Chapter 2325 Gotham Music Chapter (64)
Chapter 2325 Gotham Music Festival (Sixty-four)
Batman walked quickly through the corridor of Wayne Manor, straightened his newly tied tie, walked down the stairs and smiled at Alfred, who led him to the door.
"I'm so sorry, Afu, I was invited but I can't attend the whole festival..."
"Don't be sorry, sir. You have business to do. If you don't mind, could you tell me what trouble you are in?"
Batman pursed his lips and looked serious. He said, "My friend Rachel works at the Gotham City District Attorney's Office. When she was sorting out the prosecution materials, she accidentally discovered that the Gotham gangs were conducting a large-scale drug deal with a super criminal codenamed Scarecrow."
"I see, but with all due respect, this is very common in Gotham City," Alfred said.
"Yes, drug dealing is common here, but this time is different. In addition to the unusually large amount of drugs they are dealing, Rachel noticed that an unusual group tried to interfere with this transaction. I'm afraid they are my fans."
Alfred suddenly realized, and Batman was worried. He said, "The gangster boss Faconi has been infiltrating the upper echelons of Gotham, which makes Rachel helpless against many vicious criminals. Some time ago, many people died in a large-scale bank robbery on Central Street. The people were panicked. Rachel and Harvey both believed that this was the masterpiece of another super criminal."
The two of them had already walked to the door, and Bruce was standing on the side of the road waiting for him. When Batman walked over, he found that there was a huge van parked behind Bruce.
"What is this?" asked Beibat.
Before he could take a closer look at the truck, something soft was stuffed into his arms. He looked down and saw Elsa grinning at him.
Beibat touched Aisha's head and smiled at her, then continued to look up at Bruce. Bruce pointed at the truck and said, "These are some small gadgets that Aisha uses in her daily life. The transmission channel does not limit the size, so you can take them back with you."
"Gadget." Bat repeated the word. He walked around to the door of the carriage, stuck his head out to take a look, then retracted his head and looked at Bruce with wide eyes.
"I understand everything else, but what's with that children's slide at the very back?"
"That's her toy."
"But there's no need to bring it. I can buy her one..."
"One may not be enough, and she only likes the taste of this one."
"Then how much...taste???"
Beibat looked down at Aisha again, and Aisha gave him another bright smile, with her shark-like fangs flashing a cold light.
Beibat stopped asking immediately.
"What trouble are you in? Why are you in such a hurry?" Bruce asked curiously, but this resulted in a lot of complaints from Batman.
"Collusion between officials and businessmen, collusion between businessmen and the law, drug trafficking, moles within the group... I really don't know when this will end." Bei Bat sighed heavily and said, "Rachel sent me a message saying that she found clues about the transaction between the gang boss Faconi and the super criminal codenamed Scarecrow, and hoped that I could go back and help her investigate."
"But we all know that even if we catch him, there is no way to bring him to court. Using mental illness to escape punishment is a common tactic they use..."
"The psychiatrist was bribed?"
"Of course, it's more than that, almost the entire legal system has been bought off."
“Then buy it back.”
Batman stared at Bruce, and Bruce said, "Spend money to buy them back."
"But this is bribery and interference with justice. I can't do anything illegal."
"You are just correcting it all, using the same method as them." Bruce looked at Bat and said, "It is precisely the money you paid that guarantees judicial justice."
Bei Bat turned his head to one side, put his hands on his hips and said, "You should understand that these people are jackals with big appetites. They will ask for too much from anyone. I can't interfere with the operation of Wayne Group because of this, and the shareholders will not agree to it."
"Then don't use Wayne Group's money, use your own."
"I don't have that much money," Bei said. "Most of it is in fixed assets, and a small part is needed to operate foundations and trusts."
"I think you can also start some business or something. Although Thomas and Martha left a lot of inheritance, there is not much liquid capital. Add to that inflation, and it's not a good idea to just sit there and eat up all the wealth."
"It's not like I haven't thought about it," said Bei Bat, "but CEO Earl vetoed all my joint investment plans and even interfered with the flow of my personal funds. He caused me a lot of trouble at the shareholders' meeting. I was busy dealing with him and had no time to invest on my own."
“Do you have any specific investment plans?”
Bat thought for a moment and said, "I have a rough idea in my mind, but it's nothing more than those few ideas. I decided to pick up some of the charities that Earl had abandoned before. I can also invest my own money in them. Even if the return is not much, saving lives is important."
Bruce shook his head and said, "This is totally unsustainable, you know."
Batboy's face was not very good. He certainly understood that when he grew up to inherit the Wayne Group, Earl had almost controlled all the shareholders. Not only did they give up all charitable activities, they also did everything that a consortium would do, such as exploiting employees, taking bribes, and manipulating elections.
