Chapter 9: Ms. Sidlin's Teaching Bureau
Chapter 9: Ms. Sidlin's Teaching Bureau
"no."
Catherine's indifferent reply made Loki tremble slightly.
Seeing Loki's slightly nervous expression, Catherine shook her head and said, "Loki... I have conditions for accepting students."
"First and foremost, it has to taste good," Catherine said slowly. "I've also tasted the blood of that Miss Lanleta."
She pursed her lips and said, "Nothing special about it."
"Hmm..." For a moment, Luo Qixi was actually a little glad that her blood tasted good.
"And..." Sidley paused, "I've heard a lot about Miss Lanletta... she's failed her magic class three times in a row..."
"And she also failed seven or eight other courses." She raised an eyebrow as she spoke. "If this continues, she'll be expelled next semester."
"I don't want such a stupid student either." She shook her head as she spoke: "Teaching students who are too stupid is exhausting, both physically and mentally."
"Having one idiot like you is enough."
"..."
Luo Qixi looked at the teacher speechlessly. The teacher's answer was so serious... serious enough to be a little hurtful.
But this seemed like an expected answer, since Luo Qixi didn't think the teacher would take on another student...
"Then...then these snacks..." Loki thought for a moment and looked at the snacks that Lanleta had specially bought from the city on the table.
"I'll leave it here for you to eat," Catherine said with a shrug. "You're always hungry anyway, aren't you?"
It's true... every time the teacher sucks her blood, Luo Qixi feels a little hungry... maybe it's because she lost blood? She doesn't really know...
"So... is there anything else?" Cidelina asked quite seriously. She had gone to bed early this morning, so she was unusually energetic now...
With renewed energy, one naturally wants to do more interesting things.
"That's all for now." Luo Qixi thought for a moment and then added, "And about magic reserves... I've been practicing these past few days."
"Have you found anything?" Cidelina asked, pausing for a moment. "I don't think so, right?"
Not yet.
"This is in line with my expectations." Catherine nodded gently. "After all, it's only been a few days."
"Based on my estimate... it will take you about half a month of practice before you can cast one more water ball spell."
"Only... half a month?" Luo Qixi was a little surprised.
"If you had started practicing earlier, it should have only taken a week." Catherine's indifferent reply cooled down Loki's somewhat excited heart.
Being able to use one more Water Ball spell is pretty good though...
Seeing that Loki seemed a little happy, Cidline nodded gently: "We won't go into the topic of advanced magic today."
"There are some interesting things..." she said, taking a piece of parchment from her bosom and placing it on the table.
Upon closer inspection, Loki discovered that it was a commission from the Adventurers' Guild.
The rating is... "A"
"Teacher, what is this...?"
"Of course it's an adventurer's commission." Cidelina blinked. "Don't you know Common Tongue... wait, you can read it..."
"Teacher, I'm a little surprised," Luo Qixi quickly explained.
I see...
Seeing the teacher's matter-of-fact expression, Luo Qixi realized that she had almost been mistaken for an illiterate person.
"In short, this is tonight's homework," Cidelyn said slowly. "An A-level commission."
Luo Qixi subconsciously pursed her lips and looked down.
She had previously worked as an adventurer in the Adventurers' Guild for a while, but back then she was only a B-rank. Now, she's already got an A-rank quest right off the bat...
The so-called B-rank adventurer does not mean that they can complete B-rank quests on their own, so when faced with A-rank quests... Luo Qixi subconsciously felt a little guilty.
"What's wrong? Are you a little worried?" Cidelina saw through Loki's thoughts and said slowly, "I'll go with you."
"Teacher...is the teacher coming too?"
"Otherwise what?" Cinderella raised an eyebrow. "You really are a stupid apprentice... Trying to challenge an A-level commission alone with your level of magic is a bit overestimating yourself."
"I'll go with you and protect you..." Sidlin paused, then added, "But... if you can complete the task on your own."
"All the commission money will be yours... and I'll also reward you," Cidel said, a slight smile playing on her lips. "And if you don't complete it..."
"You won't get the money you were entrusted with... and I won't give you any silver coins today either."
"Ugh!" Upon hearing the words "no silver coins," Luo Qixi's body visibly trembled.
"Are you ready?" Catherine asked without giving Loki time to think. "I'm not giving you a choice."
"This is your homework."
Teacher, you wouldn't be deliberately trying to... suck my blood for free, would you...? Looking at that somewhat awkward request, Luo Qixi had this strange thought for the first time ever.
But it seems the teacher didn't give me the right to refuse.
After a few seconds of silence, Luo Qixi pursed her lips and nodded: "I'm ready!"
"Very impressive... Not bad, not bad." Cidelyn nodded in satisfaction and said, "Then let's set off now."
"If we're quick, we can get back before sunrise."
"Hmm?" Loki looked at Catherine with some surprise: "Teacher... the request wasn't about..."
"The Duchy of Basheland," Catherine read the location on the commission: "The forest outside Rosenberg."
"It's not too far," Catherine said, taking her black cloak off the rack and handing it to Loki.
Luo Qixi took the cloak somewhat bewildered, and even after putting it on, she still didn't know how her teacher was going to take her back and forth to Rosenberg in one night...
She followed Catherine to the window of the room, and then watched in bewilderment as Catherine slowly opened the window.
She only came to her senses when a slight cold wind blew in.
"Teacher... this is going to be..." The wind in the towering astronomical tower was quite strong, and Luo Qixi had to tighten her cloak as she spoke.
"Of course we're leaving," Cidel said matter-of-factly, then nodded as if remembering something. "Ah... I almost forgot."
"You don't know yet."
As she spoke, she turned slightly to the side, revealing her back to Loki, and then, to Loki's surprise, a pair of tiny bat wings emerged from Cinderella's back.
"Vampires can fly." Cinderella nodded gently at the stunned Lokishi, then opened her arms and picked Lokishi up in a princess carry.
"You're lighter than I expected."
"Teacher...?"
"Don't get excited." Cinderella looked down at her flushed face and smiled. "I'll take you flying right away."
"No...no...please wait...ah!"
Before she could finish speaking, Cinderella jumped out of the window with Loki in her arms, and then soared into the air under the silver moon.
