Chapter 127 The Story of the Sky Island

Chapter 127 The Story of the Sky Island

Gan Fall, the Skypiea God from the timeline before Enel appeared, during Luffy's era.

They are people who are willing to admit past mistakes and coexist with the Shandians, but don't know how to do it.

Through his narration, the feud between the Sky Islanders and the Shandians was presented from a relatively objective perspective.

More than 370 years ago, the island of Jaya, which was originally located in the sea, was suddenly lifted 1 meters into the air by a surging ocean current.

Because there are sky islands above Jaya Island, and special island clouds that form them, Jaya Island, which was swept into the sky, is permanently stuck there.

The Sky Islanders live on the Sky Island.

They were actually aware of Qinghai's existence, because every so often, the surging ocean currents would wash some items from Qinghai onto the floating island.

The people of the Sky Island treasured the materials that washed ashore and regarded them as a gift from heaven.

Naturally, Jaya Island, which was swept into the sky by the surging ocean currents, was regarded by the Sky Islanders as a sacred place bestowed by heaven.

Because resources are scarce on the Sky Island, land suitable for growing crops is a treasure more precious than gold to the Sky Island inhabitants.

Therefore, even though there were native inhabitants on Jaya Island, they justified their occupation of the island and renamed it "God's Island" Apayado.

But how could the Shandians, whose homeland had been forcibly occupied and plundered, possibly accept this?

That was their ancestral home, the place they had relied on for generations!

In addition, there's the Golden Bell, the Poneglyphs that need to be protected for generations, and the promise between the great warrior Calgara and Noland.

None of these are things that the Shandians can easily give up.

Thus began a long war that lasted 400 years.

In the original timeline, this war continued until Gan Fall became the "god" of Skypiea, at which point the conflict between the two sides eased somewhat.

Because Gan Faure was a person who could view history rationally and upheld the concept of peaceful coexistence.

He wanted to end this long war so that the two peoples could live together in harmony.

Similarly, the Shandians, who had been fighting for 400 years, also wanted to rest and recuperate.

However, the promise made by the great warrior Calgara always weighed on their shoulders, and the even older promise to protect the Golden City made it even more difficult for them to let go of it.

So the Shandians proposed that the Sky Islanders return the Golden Bell and the Golden City in exchange for their forgiveness of the Sky Islanders' invasion.

but……

The Sky Islanders were unaware of the existence of the Golden Bell and the Golden Land.

As the Sky Island ascended into the sky, it passed through a thick layer of island clouds, obscuring the Golden Country that was originally located in the valley.

In the minds of the Sky Island people, the Island Cloud is the earth itself, and no one wants to dig through it to see what's underneath.

And so, the misunderstanding arose between the two parties.

The Sky Islanders don't understand what the Shandians mean by the lights of Shandora and the Golden Land.

The Shandians, however, believed that the Sky Islanders were unwilling to return the Golden City and the Golden Bell.

This misunderstanding prevented Gan Faure's efforts from yielding results.

Then one day, Enel, who had eaten the Rumble-Rumble Fruit and destroyed his home island of Piccolo, suddenly appeared.

Using the power of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, he forcibly defeated the God Team led by Gan Fall and the Shandians, ruling Skypiea for six years with terror.

Finally, Luffy and his crew landed on Skypiea, beginning the Skypiea arc that Kaido was familiar with.

After hearing Gan Fall's story, the Beast Pirates immediately felt contempt for the Skypiea people.

"Despicable invaders!"

Although pirates are not exactly good people, at least they admit that they are villains.

In contrast, the Sky Islanders.

Aside from Gan Fall, the others repeatedly emphasized during Gan Fall's account that Jaya Island was a gift from heaven and that they were not wrong to seize it back then.

Many people even angrily denounced Gan Fall as a traitor and called for his execution.

"Hmm, I understand the general situation now."

Kaido beckoned two pirates to untie Varu, the leader of the Shandians, and Laro, the current Skypiea God.

I'll give you a chance!

"If you can leave a wound on me, I will let all of you go home safely!"

"If you can't do it!"

"Whether it's your Sky Island or this Jaya Island, they will all become my territory!"

“If you are unwilling to leave your homes, then you will all become my subjects!”

"Hmm, do you understand?"

Laro and Valu's expressions darkened.

"Is it enough to just leave wounds on you?"

"Hmph, and I'll stand still and not put up any resistance!"

"Insanity!"

"madman!"

Laro and Valu each retrieved their weapons: a knight's lance and a rocket launcher.

Both of these pieces of equipment can be described as powerful tools for breaking through defenses.

However, the pirates around them merely watched them with cold smiles.

"Captain Kaido is invincible!"

"If you want to hurt Captain Kaido, you'll have to train for another 200 years!"

"Hehehehe..."

Ignoring the pirates' mockery, Laro and Waru launched the first attack.

A rocket successfully hit Kaido.

With a loud bang, thick smoke billowed into the air.

Kaido waved his hand, and the thick smoke dissipated completely.

Apart from a large hole being blown in his upper body clothing, he was completely unharmed.

"How is this possible?!"

Walu's eyes widened in disbelief. How could even a rocket not harm Kaido's physique?!

Just then, Laro charged forward with his spear, thrusting it straight at Kaido's skin through a tear in his clothes.

The spear tip, wielding all its might, slightly dented Kaido's skin, but it didn't actually pierce through it.

Laro's eyes widened, and he stood still, exerting his strength a second time.

But the spear tip just couldn't pierce Kaido's skin.

"Hmm, are you willing to accept the consequences of your bet?"

Laro took another look at Kaido's unscathed skin with his pistol.

Then, he scanned the large group of ferocious-looking Beast Pirates around him.

He knew very well that he would be killed if he did not choose to surrender.

The entire divine team here will be slaughtered.

The final result will not change.

Skypiea will still be brought under Kaido's rule.

Because this is how they treated the Shandians more than 370 years ago.

With this in mind, Laro was already considering surrendering, but he still wanted to try to gain more benefits.

"How do you plan to rule us?"

"Oh, that's none of your concern!"

Kaido shut down all of Lalo's nonsense with a single sentence, then turned to look at Waru.

"So? You're not choosing to surrender?"

"If you surrender, I promise to return the Golden City and the Golden Bell to you!"

"But if you don't surrender, all of you here will die!"

"The warriors present are the last elite of your Shandian race, aren't they?"
