At his shout, everyone in the carriage looked out the window.
Harry and Ron even raised their hands to greet them, and everyone in the carriage looked at them in surprise.
My speeding just now allowed me to catch up with the Hogwarts Express. This area is now a deserted forest, so I turned off my Shadow Clones and had Harry and Ron greet the people in the carriage.
Fred and the others saw me driving with one hand and smiled at them leisurely.
"This is so much fun! I should have gone with Ayers to find Harry and Ron instead." Fred looked at them through the car window with displeasure.
"Yeah, they didn't even take us with them." George also envied Harry and his brother.
“They really are.” Cedric looked at me with only indulgence.
"This car is really nice." Oliver's eyes were only on the flying car.
"Will they be caught and punished for showing up outside?" Only Hermione would think about whether what we did counts as causing trouble.
"It's alright, Ayers has definitely taken care of everything." Just then, Percy walked back.
“That’s true. Senior Ayers must have already taken care of this issue.” Hermione thought about it after hearing what Percy said and realized it made sense.
“Then we’ll have to meet at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,” Cedric said.
“Yes.” Percy looked at the car that had already driven away.
