Chapter 3674 Evil Force (2)
Chapter 3674 Evil Force (2)
Chapter 3674 Evil Power (XII)
"Dr. Schiller! It's Dr. Schiller!!!" Many people began to cheer. Looking at the figure that appeared in the camera, many film critics also smiled knowingly.
"No wonder he hasn't been accepting media interviews recently, it turns out he's filming a new movie." Someone shook his head and said, "That's what I was saying. When I followed his personal account before, he seemed quite kind, not the kind of person who plays big shots. If he's keeping it a secret for the sake of the movie, it makes sense."
"But he's really amazing." The person next to him said, "So many media and paparazzi stayed in the sanatorium for half a month, but they didn't realize they were filming a movie."
"You don't understand. They're shooting a pseudo-documentary. Didn't you see that most of the shots were shot with a camera hanging from their necks? Without a crew, you can't tell it's a movie."
"I feel like this isn't entirely a pseudo-documentary. The editing in between includes a lot of monologues and explanations of certain things in the past. It's a kind of fusion pseudo-documentary. It feels pretty good."
"You know what? This movie reminds me of James Wan's Insidious series, and Sinister. They are all very classic indoor horror movies. There are not too many scary scenes, but they are just creepy."
"Have you noticed? This doctor is much kinder than he was in Ilvermorny. Is he trying to change the audience's impression of him? But this is a horror movie!"
The audience in the front row kept talking about it. The Avengers members sitting next to them were not idle either. Natasha crossed the back of her chair, gave Schiller a thumbs up and said, "I thought you didn't like acting, but I didn't expect you to act in two movies at once. What are you going to promote for this movie?"
"You'll know if you read on," Schiller said with a smile.
"Right." Eddie propped himself up on the ground and spun his swivel chair around, pointing to a spot on the screen. He looked at Schiller next to him and said, "You said you wanted to lay some foreshadowing here, but you only gave me a bunch of footage of the police investigating a case. How do you want me to cut it?"
"Of course, we spliced the footage together," Schiller said. "First, we shot the construction team, then cut to a shot of a police car driving into the community, and then use this shot of a bunch of police surrounding a house, and then cut to the content of the newspaper."
"Are you trying to imply that something's wrong in that house?"
"That's right. But in fact, it didn't happen at all. Mephisto is not so bold as to steal the souls of ordinary people under the nose of the Supreme Sorcerer. So he didn't commit any tragedy. But in order to create an atmosphere, we can only use modern journalism techniques to slightly wrongly accuse him."
"This isn't journalism, at least not mine." Eddie rolled his eyes, but did as he was told and pieced together a bunch of material to create a plot in which a tragedy occurred in a house and the police came to investigate.
"Oh my god, the lens on this newspaper is not good." Eddie said again, "You can't even focus it, you can't see the words clearly. You really should learn photography."
"I can't help it. I'm an amateur, and this was just a sudden inspiration." Schiller shrugged and said, "Luckily I brought the original newspaper here. Can you take a picture for me?"
Eddie took the newspaper from him, walked to the table next to him and set up the camera. The camera was aimed at the front page of the newspaper, which read the headline that Schiller had made up:
"Today, the number of missing persons has reached 23, and the number of deaths has increased by two. The police have completely blocked the community. Please do not go out at night and protect your own safety."
Danny put down the newspaper, took another bite of his sandwich, then moved a stool and sat next to Schiller, who was looking up information on the computer, and asked, "Did you find anything?"
"There's nothing special about the director of the sanatorium, Dr. Rodriguez. His identity and education information are public. He's even a celebrity on the Internet and is friends with superheroes. He's probably not a cultist or anything like that. But this sanatorium..."
"What happened to the nursing home?" Danny asked curiously.
"Just recently, the sanatorium was renovated. Most of the building remained unchanged, but the civil engineering and soft furnishings were all renovated. Don't you think this is a bit too coincidental?"
Danny thought for a moment and said, "Do you think the evil forces rampaging here may be related to the renovation of the nursing home?"
"If Mephisto wants to return to the human world, there must be an entrance. He will need his believers to summon him. And to perform the summoning ceremony, a venue is naturally needed. This is the Google map of the sanatorium before and after the renovation that I found. Can you see the difference?"
Danny looked at the screen. On the left and right sides of the screen were two satellite views from Google Maps. The buildings of the sanatorium were clearly visible. It could be seen that the wall color and the layout of the courtyard were different after the renovation, but the buildings were generally in the same location.
"Wait," Danny said, "something seems to be wrong here. Is this a warehouse? Why was it removed? And what is this yellow thing?"
"It was indeed a warehouse." Schiller nodded and said, "But in the renovated sanatorium, the warehouse was removed and a sand pit was added. Don't you think it's strange? Why put a sand pit in the sanatorium?"
Danny thought for a moment and said, "It's really strange. There are no children or long jumpers here. What's the point of building a sand pit? It's worse than the original warehouse."
"That's probably where the problem lies," Schiller said. "What can a bunker do?"
