Chapter 148 Bai Feng, "Xu Kai" wants to be reincarnated!

Cangshan Mountain has a total of nineteen peaks. Tianlong Temple is located north of Zhongyue Peak, backed by Cangshan Mountain and facing Erhai Lake.

The ancestors of the Duan family who were emperors all abdicated in their later years and became monks, all of them taking refuge in Tianlong Temple.

After the emperor became a monk, his descendants would visit the temple to pay homage on his birthday, and each time they did so, they would receive a reward.

Having been passed down to this day, Tianlong Temple boasts three pavilions, seven towers, nine halls, and a hundred buildings. It is grand in scale and exquisitely constructed, comparable to the luxurious temples of Putuo and Emei. However, due to its location in southern Xinjiang, it is not particularly famous.

Outsiders would be even less likely to know about things like "the loser's prison" and "the Duan family temple".

Even with the Tianming Sect's intelligence network, they only had a superficial understanding of Tianlong Temple. This was because the temple was staffed either by elderly monks in their seventies or eighties or by young novices who served them. The elderly monks were mostly without desires or wants, and the young monks knew nothing about it, making it impossible to investigate.

The wealth, power, and beauty that people pursue are things that the high monks of Tianlong Temple have had since birth, and they have given them up willingly.

If a person can even relinquish the throne, what else can't they let go of? The four elements are empty, the five aggregates are empty, everything is empty, each one of them is a great monk and virtuous person.

Humans are inherently greedy, and monks in most temples would compete for positions such as head monk, chief monk, and abbot. However, the high monks of Tianlong Temple would never do such a thing.

This old monk is the emperor's uncle, that old monk is the emperor's grandfather, this one was a great general, that one abdicated the throne to you a few years ago, what is there to fight for?

The abbot's seat is open to anyone who wants to take it!

If you're so capable, go and order "Grandpa Emperor" around.

According to the family rules of the Duan family in Dali, Duan Yanqing was escorted to Tianlong Temple, where he shaved his head and became a monk. From then on, he devoted himself to the ancient Buddha and chanted sutras for blessings, never leaving his home.

After reciting scriptures at Tianlong Temple for ten years, no matter how ambitious one may be, one will eventually become Amitabha Buddha.

With the loss of Duan Yanqing, the "legitimate" leader, the Heavenly Mandate Sect's plan to overthrow Dali was completely thwarted.

The true successor is not Duan Yanqing, but Duan Yu. Duan Yu is the recognized successor of Dali by the Duan family, the Gao family, and the Han family, and no one can change that.

Zhan Yu and the others knew nothing of this. In order to rescue Duan Yanqing, they devised the "Plum Blossom Split Plan". They took advantage of Duan Zhengchun's amorous nature to kidnap Qin Hongmian and Mu Wanqing, hiding them in two different places. They then arranged to meet at the last place, forcing Dali to split up its forces.

If Duan Zhengchun could persuade several skilled monks to leave, leaving Tianlong Temple unguarded, Fu Yaojin's lightness skill and Luo Chaogui's thieving techniques, combined with Duan Yanqing's already considerable martial arts skills, might be able to rescue Duan Yanqing.

The three had Mingli Hall spies monitor the actions of the Zhennan Prince's Mansion. They saw Xu Qingya carrying the Magpie Blade go to rescue Mu Wanqing, saw Duan Zhengchun go to keep the appointment, and saw Yu Qiao Geng Du leading several old monks to rescue Qin Hongmian. Knowing that the plan had succeeded, they immediately rushed to Tianlong Temple.

With several top-notch fighters transferred away, the defenses of Tianlong Temple were quite weak. Fu Yaojin was skilled in light-footed martial arts, and Luo Chaogui was a notorious bandit. Relying on his ability to scale walls and rooftops, he easily sneaked into Tianlong Temple and found the Buddhist hall where people were ordained.

Fu Yaojin and Luo Chaogui exchanged a glance. They both knew that this trip was extremely dangerous, but the die was cast and they had no other choice. Their eyes met and they decided to go ahead.

Inside the Buddhist hall, Master Kurong, the most senior monk of Tianlong Temple, held a razor and shaved Duan Yanqing's head. He was chanting incantations. Although Kurong's face was ugly and his voice was hoarse, his expression during the shaving was compassionate and benevolent.

