Chapter 3818 The School Doctor's "Daily Life" (Thirty-Three)
Schiller's next plan was, of course, to kidnap them, then have Night Owl inform the Sorcerer Supreme, lure Strange here to fight him, and then pretend to be injured, making Night Owl help him find herbs to heal his wounds, thus stalling him for longer.
Although he can't communicate with the main universe's Batman right now, not even with eye contact, he instinctively feels that the main universe's Batman should understand him.
Schiller opened his mouth to speak, when a voice suddenly came from behind him: "What's going on? What are you all doing here?"
Several Batmen looked in the direction of the sound, and a small black shadow flew over.
"Good heavens, you have no idea how chaotic that bird's nest was. He and his wife had four babies in one go, and I was almost crushed to death by them. If I hadn't run fast enough, they would have stuffed bugs into my mouth..."
It was a LEGO Batman! The main universe Batman felt slightly relieved. He had no intention of harming the LEGO Batman, so he had only brought an ordinary bald eagle. Aside from the fact that the LEGO Batman was made of plastic, the eagle probably couldn't eat it; the LEGO Batman possessed magic, so aside from a momentary panic, a spell would easily dispel it, leaving him unharmed.
But he came at the worst possible time. The main universe's Batman was still eager to see how Schiller would act.
Just as he thought of this, Schiller pointed, and the Lego Batman fell to the ground with a "thud." The main universe Batman walked over and picked it up, only to find that its eyes had turned into an "X" and its tongue was sticking out; it appeared to have passed out.
The main universe Batman breathed a sigh of relief: thankfully Schiller reacted quickly. If the Lego Batman had said a few more words, the atmosphere would have been ruined.
Schiller opened his mouth again to say his lines, but then he saw a familiar figure on Batman and the others' way. Bruce was flying over, flapping his wings.
"What are you doing here?" Bruce stopped in mid-air, glanced at Batman below, and then looked at Schiller.
Fortunately, Bruce's psychoanalysis wasn't very good, and he didn't have mind-reading abilities, while Schiller had the Gray Fog, so Bruce couldn't see through his identity.
"Who are you?" Bruce asked, somewhat surprised.
“Go find the Sorcerer Supreme,” the main universe Batman said. “Go quickly, Bruce, you’re probably no match for him.”
Schiller, his eyes wide under the hood, stared at the main universe's Batman: "Are you afraid he won't come and beat me up?!"
"I'm no match for him?! Let me see what's going on!" Bruce rolled up his sleeves and went for it.
Schiller wasn't careless either. Bruce was, after all, an angel, and he hadn't forgotten his current persona: he couldn't use fog-related effects, but should use ash instead. Fortunately, ash itself was highly variable, and any kind of effect could be created.
Bruce punched Schiller, only to realize upon contact that it was just a charred, blurry shadow. A cloud of ash drifted by, carrying with it a strong, acrid smell of burning.
Countless scattered ashes coalesced into a human form once more, and Schiller appeared behind Bruce, extending a hand. Everyone heard him mutter something under his breath. Instantly, numerous black and red portal-like objects appeared in mid-air, and demonic hands wreathed in flames reached out from the oval shapes, grabbing towards Bruce.
A holy light flashed on Bruce's body, then flashed again, then flashed once more.
"What's going on? Why aren't these hellish things afraid of the Holy Light?" Bruce frowned.
Schiller thought to himself: Of course I'm not afraid, because this isn't from hell at all, and in their universe there's no rule like having to fear heaven just because you're from hell. Mephisto wasn't afraid of angels either; at most, he just found them troublesome and didn't want to have much contact with them.
Bruce drew a sword with holy light, and with a few rounds of crescent slashes, he severed all of Hell's arms. Then he held the sword upright in front of him. Increasingly dense holy light began to emanate from his body.
On the surface, he appeared to be charging up his ultimate attack, but in reality, he was using holy light to call for reinforcements: "Lucifer! Lucifer, come quick! There's a tricky situation in the Magic Forest!!!"
That's right, Bruce can still use Holy Light in another world, not because the power systems of the two universes are connected—in fact, they are not connected. Even if they share the same God, Holy Light is not the same thing.
He was able to use Holy Light only because Lucifer was also present. Lucifer was like a giant power bank for him; the Holy Light on his body was summoned from Lucifer.
Schiller knew Bruce all too well; looking at him like that, how could he not know what he was up to?
This disguise might fool Bruce, but it won't fool Lucifer. Lucifer might know they're making a movie, but he doesn't know the plot. If Lucifer were to call out his real name right away, everything would be over.
No, we need to find a way to shift the blame.
Schiller didn't stand on ceremony. Flames suddenly erupted from his body, igniting the surrounding air. A massive magic circle made of ash appeared beneath his feet, and he began to chant.
Although he looked handsome on the outside, he was actually on the phone calling for backup: "Mephisto! Mephisto, come quick! It's time to show off your power as the Lord of Hell! There are several Batmen here, and Bruce is planning to bring Lucifer over for a fight. Don't you want to show off in front of your future followers? Come on over!"
