Chapter 463 - 465: Super Mom’s Successful Finale (Part 6)
The other guests had not yet all arrived, so Naomi Kenway and Chelsea Raines were called away for their interviews.
Naomi Kenway sat on a stool with a backdrop behind her and a camera set up in front.
"Hello, Ms. Kenway. Our journey is about to come to an end. Looking back on the whole experience, do you have any thoughts or anything you’ve gained?"
Naomi Kenway considered the question carefully. A smile touched her lips as a thought came to her. "I feel like I’ve gained so much from this show. I’m very grateful to the production team. I’m usually so busy with work, so getting the chance to travel with my son has been a rare treat. Ian and I have shared so many wonderful times, and we’ve taken lots of pictures to capture those beautiful moments. Those photos are incredibly precious to us."
The interviewer smiled. "Thank you for such high praise for our show, Ms. Kenway. Which episode would you say left the deepest impression on you?"
Naomi Kenway hesitated for a moment before smiling. "That’s a bit of a tough question for me. Every episode brought a different feeling. Getting to experience the local culture in so many places with my son and see so much beautiful scenery... every single episode left a very deep impression on me."
The interviewer chuckled. "It is a difficult question to answer. Well, here’s the last one: Do you have any suggestions for our show? Were there any areas where you felt we fell short?"
"To be honest, your production team did a pretty good job. But if I really had to give one piece of advice..." Naomi Kenway tilted her head and smiled. "Do your homework and vet your guests more carefully before casting them."
The interviewer instantly knew she was talking about Renee Jennings and Jeanette Kensington. The production team had really dropped the ball when it came to casting. After getting rid of Renee Jennings, they brought in Jeanette Kensington, which forced them to cut a lot of content from the show.
"Thank you for the suggestion, Ms. Kenway. We’ll definitely take it into serious consideration."
[SOB SOB SOB It’s ending so soon.]
[You can tell Nina really enjoyed being on the show. The production team set a lot of traps, but Nina and Ian always managed to live well and with style. For them, this really was a meaningful journey to experience life.]
[That last line was spot on. The production team should take notes, this will be on the test!]
...
Meanwhile, Chelsea Raines was also being interviewed.
"Ms. Raines, after so many episodes on our show, what’s your biggest takeaway?"
"My biggest takeaway..." Chelsea Raines’s lips twitched as a memory surfaced. "Your show is just so... refreshingly unconventional. There’s really no script. I never knew what was going to happen before each episode. I still remember digging up potatoes in high heels during the first episode. I almost fell flat on my face."
"Haha, keeping things under wraps is a crucial part of our show."
"But I should give you some credit where it’s due. The show wasn’t for nothing. Jared Woods has changed quite a bit. He’s not as spoiled since we got back home. He even helps me peel an orange once in a while. That’s a result of the show’s trials."
"Okay, one more question. For you, which episode’s filming was the most memorable?"
"Hmm... Episode Five, I think. When we went to the mountains to see those kids. It sometimes made me think of my own past. That left a really deep impression on me."
"Last question. Do you have any suggestions for the future of our show?"
"I think you could maybe lower the difficulty a little. Some of the challenges were really grueling. But then again, this is the last episode, and you’ll have new guests next season. So on second thought, my advice is: make it as hard as possible! Really lean into your show’s special brand of chaos. You could set up a cockroach room or a rat room to scare the new guests. I know what your team is capable of—I’m sure you can arrange even weirder things. When you do, I’ll be sure to tune in and boost your ratings!"
The interviewer shivered. "I get the feeling Ms. Raines holds a very deep grudge against our show."
[LMAO I’m dying. You can really feel Chelsea Raines’s spite.]
[This show is as effective as a teen reform program. Jared Woods really has changed a lot.]
[Jared Woods is spoiled, but he’s not a bad kid. He needs guidance from his parents, but they didn’t provide it, so the show guided him instead.]
...
In another room, Ian was also being interviewed. He sat up perfectly straight, his big eyes blinking at the camera. Someone had stuck a lollipop in his hand, and his two chubby, pale legs dangled back and forth.
"Ian, long time no see. The last interview was a few months ago, if I remember correctly."
Ian thought back carefully, then nodded. "Yes."
"What was the biggest thing you gained from being on our show, Ian?"
"Um... gained..." He tilted his head, thinking, then broke into a brilliant smile. "Getting to travel with Mommy! Ian is really happy!"
"Okay, second question. If there was a chance for our show to continue, where would you want to travel?"
"...As long as I can be with Mommy, Ian likes anywhere."
"Haha, okay! Last question. What is the one thing you want to say to your mom the most?"
Ian’s answer was unusually quick this time. "Mommy, Ian really, really loves you! Mommy is the best mommy in the whole world!"
[Nina and Ian’s answers are so similar. It’s like they’re both saying that as long as they have each other, any trip is the perfect experience.]
[Ian is his mom’s little comfort blanket, confirmed, hahaha.]
[So soft and cute and well-behaved! Let Auntie give you a smooch!]
Jared Woods was interviewed next. He was already eagerly tearing the wrapper off a lollipop and licking it.
"Jared, did you hear my question just now?"
Jared Woods looked up, pausing with the lollipop in his mouth. "I didn’t hear you. Could you say it again, sir?"
"No problem. I’ll ask again. After all these episodes, what are your thoughts on the show, Jared?"
Jared Woods’s voice was muffled by the lollipop in his mouth. "Your show is tiring. We had to climb mountains and farm, and you took away our game consoles and snacks. Jared doesn’t like it."
The interviewer couldn’t help but laugh. "Second question: if you had to name one good thing about the show, what would it be?"
Jared Woods thought for a moment, and his eyes lit up. "Aunt Kenway is a great cook! Way better than my mom and the chef we have at home! Can you guys help me hire Aunt Kenway to cook at my house?"
The interviewer smiled. "I’m afraid that might be a bit difficult. Ms. Kenway’s appearance fee is very expensive."
"How expensive? My family has a lot of money! Just name a price. Is a suitcase full of cash enough? I have a lot of allowance money! I can give it all to Aunt Kenway!"
"You’ll have to ask Ms. Kenway about that."