"You were once the legitimate ruler of Dali, harboring ambitions of hegemony and vying for power, but today all of that has turned to dust."

Tianlong Temple is the ancestral temple of the Duan family. Successive emperors abdicated here and became monks, relinquishing their crowns and power, finally finding liberation. Whether they were imperial uncles or imperial grandfathers, how illustrious they were in the past, they now willingly embrace the ancient Buddha and the dim lamp.

It is only because they have realized that worldly fame and fortune are nothing but dreams and illusions. Your struggles, like the ripples of Erhai Lake, will eventually subside. Your ambitions, like the clouds and mist of Cangshan Mountain, will dissipate with the wind. Now that you have entered the temple, you are no longer Duan Yanqing.

I bestow upon you the Dharma name — Benwu!

No Bodhi tree, nor stand mirror.

There is nothing, where can the dust be.

All beings suffer because they cling to illusions.

From this day forward, forget the past and focus on reciting the Buddha's name.

Morning bells and evening drums, chanting scriptures and praying for blessings, staying at home, the heart returns to the Pure Land. Ambitious ambitions and great deeds eventually return to emptiness. Decades later, ambitions transform into Amitabha Buddha, and all worldly ties vanish like smoke. Having entered the Buddhist gate, one should maintain a pure mind.

A moment of pure thought brings boundless freedom.

Amitabha Buddha, excellent, excellent!

Master Kurong diligently practiced the "Kurong Zen Gong," a method that can conserve qi and blood, causing the body to age like rotten wood, reducing bodily depletion, and thus maintaining a healthy state.

Unfortunately, he lacked the opportunity to truly grasp the state of being half-withered and half-flourishing, a world away from the state of "neither withered nor flourishing, yet both withered and flourishing." As a result, half of his dough resembled a skull, while the other half was rosy and glossy, making him look less like a Buddhist monk and more like someone who had gone mad while practicing martial arts.

Normally, Kurong would turn his back to speak for fear of frightening others. Now, he revealed his true form and shaved Duan Yanqing's head, hoping to persuade Duan Yanqing to let go.

If Duan Yanqing had been captured alive, recalling his painful experience of pleading desperately outside Tianlong Temple but being refused even by Master Kurong, his pent-up anger of twenty years would have erupted. Not to mention letting go of his obsession, he might have even disintegrated his demonic body on the spot and clashed with Master Kurong.

Suddenly, Duan Yanqing's ears twitched. He heard the signal from Fu Yaojin and Luo Chaogui. His eyes flashed with a wicked glint, and he roared in ventriloquism, "If it weren't for you, you old bastard, taking sides back then, I would have been emperor long ago! Who gave you the right to whine!"

Before he could finish speaking, Duan Yanqing pointed a finger at him. Master Kurong, unaware of the truth, mistakenly thought that Duan Yanqing was genuinely angry about what had happened back then. Putting himself in Duan Yanqing's shoes, he realized that what he had just said was indeed extremely rude and deserved a beating.

"Snapped!"

Duan Yanqing placed his fingertip on Master Kurong's chest.

The four senior monks serving nearby simultaneously raised their index fingers and shouted angrily, "Duan Yanqing, release Master Kurong! Do you want to compound your mistake?"

Duan Yanqing sneered disdainfully, "Kurong, did you hear what they said? I am Duan Yanqing, not some Benwu! Since you haven't accepted me, what use is it if I recite scriptures for thirty years?"

Before he finished speaking, Duan Yanqing soared into the air, and Master Kurong fell to the ground with a livid face. Fu Yaojin and Luo Chaogui attacked from both sides. Fu Yaojin's weapon was a boot with a hidden dagger, and Luo Chaogui was good at using an axe. All masters who are good at using axes can definitely use throwing axes. Seeing Master Kurong fall, Luo Chaogui thought to himself, "You old monster who is neither human nor ghost, this is all thanks to me."

"Whoosh!"

A flying axe shot towards Master Kuru.

Fu Yaojin then joined forces with Duan Yanqing to attack Benguan.

Duan Yanqing's martial arts were already superior to those of the temple, and with the help of Fu Yaojin, they attacked from both sides and gained an absolute advantage in less than three moves. Meanwhile, Bencan used his One-Finger Divine Skill to block the flying axe and engaged in a fierce battle with Luo Chaogui.

