Chapter 4028 MU Superbody Major Event (108)

Chapter 4028 MU: The Superbody Incident (108)

Steve and Thor from the main universe exchanged a glance, both somewhat surprised, but they did not disobey orders and instead turned to walk out of the conference room.

“Not surprising,” Steve said. “The command center’s strategy has always been very conservative. If we were to send people out to fight now, it might actually make the base’s defenses weak.”

"But if we don't attack outwards, they'll definitely push our defenses inwards. Our tactical space will become smaller and smaller. If they manage to land us, things will get complicated."

“We can only try to seize opportunities,” Steve said. “Our command system is indeed inferior to that of Batman on the other side, so we can only rely on ourselves.”

At a fork in the road ahead, the two parted ways, each returning to their respective teams. Steve donned his gear and headed to his designated patrol point to meet the other two Captain Americas.

"They're here, aren't they? I just received an urgent notification to increase patrols and be on high alert. Are they determined to storm in?"

“It’s probably Batman’s decision,” Steve said. “With the Nine Kingdoms on the front lines tense, Batman will definitely seize this opportunity.”

"Are we just going to stay here and guard it?" another Captain America asked.

"There's nothing we can do. The command center's intention is definitely to stall. Although Asgard can't return to defend, the mages and mutants can still come. Once the threat to Earth is resolved, they can return to their frontline bases, and we'll have gotten through this."

"Hopefully it goes that smoothly. And we... is that the Green Lantern Fleet?"

The universe was pitch black, with only the base emitting scattered points of light. Therefore, certain colors stood out conspicuously. The green light energy always appeared exceptionally vibrant, and as they formed a fleet and drew closer, it was like green branches suddenly emerging from an abyss, carrying an eerie vitality with no foothold.

“…Something’s not right,” Steve said.

“Hello? Hello?” Natasha’s voice came through Steve’s earpiece. “Steve, are you there? According to witnesses, Batman may have sent more than just the Green Lantern Fleet.”

“I think I’ve already seen it,” Steve said. “Is that spaceship from Apokolips?”

“It’s a troop transport,” Natasha said. “We retrieved the surveillance equipment that we had previously placed on an asteroid near Apokolips. Technicians analyzed the structure of the patrol ships sent by Apokolips and deduced that their unusually large cabins were likely used to store Parademons.”

"Parademons?"

"One of Darkseid's trump cards. There are countless alien creatures in Apokolips that he has modified. They are half-carbon, half-machine beings, not individually strong, but their numbers are enormous. You must be careful."

Steve knew the Black Widows had probably gone to gather information. Of course, there wasn't much information to gather in this universe, but they could dig for more clues in the Battle Realm.

Returning to the Battle Realm now means being eliminated, but the Battle Realm's communication system is still usable. There are always universes that didn't participate in the battle willing to sell intelligence, and the Black Widows can obtain enough information about the other side from them.

"Prepare for battle!" Steve shouted, raising his shield. He knew that what they were about to face was not just Green Lanterns, but a massive army of Parademon.

Once they were within sight, the others naturally realized that it wasn't just Green Lantern arriving; the troop transports following behind were the key. Since no one had ever witnessed Darkseid unleash Parademons, no one knew how many troops those transports could carry, and thus, they were all somewhat uneasy.

But at that moment, some more familiar equipment arrived. Most of the mechanical defenses that had been deployed at the human outposts were withdrawn and redeployed in front of the Asgardian base.

Stark in the central universe has stopped pretending and, in addition to the stock he had previously stored in the Andromeda Galaxy, he has started to take out new things.

"What is this?" asked the Iron Man from the main universe, standing around a massive suit of armor.

“Anti-Green Lantern Armor,” Stark replied without looking up. He was testing another suit of armor, slightly smaller and more feminine in shape. He tapped the shell and said, “This is the Anti-Wonder Woman Armor.”

"You've been prepared?"

"Is this considered early?" Stark said irritably. "Shouldn't preparations have begun before the Battle Realm officially opens?"

The main universe's Iron Man was somewhat speechless. He said, "Do you think I don't want to prepare? Where do you get so much free time?"

“I have nothing to do every day,” Stark said. “Obadiah and Pepper run the corporation, Nick Fury organizes the Avengers, and the Glorious Alliance only works three days a year. If I didn’t have to submit that damn psychological evaluation report, I would have even more free time.”

"Neither Congress nor the military cares about you?"

“Ha, they have a lot to worry about,” Stark said with a sneer. “The Sanctum Sanctorum’s tax evasion, the resurrection of the former Soviet Union, environmental issues at magic schools, the Omega Babies’ destruction of the world… The funerals of two congressmen who died from overwork had just ended before the fighting started.”

The main universe's Iron Man was momentarily speechless. Regardless of whether Iron Man was a good thing or not, if Iron Man, with his vast arsenal of dangerous mechs, wasn't considered Earth's number one threat, and there were other problems giving Congress and the military headaches, then this didn't seem so good after all.

But thinking about it, it makes sense. When his Ultron universe ran into trouble, he had a rare period of peace and quiet. So, he should actually be hoping for more chaos on Earth, so he could have more room to grow?