After returning from the fighting world, Batman made up his mind to take back power from Earl, but his plan had not been fully completed at this time. The Wayne Group was still powerless to reform, let alone make money for itself.
This is a vicious circle. If he has no money, he will not be able to deal with this group of officials, criminals and shareholders who are in collusion with each other. But if he wants to deal with these people, he must first have money.
"The personality trait that now dominates Professor Shiller's body is a financial planning master. If you are willing to pay, he can give you a financial plan that is absolutely effective and simple to operate."
Bei Bat raised his eyebrows. He still had confidence in Schiller's ability, but he never knew that Schiller could do business. Bruce patted him on the shoulder and said, "They have different personality traits. Some are good at psychology, while others are good at economics. Do you want to try?"
Bat licked his lips, looked at Bruce and said, "How much?"
Bruce took out a business card from his pocket, put it into Bei Bat's pocket and said, "You should have the Doujie beta terminal, right? Contact this number. Maybe he doesn't necessarily want money, but believe me, paying is the cheapest."
Batman touched his suit pocket, nodded and said, "Thank you for your kindness, but I have one more question. Where are you going on this long journey? I heard that you want to send the Robins to the Batman in metal armor."
"It's not very far, but we have to go to several places." Bruce stretched and said, "The boss doesn't work hard, he just slacks off and sleeps all day, and he doesn't even know how to run when he's locked up. What can I do?"
Batgirl patted Bruce's shoulder, and they smiled at each other. Bruce stood at the door of Wayne Manor and watched Batgirl leave.
Then he turned around and shouted towards the manor hall: "Come here! Come here! Pack up and get ready to go to the concert!"
The children cheered and rushed out. Jason ran the fastest. He ran down the stairs and said, "Did you listen to the radio last night? Biggie's new song is so good! I thought he was going to release an album, but it turned out to be a new single!"
"You are wrong, 2pac's new single is the real B-version chart topper! We have to speak with results." Another voice came from the back garden, and Peter jumped in from the window with a roll of posters in his hand.
"I can't believe he's signing new songs in Gotham. Look at the new poster I grabbed! It has both of their signatures on it!"
The kids immediately came over and discovered that the poster was actually a photo of Biggie and 2pac.
"Oh my god, is the person who printed this photo going to die? I heard that they are enemies." Dick said with wide eyes, "Wait, there is a signature. Why would they sign their photo?"
"You are so uninformed." Peter looked at Dick with some disdain and said, "Don't you know that Biggie showed up at 2pac's autograph session? And he showed up as a surprise Easter egg. They reconciled."
"Yes, yes." Tim said, "I listened to the radio broadcast last night very late. Biggie said on the radio that the conflict between them was a complete misunderstanding, and I think he was implying that someone was instigating the discord."
"Oh my god!" Jason exclaimed at the explosive gossip and immediately pulled Tim to ask him to repeat what was broadcast yesterday.
"I asked you to listen yesterday but you refused." Tim pushed him away and said, "You insisted on sleeping and missed the exciting part. And you still want me to tell you? No way!"
Jason snorted and said, "If you don't tell me, I'll tell your aunt that you listen to rap!"
"God! Are you crazy? This will make her nag my dad for more than ten hours...Okay, okay, don't pick up the phone, I'm telling you."
They were chattering around the fireplace. Alfred walked over and turned on the TV, tuning to the Gotham local TV channel. The host's voice came from it.
"I can't believe such a big surprise would happen in this city. I've said before that Gotham has its own unique art atmosphere, no worse than any other city."
"I think you're being too modest," said one music critic. "If two top rappers have found inspiration here and can even put aside their differences to create better music, then I would say that Gotham is definitely a music city."
"Do you know anything about the past of those two rappers?" the host asked in a slightly gossipy tone.
The discussion in front of the screen also stopped, and everyone pricked up their ears to hear if people in the industry knew anything.
They saw on the TV screen that the host was white and the music critic was black. The critic turned his palm and said, "There is no doubt that Christopher's radio interview yesterday was hinting at something. Someone is trying to sow discord between them."
"Do you think he's exaggerating or has some conspiracy theories about this?"
"I don't think so." The black critic sighed and said, "You know how much the popularity of rap music has caused those gentlemen who insist on setting rules for pop music to suffer."
“This society does not want to see a music group dominated by black people with such great commercial value, because the higher the commercial value, the greater the voice.”
"I don't know if we can say this on this show. The long-standing silence of the black community has made people forget that we have tongues, even black people themselves have forgotten."
"When we found some street kids and they said they would rather sell drugs than make music, I knew that this society had spent a hundred years making an entire race believe that they were worthless, that they were inherently evil, mean, and hopeless, but that was absolutely not the case."
“If all avenues are blocked, if we are doomed to be silenced, then music will be our only salvation.”