Tianlong Temple was the Duan family temple, so it was impossible for it to be guarded by only a few old monks. Upon hearing the shouts of battle, the Imperial Guards, disguised as monks, took up their swords and formed a battle formation.

Most monks use clubs as weapons; very few monks use swords. Those who use sword formations are mostly nuns.

Only two large temples are exceptions.

First, there is the Shaolin Temple, whose direct lineage is the Arhat Sword Formation, also known as the Bodhidharma Sword Formation. It is a five-person formation with power comparable to the Six Meridians Divine Sword Formation, and it was highly praised by Kumārajīva.

Secondly, there is Tianlong Temple. Duan Siping, the patriarch of the Duan family, knew that the Six Meridians Divine Sword was too difficult to master. His descendants could at most master one or two meridians, and it would be extremely difficult to master all six meridians. Therefore, he left behind a sword formation diagram so that his descendants could form a formation to defend against enemies.

This method does not require mastery of the Six Meridians Divine Sword. As long as you have a basic understanding of swordsmanship, you can set up the formation. The formation is based on the number "six" and is multiplied by it. For example, there is a six-person basic sword formation, a twelve-person Yin-Yang sword formation, an eighteen-person Three Talents sword formation, a twenty-four-person Four Symbols sword formation, and a thirty-six-person Heavenly Gang sword formation.

The Imperial Guards had arranged a formidable Heavenly Gang and Earthly Fiend Sword Formation of 108 men, their swords gleaming coldly, weaving a net that completely surrounded the entire Buddhist hall.

Fu Yaojin and Luo Chaogui were greatly alarmed.

Weren't the masters of Tenryu-ji transferred away?

If there are so many experts outside, how could we easily infiltrate the Buddhist hall, unless this is—

-trap!

The two reacted incredibly quickly, but the fight was already over the moment they jumped in.

Duan Yanqing suddenly attacked, joining forces with Ben Guan to strike Fu Yaojin from both sides, sealing his acupoints.

Master Ku Rong, who had been lying on the ground, stood up unharmed, raised his hand and pointed out a finger—a third-rank Yi Yang Finger—which sealed Luo Chaogui's acupoints.

The two men stared wide-eyed, then collapsed, limp and lifeless.

Duan Yanqing coldly replied, "The kingdom of Dali belongs to my adopted son, Duan Yu! Since it will be passed on to him sooner or later anyway, why shouldn't I offer him a benefit?"

Fu Yaojin and Luo Chaogui were completely dumbfounded.

Is this the throne?

You willingly gave it to your godson?

Let alone godson, even biological son wouldn't work, right?

Are you kidding me?

After more than twenty years of hard work and struggle, enduring countless hardships and killing countless people, serving Li Qiushui like a slave, I finally got this opportunity.

Are you just going to give up like that?

Are you fucking Duan Yanqing?

Fu Yaojin angrily cursed, "Duan Yanqing, you son of a bitch, you have no morals! I curse you to be childless and without descendants!"

Luo Chaogui roared, "Duan Yanqing, don't think you can get away with what you've done! So what if you capture us? Zhan Yu will avenge us!"

Duan Yanqing sneered, "At this time, Xu Qingya should have already gone to meet Zhan Yu. You two are very lucky to live a few days longer than Zhan Yu."

The series of actions taken by the Heavenly Mandate Sect against Dali were absolutely the worst moves of all. Shan Yuru knew nothing about the situation in Dali, only that Duan Yanqing was originally the legitimate crown prince of Dali and was determined to reclaim the throne.

If Shan Yu subconsciously analyzed Dali according to the model of the Central Plains dynasties, the outcome would naturally be defeat. Her three highly skilled subordinates, along with her martial arts aunt Tian Qi, would either be beheaded on the spot or await execution in the autumn.

The Dali branch of the Heavenly Mandate Sect was completely eradicated by Gao Shengtai's troops, with members either killed or captured.

Even the power faction got a piece of the action.

Liu Suifeng, the chief steward of the Power Gang, loved nothing more than planting spies. He had planted a number of spies in various factions. Gao Shengtai, meanwhile, was wiping out all the secret agents within Dali.