Schiller also specifically reminded him: Don't use your own skin, come directly in your true form, and not in human form, but in the most terrifying and intimidating demonic form.
Lucifer and Mephisto were both a little confused when they received the call: "What's going on? What happened to the Enchanted Forest?"
But both of them rushed over. Lucifer was afraid something might go wrong—after all, he was the one who brought them here, and he couldn't let anything happen to them; Mephisto, on the other hand, had been persuaded by Schiller and was ready to show off his strength in front of Batman.
He certainly hadn't given up on recruiting Batman these past few days, but most of them were like rocks in a latrine—stinky and stubborn. He was getting really angry. Fine, you all look down on the devil, huh? Today I'll show you what the devil is all about!
Mephisto, intent on creating a major disturbance, completely disregarded the small magic circle Schiller had conjured. He directly used illusion magic to create a city ablaze: the ground of the magic forest cracked open, countless magmas erupted, almost instantly turning the ground into charred remains. A colossal demonic phantom rose upright from the fissure.
Just then, Lucifer flew over. This wasn't his territory after all, and he didn't have that much insight. Besides, illusion magic was Mephisto's specialty, and for a moment, he managed to fool Lucifer.
Holy crap, God! Jesus, Adam, Eve's uncle?! Lucifer was stunned. Have all the demons of this universe gone mad?! Where are the angels? Aren't any of them doing anything about this?!
Schiller had already slipped away while Mephisto was casting his illusion. The Batmen were a step too slow and couldn't escape, so they could only hide behind a tree.
Mephisto was eager to show off, and without even looking at who it was, it went up and swung its claw.
Lucifer was even more shocked: In thousands of years, this was the first person outside of Michael who dared to fight him!
Lucifer wasn't without temper either. He instantly spread his wings, the Morning Star Archangel skin was ready, and the highest win rate rune for the Fallen Angels War was configured—Let's fight!
By the time Strange arrived at the scene, the situation was already getting out of control. Both of them were fighting with all their might, their divine and hellish powers turning half the sky red.
"I knew building the school next to Boston was a mistake!!!" Strange roared in exasperation, "What are you doing! Stop hitting me!"
In fact, if he had studied with the Ancient One for a couple more days, he would have understood that in this situation, shouting was useless; all he had to do was raise his fist and beat both sides up.
Unfortunately, he went astray from the start, failing to learn any of the Ancient One's signature skills. His shout resulted in a claw attack from Mephisto and a sword strike from Lucifer.
Lucifer and Mephisto fought a back-and-forth battle, a clash of titans. While Lucifer was powerful in his world, it was mainly due to his high authority; here, although he could still use Holy Light, the loss of that authority significantly weakened his strength. Mephisto, though not of such a high level, was still the local power behind the Hell dimension, and for a time, the two were evenly matched.
It was director Chris who finally stopped them.
Upon discovering the commotion in the Enchanted Forest, Director Chris rushed to its edge. Unable to discern the illusion magic, he assumed the forest was truly destroyed and shouted, "Props team! Props team! Come quick!! Protect the props!!"
His shout snapped Mephisto out of his daze. Indeed, if the fighting continued and the props in the Enchanted Forest were damaged, the movie wouldn't be able to be released on schedule, and his plan to gain more followers would be indefinitely postponed.
He quickly withdrew his strength, but still took a few blows from Lucifer. Lucifer also came to his senses and quickly checked himself to see if he was injured.
Both of them saw Strange's elongated face at the same time.
“Ahem, I can explain,” Mephisto said.
Lucifer was about to speak when he turned his head and saw a face exactly like Schiller's. The damage from this attack was far greater than what he had suffered during his long fight with Mephisto; the mighty Lucifer Morningstar had nearly choked to death on the spot.
"you you you you you……"
Mephisto suddenly remembered that he didn't seem to have ever seen Lucifer in this form before, but he was incredibly accurate at judging people. After staring at Lucifer for a while, he said, "What's going on? You and Schiller..."
Mephisto's face was full of "I don't understand but I'm shocked." He exclaimed in astonishment, "Your friend isn't your current friend, but they share the same face. Isn't this what people call stand-in literature?!"
Lucifer drew his sword and slashed.
It took almost the entire cast of high-ranking monks to separate the two. Fortunately, they both restrained themselves and only damaged a small area. However, repairs will take some time, further delaying filming.
Chris wasn't too angry. He arrived exceptionally quickly, just in time for the second half of the game. Taking advantage of a lull in Strange's tirade against Mephisto, he nimbly slipped through the crowd like an eel, stood before Lucifer, shook his hand, and looked at him with warm eyes, saying, "Hello, Mr. Angel, may I have a few minutes of your time?"
"Uh, what are you doing?"
"May I ask your surname?"
"Lucifer Morning Star".
Chris gasped.
Then Lucifer watched as the human director grabbed his hands and shook them vigorously, looking at him with fervent enthusiasm, and said in a familiar tone, "May I ask, Your Excellency, are you willing to participate in World War II?!"
