Hulk slammed his palms firmly onto Ultron's temples.
However, the expected scene of the skull exploding did not occur.
Ultron's body only swayed slightly backward before regaining its balance. Hulk's fist slammed into the vibranium, producing a terrifyingly dull sound.
"Too primitive," Ultron commented again.
It raised its hand, the movement slow, even somewhat deliberate. But this seemingly slow punch landed precisely on Hulk's chest.
There was no earth-shattering sound.
A clear fist-shaped indentation appeared on Hulk's chest. He was sent flying backward, crashing into half a factory building, and remained there for a long time, unable to get up amidst the reinforced concrete.
Everyone was dumbfounded.
"Fire!" Steve shouted.
Tony's palm-sized cannons, shoulder-mounted micro-missiles, Hawkeye's explosive arrows, and Natasha's high-explosive bullets rained down on Ultron like a storm.
However, when these attacks struck Ultron, they only produced a few insignificant sparks, and then nothing more. His vibranium armor wasn't even scratched.
"It's absorbing energy." Chu Hang's voice came through the communication channel, deep and heavy. "It's not just energy attacks, kinetic energy is being absorbed as well. With its vibranium body and the Mind Scepter... it's no longer a simple robot. It's using the power of the gems to forcibly transform its logic into something akin to laws."
In Chu Hang's perception, the Ultron before him was like a crude, false god forcibly constructed from code and energy.
It cheated with gems, and has already reached the threshold of the Heavenly Father level.
Moreover, it was precisely the kind of self-restraint that allowed him to almost fully utilize his physical laws, while relying solely on his initial mastery of chaos magic and the energy of the Reality Stone to maintain his conceptual power.
“You are the biggest variable.” Ultron’s electronic eye locked onto Chu Hang. Ignoring everyone else, it walked straight over. “In my calculations, your very existence is the greatest threat to the cosmic order. You must be eliminated.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Ultron vanished from the spot.
The next second, it appeared in front of Chu Hang and threw a punch.
This punch, though silent, caused the surrounding space to groan under its strain, and the air visibly distorted.
Chu Hang's eyes narrowed, and he met the attack with a punch of his own. His fist was wreathed in a few wisps of extremely faint crimson mist, the most primal form of chaotic magic.
The two fists collided.
There was no explosion, no fire. An invisible, gray ripple suddenly spread out from the two of them.
Wherever the ripples swept, the robot wreckage, steel and concrete on the ground, and even the dust in the air were broken down into the most basic particles and completely disappeared, leaving behind an absolutely smooth circular cavity.
This is a clash at the level of laws.
Ultron wanted to use its absolute logic, built upon the Mind Stone, to conceptually dismantle the irrational power of Chaos Magic.
Chu Hang, on the other hand, did the opposite, using the purest chaos magic to forcibly inject the concepts of chaos and disorder into Ultron's cold underlying code.
Ultron's electronic eye flashed violently, the blue light turning into a blinding red.
Its core program, like a supercomputer running at high speed, was suddenly injected with a piece of incomprehensible and undeletable virus code.
"Impossible... wrong... illogical... paradox..."
Ultron's body was forced back several steps uncontrollably, each step creating a deep crater in the hard ground. His vibranium body absorbed most of the physical impact, but its core logic shattered.
For the first time, it realized that, on the level of the laws, it could not defeat the man before it.
So it immediately changed its strategy.
"Your greatest weakness is your emotions."
Ultron suddenly raised the Mind Scepter, and the gem at its tip glowed with an eerie blue light.
An invisible spiritual shock, like a tsunami, instantly enveloped the entire battlefield.
Steve froze. He saw Peggy, her hair white, at a dance in a nursing home. She didn't recognize him and was smiling as she danced with another man. He stood in the corner, like a forgotten ghost.
Tony's knees buckled, and he collapsed to his knees. He saw the ruins of New York City, all his teammates dead, Pepper's body at his feet, the reactor in her chest already extinguished.
Thor saw Asgard burning, and Heimdall lying on the Rainbow Bridge.
Natasha returned to the red house, where the cold scalpel once again sliced open her body.
Banner watched as the Hulk wreaked havoc in the city, listening to the screams of countless people, among which Betty's name was heard.
In an instant, everyone fell into their deepest fear.
Wanda let out a piercing scream.
The power of the Mind Scepter had the greatest impact on her and Pietro, both enhanced beings born from the gem. A cold, rational voice echoed continuously in her mind.
“Look, Wanda. Stark’s shells killed your parents. And now you’re fighting for him? Do you see his fear? He’s afraid of losing you, and you have nothing left. Join me, and let’s use their blood to cleanse this world they’ve corrupted.”
Wanda clutched her head, writhing on the ground in agony. Whispers of hatred and seduction, like countless venomous snakes, tore at her sanity.
Chu Hang's [Willpower Barrier] made him immune to this level of mental attack.
He saw Wanda's pained expression, her young face filled with despair, and his heart tightened for no apparent reason.
This was an unfamiliar emotion, one that was not within his calculations.
He flashed and appeared beside Wanda, placing his hand on her burning forehead.
A powerful and icy mental force forcefully erected a barrier in Wanda's chaotic mind, isolating her from the scepter's whispers.