Whether it was a branch of the Heavenly Mandate Sect, a spy from the Western Xia Mingli Hall, or an undercover agent from the Power Gang, Gao Shengtai found them all and disposed of them.

Fu Yaojin and Luo Chaogui were just two unlucky guys in this massive operation.

In the evening, good news kept coming in.

Disguised as Xu Qingya, Hua Baifeng easily rescued Mu Wanqing. Duan Zhengchun personally rescued Qin Hongmian. Yin Susu achieved a great victory at Tianqi Nunnery. With the help of Tianhen, she captured all those who had been bribed by Tianqi and supported Tianhen to become the abbess without disturbing the other nuns.

Thus, this seemingly grand but ultimately treacherous plot, triggered by the Heavenly Mandate Sect, came to a satisfactory conclusion. Duan Yanqing chanted sutras at Tianlong Temple, Duan Zhengchun rekindled his old flame with his former lover, and Xu Qingya fought fiercely with Tian Qilong, gaining a profound understanding of the "Dual Perfection of Knife and Leg."

Knife skills, leg techniques, and body techniques are integrated into one.

With Tianqi's profound internal energy, he could only passively endure Xu Qingya's fierce and relentless attacks. In addition, with the energy recovery effect of Lingbo Weibu, as long as he was not interrupted by outsiders, Xu Qingya could bombard him for an entire day.

Xu Qingya's main purpose in going to Dali was to travel and enjoy himself. He was not in a hurry to go back. He had not yet fully enjoyed the four scenic wonders of Dali, so how could he leave empty-handed?

I finally got a vacation, and even worked overtime during my vacation. For the rest of the time, even if the King of Heaven himself asked me to work overtime, I would pretend I didn't hear him.

"Throughout history, most martial arts masters have created their unique skills based on the changes in nature. The 'Xiaguan Wind,' one of the four scenic wonders of Dali, is perfect for practicing the Wind Pillar Skill. Would you like to give it a try?"

Xu Qingya looked at everyone with a smile.

Duan Yu had no interest in it, as did Zhong Ling and Cheng Lingsu. Yin Susu and Hua Baifeng, however, were quite interested. Qin Nanqin was in charge of the barbecue and cooking.

The so-called "wind pillar skill" involves building "air holes" in locations with strong mountain winds, allowing the mountain winds to rush down through the air holes. People under the air holes bear the impact, and ordinary people who practice this method will suffer broken bones and tendons in a short time.

To practice the Wind Pillar Skill, one must have a certain level of internal strength foundation and also need to have a body-tempering liquid. Apply it once before each practice session. Over time, not only will your skill become more refined, but your body will also become stronger.

Once the Wind Pillar Skill is mastered, one can then cultivate the "Water Wave Skill," which is similar to Yang Guo practicing swordsmanship in the ocean, letting the endless waves crash against his body and using the waves to stimulate his body's potential.

If one can cultivate two methods at the same time, in just three or four years, one can develop pure, profound, and vast internal energy, as well as a healthy physique and powerful strength with blood and qi as strong as a dragon, capable of sweeping away eight horses.

In the original storyline, Kou Yingjie practiced the Wind Pillar Skill and Water Wave Skill for about two years, and when he emerged from the mountain, he was already a top master. The power of this skill was comparable to the Northern Darkness Divine Skill.

The pristine climate of Xiaguan Feng is naturally suitable for practicing Fengzhu Gong (a martial art). There is no need to build air holes; simply stand downwind and let the mountain wind blow on you. Practice according to the direction of the wind flow to quickly enhance your physique.

Of course, the same question remains.

One cannot cultivate directly.

A divine physician is needed to help prepare the medicinal liquid.

When martial arts reach a certain level, the effect of the Wind Pillar Skill will become less and less effective. For Xu Qingya, when he is downwind, he does not feel a strong wind, but a power that he can control at will.

Yin Susu and Hua Baifeng practiced the Wind Pillar Skill downwind, following the secret manual. Xu Qingya sat cross-legged, combining Lingbo Weibu and Xiaguan Feng to comprehend the Wind God Leg technique, striving to make the Wind God Leg move more seamless and flawless.

