Chapter 136 Analysis
Chapter 136 Analysis
"Wait, can you say that again?"
Ron gaped at Harry.
Arthur had pitched his tent, and was busy experimenting with the matches.
Charlie and Bill are at their father's side, discussing possible Irish tactics.
Percy ran outside the tent, trying to follow old Barty in the hopes of having a chance to make an impression.
Fred and George were busy calculating whether the winnings from the bet with Bagman would be enough to fund their "plan".
The remaining four people were sitting on the hammock, resting and chatting.
“This is the fifth time.”
Harry grumbled reluctantly, trying his best to suppress his guilty feelings.
"To put it simply, when we encountered Dementors during the Quidditch match last year, didn't Malfoy rush to save me?"
"But you saved her from Buckbeak, too. That makes us even."
“I thought so too.”
"But she didn't know when she realized that I was standing between her and Buckbeak."
"Actually, it was to sabotage her plan to get rid of Hagrid..."
Ron only remembered after Harry reminded him.
Harry helped Draco fend off Buckbeak, which caused rumors to spread around the school that the two were rivals in name only, but actually dating each other secretly.
Fortunately, another rumor Hermione had spun had a more inflammatory effect after being promoted vigorously by Fred and George:
Draco deliberately provoked Buckbeak, hoping to use the attack to drive away Hagrid, who was always unpopular among Slytherin students.
Harry saw through her trick and then interfered and destroyed the plan.
Harry's competitive relationship with Draco and his friendship with Hagrid led many people to believe this statement.
In addition, the Malfoy family insisted on appealing, which led to Buckbeak being sentenced to death, greatly strengthening the credibility of the rumors.
Even Ron is no exception.
"So what does she want now?"
Ron rolled his eyes.
In the second year, Draco called Hermione "Muggle-born" in public.
He was even more certain that Draco, who had helped him during the first year, was just an exceptional act in times of crisis.
The Malfoys are the Malfoys after all. Although they are not bad people, they are not good people either.
"She wants me to return the favor."
"She said that I should invite her to sit next to me in the carriage in front of everyone."
"And she said if I didn't do that, she would get to the bottom of Buckbeak's business—"
"The Malfoys will always find a way to track the winged beasts."
Harry spoke with a conflicted look on his face, even slightly imitating Draco's tone.
He looked around, moved closer to Ron, and lowered his voice.
"I was afraid that if I wasn't careful, Sirius might be involved, so I agreed."
Seeing Harry's sad expression, Ron sighed and spoke helplessly despite sharing the same hatred.
"How on earth did you offend this plague god?"
"Weren't you there when I messed with her? In the first-year car."
""Why...""
The two looked at each other and sighed together.
But Ron didn't know that Harry's frown was not because of Draco.
Instead, he tried his best to avoid being exposed for lying to Ron.
-
"Wait, then you can't watch the game with us?"
"Yes. Or do you want me to invite her to sit with us?"
"No! Please! Take her as far away from me as possible."
"You are such a dog friend."
Harry complained to Ron angrily, but his heart was beating very fast.
He had never thought that inviting Draco to sit with him would be so easy to get away with.
Could it be that Ron had actually seen through his thoughts a long time ago and was just going along with the performance?
While he was secretly grateful to Ron, he was frightened by Ginny's question beside him.
"But why repay a favor in this way?"
"Won't this be misunderstood as her being interested in Harry?"
"Ginny! How long have you been eavesdropping?"
Ron was obviously frightened as well.
"Hermione and I have been sitting here the whole time. It was you who suddenly started talking."
"Don't you think it's odd that Malfoy is acting this way, Harry?"
Ginny's tone was calm, her increasingly pretty cheeks slightly flushed, but she forced herself to stare at Harry.
Maybe it's because we've been living together in this humble abode for nearly a month.
Although she still blushed when she saw Harry, she was no longer as shy as she was two years ago.
"She's weird to begin with, so it's normal for Harry not to understand what that girl is thinking."
Seeing Harry at a loss for words, Ron answered.
As expected, Ron is his brother.
As Harry thought about this, he kept looking at Hermione for help.
Hermione, however, just swung in the hammock, looking pointlessly dazed.
From time to time, he gave Harry a bored look, as if to say, "Figure it out yourself."
After hesitating for a while, Harry finally spoke.
Avoiding Ginny's gaze, he turned to look at Ron.
"I guess this will probably allow her to show off in front of everyone and say that Harry Potter bowed to her."
"This is something she said in first grade. Maybe now she finally has a chance to put it into practice."
Ron nodded in sudden realization, which gave Harry more confidence in this impromptu excuse.
He did not forget to add additional settings, and sang a duet with Ron in perfect harmony.
Even though Hermione still looked as if it had nothing to do with her and even snorted from time to time.
"And it can also convey to the officials of the Ministry of Magic the false impression that the Malfoy daughter is on good terms with Harry Potter."
"Yes! This shows the connections of the Malfoy family. This woman is so scheming!"
As Ron complained, Harry felt for some reason that Hermione seemed to roll her eyes a few more times.
-
"The best seats! First class! Please go straight up, Arthur, to the very top."
The colorful stadium, the pounding heartbeat, and the noise that vibrates the eardrums,
This made the group very excited on their way to the first-class carriage.
As the carriage got closer, Harry could clearly feel the sound of blood flowing in his ears, which became stronger and stronger like a war drum.
My mouth went dry as I thought that Draco might already be there.
He really had to face a group of powerful people in the magic world,
Bow to the Malfoys and ask for their permission to invite Draco to sit with them?
Thinking of Mr. Weasley's possible reaction, as well as the expressions of Fudge and the senior officials of the Ministry of Magic, my stomach felt tangled.
The carpet in the corridor came to an end, and there was a small staircase going up. There was a frosted glass door with the Ministry of Magic logo on it.
Although it is also in the stadium, this room has a different atmosphere from the other carriages.
Perhaps it is the curtain behind the door that adds a sense of mystery to the carriage.
Or perhaps, there were two wizards in dinner suits standing at the door, ready to open the partition door at any time.
Once you step in, you'll be in the first-class carriage.
Harry realized that he was not the only one swaying nervously back and forth.
Mr. Weasley, even Fred and George were a little uneasy.
Not to mention Percy, whose face was so pale that he almost vomited.
He noticed that everyone's eyes were on him, except for Mr. Weasley.
Then I remembered that I was also a celebrity in the wizarding world.
Having Harry Potter lead the way seemed to alleviate everyone's unfamiliarity with the occasion and the discomfort that came with it.
Harry swallowed and was about to step onto the steps when Mr. Weasley put his hand on his shoulder and walked forward.
"Ah! Arthur! Welcome to the first class carriage."