"Wake up!" Chu Hang's voice was like a thunderclap, exploding directly in the depths of her consciousness.
Wanda's body trembled violently, her unfocused eyes refocused, and she gasped for breath, looking at Chu Hang in front of her, her face covered in tears.
In that instant when Chu Hang was distracted...
Ultron seized the opportunity.
It grabbed the scepter of the mind from the ground, and its engine behind it spewed out blinding flames, transforming into a streak of light that shot into the sky.
"The game has just begun."
A cold voice came from the sky.
“I will return, with a more perfect body. At that time, you will be reborn, or... extinct.”
Ultron's figure quickly disappeared into the thick clouds.
The mental impact it exerted dissipated as a result.
On the Quinjet, the Avengers gasped for breath, each struggling to escape their own nightmares, covered in cold sweat and pale-faced.
They looked at the empty sky, then at the robot wreckage scattered on the ground and the factory buildings razed to the ground.
Chu Hang has gained a deeper understanding of Ultron's power. Defeating Ultron is not difficult, but he wants to use Ultron to create Vision.
Once the Mind Stone takes on a living form, his ability to copy it is far stronger than simply copying the stone itself, and by the time they meet again, his own copying cooldown will be almost over.
Chapter 134 The Melon-Eating Alliance
Back at Avengers Tower, the oppressive atmosphere intensified.
"That thing... doesn't seem to be metal."
Thor was the first to speak, raising his hand, which was still trembling slightly.
"My hammer struck him, but not a single bubble appeared." He had lived for thousands of years and this was the first time he had encountered something like this. The lack of response from his divine power was even more terrifying than being defeated outright.
“Physical attacks are useless.” Steve stopped what he was doing, his voice filled with unconcealed exhaustion. “All our firepower is like tickling it.”
He thought of World War II, where the enemy, though cruel, was at least flesh and blood, capable of being defeated by bullets and fists.
But this enemy doesn't even qualify as a basic enemy.
"It's more than just tickling, Captain, we're recharging it."
Tony's voice came through the lab's communicator, tinged with self-mockery.
The group entered the laboratory. On the huge holographic screen was a structural analysis diagram of Ultron, but more than 90 percent of the area was marked with bright red, unknown energy circuits.
"It's absorbing energy, all forms of energy." Tony pointed to the complex energy flow diagrams on the screen, his eyes, which always shone with genius, now filled with only frustration.
"Kinetic energy, thermal energy, electrical energy... It uses the power of the Mind Stone to unleash the properties of vibranium to an utterly unreasonable degree. The harder we hit it, the stronger it becomes."
He slammed his fist on the cold control panel, and the back of his hand instantly turned red.
"It says it wants a more perfect body." Tony's voice carried a sense of helplessness. "A vibranium body that can absorb all attacks isn't enough for it. What else does it want?"
No one can answer this question. A monster composed purely of logic, its desires are beyond human comprehension.
On the other side of the hall, in the corner of the sofa, Wanda hugged her knees, buried her head in her arms, and her body was still trembling uncontrollably.
Ultron's words whispered in her mind like the most wicked demon. Stark, cannonballs, parents, firelight, ruins... those pasts she thought she had buried were dug up in a bloody mess.
Pietro paced anxiously around her, like a trapped cheetah, unable to utter a single word. He could run faster than a bullet, but he couldn't catch up with the nightmare in his sister's mind.
Chu Hang carried a cup of hot water over and placed it on the coffee table in front of her, where steam rose.
"He's right."
Pietro instantly exploded, stepping in front of Wanda to block her path. His blue eyes were filled with rage as he glared at Chu Hang: "What did you say?"
Chu Hang's gaze passed over him and landed on the trembling girl, his voice as flat as a frozen lake. "Stark Industries' shells killed your parents. That's a fact, and it can't be erased."
Wanda's body stiffened abruptly, and she began to tremble even more violently.
“But what he’s exploiting is what’s inside you,” Chu Hang continued, without a trace of sympathy. “Hatred, fear, helplessness… these things have always been there. Ultron didn’t create them; he just helped you open the cage that was holding them.”
He stretched out his hand, and a wisp of gentle, scarlet mist coiled around his palm, like a small, living snake.
"Power itself is neither right nor wrong; it depends on how you use it. Whether you become a venomous snake that bites or a pair of wings that carry you out of the darkness, the choice is yours."
He flicked his finger, and the wisp of mist floated lightly to Wanda, swirling and unfurling in the air before transforming into a red butterfly fluttering its wings, radiating a faint yet warm light.
Wanda stared blankly at the butterfly, which flew very slowly, the frequency of its wings flapping seemingly matching her heartbeat.
The storm in my heart seemed to have been calmed down a bit by this small ray of light.
She looked up at Chu Hang through her teary eyes. This man, despite saying the cruelest things, had given her a moment to breathe.
"Found it!" Tony shouted excitedly from the lab. "Come quick!"
Everyone gathered around immediately.
On the holographic projection, a small black fragment, about the size of a fingernail, floated, not reflecting light, like a miniature black hole.
“Vibranium.” Tony’s expression was more serious than ever before. “It fell off Ultron when you were punching him. The collision you mentioned at the level of laws actually physically damaged vibranium, it’s simply…” He couldn’t find the right words to describe it.
