Chapter 29 Poison! Brother Wei, save me!
Chapter 29 Poison! Brother Wei, save me!
"call out--"
Another whistle blew.
The blizzards, which had swarmed like clouds outside the courtyard wall, buzzed away, and the surrounding area fell silent once more.
The gazes of the crowd toward Wei Wu were filled with a chilling flame; if looks could kill, he would probably be torn to pieces by now.
Unfortunately, this group of people couldn't do it.
Wei Wu ignored them and brought Lin Xian'er to Xinmei.
"What are you doing!" Qin Zhong roared, blocking Wei Wu's path. His eyes were bloodshot and filled with undisguised hatred.
His legs trembled with fear, but he still stood in front of Wei Wu.
Wei Wu patted his face and said, "At least you have some conscience. Get out of here. Aren't you afraid of delaying your master's detoxification?"
Qin Zhong was a whole size older than Wei Wu. Wherever he went, people treated him with great courtesy because of his father and master. He had never been insulted like this before.
In a fit of anger, he gave up his seat without saying a word.
Xin Jian stood to the side, holding a Zen staff, his eyes full of vigilance and distrust. Eight Shaolin disciples formed a semi-circle around Xin Mei, forming a half-formed Arhat Staff Formation, clearly indicating that they did not trust Wei Wu.
Wei Wu stepped forward, flicked his sleeve, and thirteen silver needles were inserted into thirteen acupoints on the forehead. Some needles appeared to be shallowly inserted into the skin, wobbling as if they would fall off at any moment, while others were mostly inserted, leaving only a glint of cold light on the outside. This scene made the Shaolin monks' eyelids twitch, unsure whether to say that Wei Wu was highly skilled and daring, or that his technique was lacking.
Soon, Xinmei's face turned from bluish-purple to black, her lips turned dark purple, and drops of foul blood flowed out along the constantly shaking silver needles. The silver needles that were mostly submerged were pushed out, and when they fell out, everyone saw that a tiny insect was stuck in one of them.
Everyone who saw this turned pale.
Blood dripped down, poisonous insects were expelled, and Xinmei's face turned pale. Then her eyelids twitched, and she coughed heavily, "Ugh..."
"vomit!"
He spat out a mouthful of foul blood, and his face finally regained its rosy hue. However, beneath this rosy complexion lay a deathly pallor, as if he were a piece of canvas placed in a basin of water, with all the paint floating up.
Seeing that Wei Wu had easily cured the Five Poison Boy's poison, everyone felt somewhat relieved and finally had confidence for the next three days' journey.
Wei Wu didn't care about what others thought; this was the first time since he came into this world that he had felt competitive with anyone.
The art of poison lies in its cunning, its danger, its unexpectedness, and its extensive knowledge and strong memory.
Luck plays a bigger role too!
Some renowned poison masters in the martial arts world use only common poisons. What they are proud of is their method of poisoning, which has long been studied by others. They will die if they encounter a true master.
However, some obscure black shops, by sheer chance, can concoct potent poisons that can incapacitate even top experts, with varying effects!
What Cao Cao wanted was to draw on the strengths of all schools of thought in order to refine his poison formula.
He carefully put away the thirteen silver needles and tossed a small green bottle to Xinmei, containing a round pill. "Take it in two hours. Don't eat or drink anything during this time, and even spit your saliva out."
Xinmei, who was slowly waking up, was extremely weak. She managed to nod with difficulty, her lips moving as if she were saying something like "thank you."
Wei Wu waved his hand at him and looked at the room where they had been before.
Xue Yingzi said, "This house is quite nice. We've also prepared this room. If Brother Wei wants to stay overnight, you can have my good-for-nothing apprentice guard the door for you."
As he spoke, he kicked You Longsheng.
You Longsheng looked at his master with a resentful expression. After being glared at by the latter, he nodded with three parts unwillingness, three parts helplessness, and four parts smugness, "I can stay up tonight and make sure no one can disturb you."
He stared intently at Wei Wu.
Wei Wu: "?"
What the hell!
That look in his eyes...
Wei Wu felt a chill run down his spine. He pointed at the Shaolin monks and said, "I need to research some poisons. Let the monks guard me."
After saying that, he immediately turned around and went into the house.
Lin Xian'er hurried after him, and just as she was about to enter, she suddenly heard You Longsheng say, "Miss Lin, thank you for taking good care of Brother Wei tonight."
Lin Xian'er paused, frowned, and turned to look at You Longsheng. She saw that the fervor in his eyes was gone, replaced by a hint of hostility.
She paused slightly, then her pupils contracted, and she strode into the house as if she had seen something filthy. "Disgusting! I thought I only needed to be wary of women, but now even men aren't safe!"
Lin Xian'er complained coquettishly, clearly not taking You Longsheng seriously and only using him as a joke.
But Wei Wu's face looked somewhat solemn.
She stepped forward and took Wei Wu's arm, glancing outside out of the corner of her eye. Seeing no one on the ground, she lowered her voice and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Didn't you see that You Longsheng was acting strangely?" Wei Wu glanced at her, then reached out and pulled her into his arms, crossing his arms in front of his chest and slipping them inside his clothes.
Lin Xian'er trembled slightly, then whispered, "It seems he has fallen for you."
"Do you think this is possible?" Wei Wu asked rhetorically.
Lin Xian'er chuckled, a blush rising on her fair face. Her alluring eyes captivated Wei Wu, and her round, red lips kissed his chin, her tongue briefly brushing against him. "If it were anyone else, I wouldn't believe it, but if it's you, I think nothing is impossible."
Wei Wu lowered his head and kissed Lin Xian'er's lips. After a moment of silence, he released her and said, "This person has been poisoned."
Lin Xian'er was panting, her eyes seemingly filled with a thin mist, as she leaned limply in Wei Wu's arms. "Didn't the Five Poison Child say he would spare us for one night?"
"You believe the words of heretics?" Wei Wu looked at Lin Xian'er in surprise. "It seems I really need to examine you properly to see if you've been poisoned too!"
Lin Xian'er bit her thin lips lightly, and as she turned around, her shoulders, as white as mutton-fat jade, were revealed. She leaned against him, one hand slipping inside his clothes. "I've been bewitched by you for a long time!"
……
Silent all night.
The Shaolin disciples guarding the house sat cross-legged outside, each with large, bluish eye bags on their faces. Perhaps they had been frozen all night, because their faces were all purplish-red, looking as if they had been smeared with chicken blood.
Qin straightened his mourning clothes and came out of another room. The white cloth on his forehead was tied diagonally on his head. He looked weak and wary at everyone. He walked quickly, as if something dirty was following him.
Following behind him, You Longsheng also walked incorrectly, his expression showing a dazed and disbelieving look, as if he were on the verge of collapse.
Xueyingzi and Xinjian kept watch on the large tiled house on the left all night. Both were exhausted and did not notice the strangeness of their disciple and nephew, assuming that the two had not slept well.
They really didn't sleep well.
When Wei Wu and Lin Xian'er walked out the door looking refreshed, You Longsheng, enduring excruciating pain, rushed forward and knelt down with a thud.
"Brother Wei, save me!"