The main universe's Iron Man shook his head, dismissing these absurd thoughts. He looked at the massive mech in front of him and said, "How am I supposed to fight Green Lantern with this thing?"

“I got some Yellow Lantern Energy and traded it to a kid for a super cool mechanical transforming slide,” Stark said while adjusting the mech. “Although this mech can’t produce Yellow Lantern Energy, with my adjustments, it can reuse the Yellow Lantern Energy it has without any dissipation. It can last a long time, enough to beat up Green Lantern.”

"Is Green Lantern afraid of Yellow Lantern energy?"

“Most of them are afraid,” Stark said. “I discovered this by chance. Once they encounter yellow light energy, they will lose all their power at best, and at worst, they will be so terrified that they cannot move at all.”

"What about this anti-Wonder Woman armor?"

"This doesn't require any special power. Robots are naturally a counter to Wonder Woman because they would render her lasso ineffective. This suit is a symbiotic armor; once bound, it can use the properties of the symbiote to transform and break free."

The main universe's Iron Man nodded and said, "That sounds like it would definitely work, and it'll crush them. When do you plan to release them?"

"Don't rush, they might not be prepared for this, so it's best to catch them off guard."

The main universe's Iron Man opened his mouth, looking somewhat anxious, waved his arm in the air, and then said, "You know what happened with Stephen's unauthorized actions?"

“That’s Doctor Strange from your universe, he has nothing to do with the Stephen I know. He’s busy fighting Daedalus,” Stark said. Although he and Strange usually didn’t give an inch, he still stood up for Stark when it mattered.

"Okay, that has a big impact on the reputation of our universe."

"So, what do you want to say?"

"If possible, I can deploy these armors. After all, going deep behind enemy lines is dangerous. If I succeed, I might be able to salvage the reputation of our universe."

“No way,” Stark said.

“Okay,” the main universe Iron Man sighed, “you made it, so you should be the one to place it. Just pretend I didn’t say anything.”

“I’m not doing this to show off,” Stark said. “To catch them off guard, we can’t let them recognize that this is my creation. We need to disguise it as some other mechanical construct, send it into their ranks, and then launch a surprise attack.”

"A sneak attack?!" the main universe's Iron Man said, somewhat puzzled. "Why resort to a sneak attack when you clearly have the ability to fight head-on?"

“This is war. As long as we achieve good enough results, I don’t care if it’s honorable or not,” Stark said, slamming the wrench on the table. “A weapon is a weapon, and its purpose is to kill the enemy to the greatest extent possible. Have you been a superhero for too long and forgotten how to be an arms dealer?”

The main universe's Iron Man was speechless, glaring at Stark and saying, "You haven't forgotten, have you? You're not ashamed, you're proud of it."

"Of course, if one day I can sell Earth's weapons all over the universe, and all the wars in interstellar society start because of me, the Supreme Intelligence will pave the red carpet, the Skrull Emperor will shine my shoes, and the Queen of Shi'ar will have to respectfully call me 'Mr. Richest Man', then who will dare to say that selling weapons is bad?"

The Iron Man of the main universe sighed deeply. He realized that the Iron Man of this universe was rich, powerful, and had a happy family, but he had no moral bottom line.

"Are you sure Iron Man will show up?" Green Lantern from the main universe asked Hal. "They should know that their physical condition is just that of an ordinary person, so they might not be in such a hurry to go to the battlefield, right?"

“I don’t know about the others, but the main universe over there must be very anxious,” Hal said. “After all, the Doctor Strange in that main universe is too outrageous. If they don’t gain some merit, they will be squeezed out by the other universes.”

"I'm not afraid of their ambition, I'm afraid of their timidity. As long as they dare to come, we will definitely take them down," Green Lantern of the main universe nodded and said.

“Remember the tactics we worked out before?” Wonder Woman from the main universe asked. “Many Iron Men like to show off their skills, and they’re eager to make a name for themselves right now. If we guide them, they might rush ahead. It would be great if we could capture one or two.”

"They won't work for us even if we're captured. Just like the Guardians of the Galaxy, what's the point of keeping them in jail to eat for free?"

“That’s different. These are members of the Avengers. Once we capture them, the enemy will have no choice but to fight. If we choose not to rescue them or just stall for time, our morale will be completely destroyed.”

“Let’s push harder,” Hal said. “They’ve released the robots. Should we send out a wave of Parademons to test the waters?”

“I’ll go set sail,” said the Green Lantern from the main universe. “Let’s send one ship over to test the waters. Iron Man definitely has some good stuff up his sleeve. It’s best to force them to reveal their hand first.”

The massive troop transport slowly approached the mechanical defenses, not slowing down at all as it neared the turrets, and rammed straight into them. The countless mechanical turrets showed no mercy, unleashing a hail of lasers and a barrage of explosions. The flimsy troop transport was destroyed instantly, but from within it exploded numerous safe zones containing Parademons.

With a "whoosh," all the release commands for the safe pods were activated, and countless pairs of cold, cruel eyes gradually lit up. Ahead, illuminated by the lights of the mechanical defenses, stretched out like a dark cloud—an army of countless Parademons.
