Chapter 54: Interrogation
Chapter 54: Interrogation
"Your student is awake, isn't he?"
"Hmm." Sidlin nodded gently in response to the King's question, then continued, "And you?"
"Did you get any information from them?"
"Not yet." The king raised an eyebrow as he spoke. "He's very tight-lipped... no matter what you say, he won't utter a single word."
"We know absolutely nothing about him now, except for his name."
"Moreover, the envoy from the Duchy of Basheland also knew nothing about it... We have already investigated, and he should have no connection to this matter."
"Is that so?" Sidlin nodded slightly upon hearing this, her tone revealing no emotion, but the king seemed to remember something and coughed.
"Regarding Miss Migludia... On behalf of the Kingdom of Asura, I thank her, and on behalf of myself, I thank her as well."
Sidrin listened to his words without speaking, but quietly looked at the king with her red eyes.
After a while, she said, "You should say those words to her yourself."
"Or is it that...you humans just like beating around the bush?"
"..." The king fell silent upon hearing this. He lowered his head, sighed, and then shook his head helplessly: "I understand what you mean."
"So when are you leaving?"
"Leave?" Cidel raised an eyebrow. "I won't leave until I find out who wants my stupid student dead..."
"Are you so sure he wants Miss Migludia's life?"
"You're that sure?" Cidelina didn't offer any explanation; she spoke slowly and deliberately, devoid of emotion, yet the king subconsciously pursed his lips.
He could tell that Cinderella wasn't in a good mood... Although she always called him a stupid student, it was obvious that Miss Migludia held a special place in her heart.
The king thought this to himself, then nodded slightly: "He is currently imprisoned in the dungeon... If you have any questions for him, please go ahead."
"Hmm." Catherine nodded slightly, then walked out of the study. Her figure looked incredibly sinister in the dark corridor, and her heart was equally cold.
She doesn't care about politics or the intricacies of human affairs... but as her food and student, Lokishi isn't someone anyone can threaten at will according to the rules of the vampire clan.
If a vampire's food can be threatened at will, then that vampire will be looked down upon by the entire clan.
And to be honest, Cinderella was also a little curious.
How could someone possibly target someone as foolish as Luo Qixi?
Furthermore, they dispatched a sword king from the Northern Divine School... This isn't some third-rate assassin you see everywhere on the street... And in order to kill Lokishi... they even went so far as to assassinate the king and send away the water goddess Leda...
What is the purpose of such a plan?
The answer to all of this... is quite obvious in the man now in prison.
Looking at the battered and handless man bound to a chair, Cinderella gave a cold laugh.
"It's been a while... You seem to be doing quite well." Catherine's voice was as cold as falling snowflakes, causing Thorston to struggle and slowly open his eyes.
"I won't tell you anything... especially not... you devil."
Hearing his hoarse voice, Cinderella felt completely bewildered.
"Have we met before?" she said, reaching out her hand and tracing her fingertips across Thorston's forehead.
"I don't think so," she said slowly. "Someone as disgusting as you... I'd remember you vividly after just one meeting."
"Ha." Thorston sneered, staring into Cinderella's red eyes. "You think that just because I failed... there won't be a next time?"
"Whether it's you, or that student of yours destined to destroy everything... you will die!"
Sidley raised an eyebrow at this, but didn't say anything more about it. Instead, she slowly walked around Thorston once, and then... said in a calm tone, "You know... I can manipulate blood."
As she spoke, she gently bit her finger, and a drop of blood fell from her fingertip, then spun in the air and circled around Thorston once.
Southton didn't speak, but gritted his teeth and looked at Catherine. He seemed to have known about this all along, showing no surprise whatsoever.
It seems he knows quite a lot... After all, in Cinderella's memory, there aren't many people who know she knows blood magic.
So she chuckled softly and continued, "Manipulating blood always sounds evil... After all, blood, for humans, means the passing of life, doesn't it?"
"But actually..." she said, walking behind Thorston, her chilling voice ringing in his ear, "Blood can also give life."
"And the method is very simple..." As she spoke, Sidlin twitched her index finger slightly, and her drop of blood slowly floated in front of Thorston under his gaze, then gently landed on the wound on his arm, where blood was also flowing, but it was Thorston's own blood.
But under Cinderella's control, her blood stopped at the wound as if it were a living thing.
Sidley walked slowly around to Thorston and said, "The loss of blood means the loss of life, so how is the resurgence of life represented by blood?"
Before he could even think about anything, the drop of blood, under Sidlin's control, suddenly burrowed into Thorston's wound.
Then the drop of blood slowly congealed into a lump inside Southston's body.
Amidst his involuntary screams of agony, Catherine said expressionlessly, "Of course, you return the blood, right?"
"But..." she said, placing her hand on Thorston's wound, "our blood is different after all."
Her index finger lightly traced Thorston's arm, and her drop of blood darted through Thorston's veins, the blood flowing from one spot to the next.
This slight movement caused Thorston to grit his teeth and let out a scream that made people feel uneasy. Sidlin remained expressionless as she listened to the scream.
She merely flicked her index finger casually, yet the pain caused seemed to surpass all the tortures Thorston had previously endured.
He screamed repeatedly in the dungeon of Asura Palace, while Sidrin merely twitched her fingers slightly, her face remaining expressionless.
After playing for a while, Cidelina seemed a little tired and slowly said, "I'm not a vampire who likes to be so cruel to others... even humans."
"So please tell me who made you do this?" Catherine said calmly, "To make you so concerned about my student."
"I...I can't...Ouch!" He screamed again, and Cinderella's index finger slowly reached his severed wrist.
"When did the swordsmen of the Northern God School become so tough?" Cidel stopped pointing and asked slowly, "You just need to tell me who made you do this, and why..."
"That way you can leave more easily," Catherine said, shrugging. "But if you don't say anything..."
"I could play this game forever."
As she spoke, Catherine placed her index finger on Thorston's arm again: "I'm actually quite curious... whether it can just crawl out from your broken wrist..."
Thorston's face immediately turned pale, and his body trembled as if he had already imagined how painful it would be.
After a long period of inner turmoil, he finally pursed his lips and said, "You...you..."
"If I tell you... will you really stop?"
"Of course." Catherine nodded seriously. "I'm much more trustworthy than humans."
"..." After a few seconds of silence, Thorston slowly said, "That...the person who brought me here...he...or rather, Him..."
"He claims to be a god among men."
