Chapter 27: Confidence
Chapter 27: Confidence
I need to prove myself to my teacher!
All the way back to the dormitory, Luo Qixi had only one thought. She walked back to the dormitory in almost no word, startling Lanleta who was sitting in the chair. Then, under Lanleta's astonished gaze, she quickly grabbed her luggage.
"Luo Qixi, what's wrong with you?"
"I have something to take care of," she replied through gritted teeth, then picked up her small suitcase and left.
What's wrong?
Lanleta didn't quite understand... but after seeing that Loki hadn't taken away the bedding or anything, she breathed a slight sigh of relief... Maybe it was some kind of test?
She scratched her head.
Unlike Lanleta, who stayed in the dormitory, Luo Qixi felt a bit cold as she walked on the road, even though it was already summer.
She wrapped her robe tighter around herself and walked quickly out of the campus. It wasn't late at night yet, so many students still saw her.
"What is Luo Qixi doing?"
"Why are you still carrying luggage?"
"What's the matter?"
Although these words reached Luo Qixi's ears, they did not stop her in her tracks even slightly... She wanted to conquer the maze as quickly as possible to prove to her teacher... to prove that she was no longer a child, but a Water Saint... and a very powerful Water Saint at that.
Loki quickly walked to Sharia's Adventurers' Guild and headed straight for the counter.
"Hey, kid, what are you doing!" The adventurer, who had been bumped by her, glared at her in annoyance.
"I'm not a brat... I'm the Water Saint, do you want to try?" Lokishi, who was already in a bad mood, glared at him and then raised her staff.
"What's wrong with you?!" The adventurer took a few steps back and muttered angrily as he stood aside.
Seeing him retreat, Luo Qixi puffed out her cheeks and didn't say anything more, but instead looked at the guild lady behind the counter.
"Hello, I'd like to know which mazes are closest to here."
"Ah...you must be a seasoned adventurer by now, right?" The saleswoman smiled. "Could you please show me your adventurer's badge?"
Without a word, Loki took out her previous adventurer's badge from her pocket.
"Ah...you're already an A-rank adventurer, is that right?" the young lady said, somewhat surprised. "What level of dungeon information do you need?"
Luo Qixi was silent for a few seconds, then gripped her staff tightly and said, "A...A-rank."
"For an A-level maze... you might have trouble alone..."
"This was my adventurer level a long time ago," Loki interrupted her. "Back then, I wasn't a Water Saint yet."
"I know, but the magician..."
"You just need to give me the information." Luo Qixi didn't understand why everyone looked down on her like this... Was it because she looked like a child?
"I'm not a child anymore," Luo Qixi added.
"Ah... I understand, I understand." The saleswoman took out a document from the counter and handed it to Luo Qixi with a bit of helplessness.
"This is the information for 'Crimson Dragon's Tomb,' the closest A-rank dungeon to Sharia, but I still suggest you find some teammates..."
"No need." Luo Qixi took the information without hesitation and quickly walked out of the Adventurers' Guild.
She doesn't have time to waste here. She needs to conquer this maze as quickly as possible and show her teacher how amazing she is.
For some reason, as she walked down the street, Luo Qixi thought of the teacher's head-shaking gesture from back then...
They're just kids...
That's probably what the teacher was thinking... Come to think of it, I've always been like a child... But this time I'm going to prove to the teacher that I'm not the same person I was a few months ago.
Loki glanced down at the information. This maze called "Red Dragon Tomb" was indeed not far from Sharia, and it would only take a few hours by carriage... However, its difficulty was not low.
Even in an A-level dungeon, it's considered quite difficult... Hmph! Difficulty is good... Difficulty allows me to better prove myself.
Luo Qixi really wanted to see surprise and joy on her teacher's face... She wanted her teacher to be proud of her, and now she was confident she could be!
Without buying anything, Loki boarded the carriage. The carriages were nearly empty after sunset, allowing Loki to enjoy the tranquility.
She pursed her lips slightly as she watched the Lanoa Magic University, its lights twinkling atop the hills, gradually receding into the distance. Then she saw the Astronomical Tower near the moon.
I think I left in a bit of a hurry tonight... I didn't let the teacher suck my blood... Will the teacher be hungry? Or will she go find someone else?
Is there anyone else who would suit the teacher's taste at this late hour?
"If I have to blame someone... I can't blame myself..." Luo Qixi thought, hugging her knees. "I have to blame the teacher... for thinking I'm just a child..."
But don't worry, teacher... I'll be back soon.
"Pat...pat."
In the dead of night, the only companions for Luo Qixi were the sound of carriage wheels and horses' hooves on the ground.
As the moon rose above Loki's head, the carriage slowly came to a stop by a village.
Without any delay, after paying, Luo Qixi neatly straightened her robe and headed towards the woods outside the village.
If the map information is correct, it will take some time to walk to get to that maze...
Walking through the woods late at night, Luo Qixi subconsciously felt a little panicked... but this panic was quickly dispelled by the staff she held in her hand.
I am a Water Saint... Even if there is any danger, it is only for ordinary people... Besides, what danger could there be in the forest surrounding the village?
She took out the prepared lantern and lit it, and Lokishi emitted a faint light like a firefly in the forest.
The timing of her exploration of the maze wasn't ideal; strictly speaking, she should have waited until daytime... However, Loki had already rested in the carriage for a while, and she felt that she was in good condition...
But... but after sleeping with her, those dissatisfactions seemed to have faded a little, and Luo Qixi subconsciously felt a little... worried.
I rashly chose the A-level maze. Will I be able to succeed?
It should be possible, right? After all, I was just a B-rank adventurer before, and I had already conquered a B-rank dungeon with my teammates... Now I'm not only an A-rank adventurer, but I've also improved a lot since then.
It's just an A-level maze... it definitely won't be that difficult.
"I need to be confident..." Luo Qixi encouraged herself slightly, took a deep breath and calmed down.
Although it was late at night, Luo Qixi did not encounter any danger along the way. After walking alone for almost an hour, she saw the entrance to the Crimson Dragon Tomb mentioned in the map information.
It was a cave shaped like a dragon's head, and for some reason it was emitting a red glow... This might be where the name of this maze comes from.
According to the information... the maze has a total of twenty levels... which is not considered deep for an A-level maze. If nothing unexpected happens, the various supplies I have prepared should be more than enough.
If the exploration goes smoothly... I could even explore the entire maze in a single day.
Nodding slightly, Loki squeezed the Migrudia pendant hanging around her neck, then took firm steps down the labyrinth steps.