"There's sand in the sand pit." After saying that, Danny looked a little embarrassed. He scratched his head, then shook it again, obviously unable to figure out what the sand pit had to do with the devil.
"Sand is soft and can be dug," Schiller said. "If you want to find an entrance to a hidden basement, this is a good choice. At least it's more hidden than a cellar door, right?"
Danny suddenly realized. Schiller continued, "Johnny said there might be some carrier of Mephisto's power in the sanatorium. If it's an object, it's fine. But if it's a person, he might be watching us right now. We can't act rashly."
"It doesn't matter. There will be a power outage tonight. We can go dig in the sand pit later. If there is really an entrance, it shouldn't be buried very deep. We can go down and find out. As long as we destroy the portal that Mephisto used to descend to the human world, the remaining power will not be a problem."
Schiller nodded, and then the two of them went to Johnny to discuss the plan. Johnny didn't seem to agree, but he could only nod his head because the two insisted.
When night fell, Johnny stayed in the sanatorium and watched the situation inside. Schiller and Danny left the main building of the sanatorium under the cover of night and walked towards the sand pit.
Arriving near the sand pit, Schiller squatted down and grabbed a handful of sand, then said, "Something seems wrong. It hasn't rained in the past few days, and the temperature has been rising. The surface of the sand shouldn't be so wet. Unless..."
"Unless someone has recently rummaged through it." Danny also thought of this. He took a deep breath, clenched the cross in his hand, and once again sensed the connection with the Spirit of Vengeance, and then said, "Maybe he is in there now. We have to go down and take a look. No one else can get hurt."
They picked up the shovel and started digging. The sand was loose, so it was easy to dig. After digging a few shovels, Danny used the shovel to probe down and said, "It's hard underneath. This is not right. A normal sand pit can't have only this little sand."
They dug for a while longer, and Schiller squatted down to brush off the last bit of sand, and saw a black door below.
"Sure enough. There was a cellar door in the original warehouse. After the warehouse was demolished, a sand pit was built here to cover the cellar door."
"I have a question," Danny said, "Shouldn't it be the owner of a nursing home who has the right to decide what to build in the nursing home?"
Schiller remained silent. He fumbled with the edge of the cellar door. Suddenly, with a click, the door opened a little. A strong smell of burning filled the air.
Both of them were choked and coughed as they stepped back. Danny even sat down on the ground, waving the cross in his hand to try to dispel the horrible smell.
Schiller used a shovel to pry the door open, and a cloud of ashes flew out and slowly scattered on the ground. Schiller looked inside and said, "It seems there is light. Should we go down?"
"Let's go." Danny said, holding the cross tightly. "We have to go."
Danny jumped down first, followed by Schiller. The ground below was very flat, and there was not even the strong smell of burning as at the beginning. The two walked through the dark corridor.
"Have you met Nelson?" Schiller asked.
"Who is that?"
"A patient in a sanatorium. After I sent the post about the analysis of the mastermind behind the movie, he sent me a message and told me all the strange things about the sanatorium. He said that someone here has been controlled by the devil, and the devil has started to appear in his dreams."
"Hasn't he been bewitched by the devil?"
"I don't know. The bishop told me he was special, but it's possible he was bewitched. He contacted me just to trick me into coming here."
"And the person who contacted us was Dr. Rodriguez, the owner of the sanatorium. Who do you think among them could be the carrier of the devil?"
"I don't know, Danny. It's possible that everything we see is just an appearance, a trick of the devil to deceive us. We must not let our guard down until we find the real source."
Suddenly, Schiller shrugged his nose and said, "Do you smell blood?"
Danny took a deep breath and nodded solemnly. They continued to walk inside and saw a door at the end of the corridor. There was a faint light coming out of the door, and the smell of blood was getting stronger and stronger.
The two walked to the door, and Schiller opened it a little and looked inside. A young man in a hospital gown was squatting on the ground, and in front of him was a corpse with its abdomen cut open. His hands were covered in blood, and his mouth and face were also covered in blood. He was constantly taking out the corpse's internal organs and eating them.
His movements suddenly stopped, and then he slowly turned his head.
Lights went out.
"what!!!!!"
A shrill scream sounded in the darkness. Danny tightly grasped the cross, totally at a loss. Suddenly, a flashing stick was thrown out, just illuminating a hideous face covered in blood.
Danny was thrown to the ground, and the young man bit his arm. Danny screamed in pain, but he tried his best to flip the young man over. Schiller also came over and just as he was about to grab the young man's arm, he was knocked away by an unknown force.
Danny quickly got up and hit the young man on the back with the cross, but it did not cause any damage. Danny wanted to call on the spirit of vengeance, but the spirit of vengeance did not move.
The two had no choice but to wrestle with each other. But the other party was very strong and he fell to the ground in a few seconds. The blood-stained face looked like a devil in the darkness.
As Danny was panting and trying to back away, he heard a "bang". The young man in front of him, who looked like a demon, fell down. In the dim light of the flashlight, Danny saw the face of Dr. Rodriguez, the owner of the sanatorium.
Here we go!
