Chapter 87: Trying to Replicate Success Stories
Leone lost her father at the age of seven and her mother at the age of ten. Fortunately, the neighbors in the Slam slum were all kind people, allowing her to grow up on the kindness of many families.
Now, at fifteen years old, the girl is already a seasoned broker.
Earlier, I happened to see Broly and his group entering the Guihua Fang, a place with high prices, outside the hotel. After seeing the carriage parked outside, I judged that they were a group of people from out of town and thought that they would find a place to stay after eating and drinking their fill.
So Leone waited around, and sure enough, after the group finished eating and drinking and came out of the Osmanthus Pavilion, she went over to talk to them. Among the group members, whose average age looked younger than her, one boy showed a very interested look.
[New target discovered, Leone, current happiness level 0]
Broly was somewhat surprised, not expecting that after being rejected by the dazed girl at the hotel, he would now have a new target for his pursuit.
"Excuse me, we have a map with basic information about the hotels on it. I don't think we need to lead the way."
Those damn map-selling shops!
Leone hates these things; city maps take up space for the tour guides and children, and people who usually buy local city maps after entering a city are generally experienced travelers.
"Brother, you don't know this, but the information on the map isn't always accurate. Some hotels pay map printing factories to write nice things about them on the map, but in reality, the cost is passed on to the customers. Those hotels usually charge higher rates than hotels of the same level."
The hotels I took were different. As a local, I knew the area well and what those hotels were like.
I'm even somewhat familiar with some of the hotel owners, so I can use my connections to get you discounted accommodations, and all you need to do is pay me a small tip for showing you around.
Leone had no intention of giving up on the deal; she was using persuasive tactics to try and convince the group of younger customers.
Of course, Leone wasn't lying. With her thick skin and silver tongue, she was confident she could get the hotel owners to give her a discount.
After all, she brought so many customers over, it wouldn't be right not to offer a discount. At most, she could get a smaller commission and then make some more money from the customers in front of her. Slum girl's plan complete.jpg!
"Thank you, but..."
Naha was about to refuse, but Broly spoke first: "Will giving you a tip to show us the way make you happy?"
Leone: "???"
What kind of question is this?
Does the ability to earn money without taking it for granted make people happy?
Although she harbored some resentment in her heart, Leone put on a polite smile and bowed, saying, "It is my honor to serve such an esteemed guest."
"Brother, do we really need to spend money to have someone show us the way?"
Nahashu was somewhat puzzled.
"Why wouldn't we spend money on things that bring us happiness?"
Broly countered with a question.
This statement seems reasonable, since Katisi was very generous when he supported Batunan in attacking the spring. However, it seems a bit strange that he would be so generous to a stranger he had just met.
Akame and Mine exchanged glances, and a guess formed in their minds.
Merard noticed something from the side, silently walked behind the man called Leo the broker, sniffed the man's scent, and after smelling something, his lips twitched.
"What are you smelling?"
Leone heard a noise behind her, turned around, and saw a girl sniffing her, which startled her somewhat.
"It's nothing, I was just smelling to see if you have body odor!"
Melard gave a perfunctory reply.
"Guests, although I'm not dressed very well, I'm at least kept to a basic level of cleanliness. Please don't judge a professional agent like me with amateurish eyes." After a pause, Leone asked, "So, do you want to hire me or not?"
"Since your brother wants to make money for you, then we'll let you make money. We hope you won't fool us and your brother. Take us to a nice hotel; accommodation is not a problem."
Broly had already made his decision, so Nahash and the others naturally had no objections.
It's just money, right? After meeting Esdeath, they also learned that hunting Dangerous Species could earn them money by exchanging special materials from them.
Even if their eldest brother leaves them later, they can still earn money by hunting dangerous species and survive in this world.
Of course, this is all contingent on Merard firing them and forcing them to find other ways to make a living.
If that situation really occurs, they can follow Sister Esdeath, who is a true expert in wilderness survival.
Leone was delighted because she had closed a deal, and judging from the attitude of these guests, they were clearly wealthy. She could take them to a high-end hotel and collect more commission and tips.
Dressed like a tomboy, she enthusiastically led the way, with Broly and the others following behind in their car.
Inside the carriage, Mine leaned close to the boy and asked, "Is that one with newly appeared wings also?"
"Um."
Broly nodded, making no attempt to hide anything from Mine. Meanwhile, as Leone happily led the way, the happiness level displayed on his Crystal Palace was steadily increasing.
"Have you considered how to invite them to become your wings?"
"Maine asked."
Broly thought for a moment, then said to Mine, "How about we form a new group, with each of you acting as my wings, and sincerely invite the other to join?"
Broly doesn't have many tricks up his sleeve when it comes to inviting someone to be his wife; most of the time he's straightforward. But he just failed once in the Osmanthus Garden, and now he's thinking about how he successfully invited Mine to his room, so he wants to replicate that success.
"I don't think so. That kind of performance art is too avant-garde. If I hadn't received such a great favor from you, I definitely wouldn't have agreed to become wings."
To be honest, Mine didn't really want to imitate wings or tail feathers.
"What are you talking about?"
Esdeath noticed the two of them whispering to each other, so she came over from behind to ask them what was going on.
"It's nothing, just talking about how he successfully invited me back then..."
Mine replied that there was nothing to hide from the Wings members who were also recognized.
The reason Mine brought this up was mainly to get Esdeath to persuade Broly not to actually bring them together to form a new "Great Roc Spreading Its Wings" with him just to invite new people.
Just thinking about that position makes one feel somewhat ashamed.