Yin Susu tried for three days and cried out in pain. She felt sore all over, as if every joint had come loose and every muscle had lost its function. She needed Xu Qingya to soothe her meridians and Cheng Lingsu to prepare medicine so that she could stand up.

After practicing for five days, Hua Baifeng developed ugly red rashes all over her body, resembling hives. Cheng Lingsu applied medicine to her, and she gradually recovered.

The training process was arduous, but the benefits of the Wind Pillar Skill were obvious. The two women's appetites increased significantly, and their strength was much greater than before. Yin Susu's family martial art was the Claw Technique, which was originally an external martial art, so she had a deeper understanding of it.

With good health, abundant blood and energy, and sharp hearing and eyesight, coupled with the fact that he had been holding back his energy for several days to practice, accumulating a lot of internal heat, once he reached the minor success of the Wind Pillar Skill, his body was no longer in so much pain. Yin Susu pressed Xu Qingya down, and no matter how much Xu Qingya struggled, the demoness ultimately succeeded.

Hua Baifeng, who lived in the next room, listened to Xu Qingya and Yin Susu flirting. She felt as if her heart was burning. The benefits of the Wind Pillar Skill turned into disadvantages at this moment.

Despite being separated by a thick wall, he could hear everything clearly and even analyze the state of the next room through the sounds, guessing that Xu Qingya was "stabbing Yin Susu in the back" and feeling extremely hot all over.

Cheng Lingsu also felt a little regretful. If she had known that the Wind Pillar Skill was so effective, she should have practiced it along with others and recovered her health sooner, so that she wouldn't be able to only watch but not eat.

Qin Nanqin smiled smugly. As a maid, she could drink the soup no matter which lady ate meat.

Cheng Lingsu was mistaken. The Wind Pillar Technique has a threshold for cultivation, and she has not yet reached that threshold.

In addition, the "Medical Family's" ancestral Heavenly Silkworm Skill also has the effect of strengthening the body, preventing all kinds of diseases, and once you have mastered it, you can restore your body.

Cheng Lingsu's training speed was relatively slow, mainly because she suffered from malnutrition since childhood and needed nutritional supplements.

So, eat well and strive for excellence every day!

Before he knew it, Xu Qingya had been in Dali for more than half a month. Apart from dealing with the Heavenly Mandate Sect, he hadn't done anything important and had left everything to Hua Mancong. Instead, he had explored all the famous scenic spots in Dali.

Having traveled this far, Xu Qingya can even act as a tour guide for Duan Yu, a local. He knows many beautiful sights that even Duan Yu doesn't know about.

On this day, everyone took a day off to do what they liked. Qin Nanqin and Cheng Lingsu studied snake catching, Zhong Ling was taken out fishing by Yin Susu, Duan Yu went to learn the art of governing a country, and Hua Baifeng, who didn't have any hobbies, simply went out for a trip with Xu Qingya to admire the camellias covering the mountains.

It was the height of summer, and the mountains and fields were covered with colorful flowers. The camellias of all colors were breathtaking, and in some secluded valleys, the flowers were piled up like carpets.

Xu Qingya couldn't even name most of the flowers; he only knew they were beautiful, and the white phoenix among them was especially charming and captivating.

In this valley bursting with blooming flowers, Hua Baifeng understood perfectly what Xu Qingya wanted to do, and what Hua Baifeng wanted to do—

There's no need to guess at all.

Hua Baifeng softly collapsed amidst the myriad flowers, feeling the mountain breeze, the fragrance of wildflowers, and the warmth of Xu Qingya. Comfortably, she closed her eyes, tightly embracing Xu Qingya, enjoying the long-awaited pleasure until her strength dissipated, her whole body feeling as if she were lying on a cloud.

"My lord, I am frank with you—"

"Bai Feng, you are a demoness from the Demonic Sect!"

"Hmm! Lord Marquis already knew?"

"Ruyi Heavenly Demon, Eight Consecutive Forms—aside from those lunatics from the Western Regions Demonic Sect, who else would master such a bizarre, strange, and poorly refined sword technique? Using this move against me is already a declaration of your intentions; why bother saying it aloud?"

"I want to say it myself!"

"I'll shut you up!"

"My lord~~ Waaaaah~~"

"Our son wants to be reincarnated!"

"This servant will bear you a little devil!"

"My son will definitely become a great hero!"
