Siheyuan: I just came across and wanted to chase me away

There is medicine in Chapter 1109.

There is medicine in Chapter 1109.

Li Jianjun cursed inwardly, "Greedy woman," but his face was plastered with a fawning smile: "You'll get your share! If it works out, I'll double the money I promised!" He glanced out the window and saw Gu Nan walking towards the restaurant entrance. He muttered to himself about the progress on Zhang San's side—according to the plan, Zhang San should be leading his men around Gu Nan's house by now. As long as they could take photos of Gu Nan's wife alone at home, they could release them along with the "evidence" from the private room, further solidifying Gu Nan's reputation of "keeping the red flag flying at home while colorful flags flutter outside," making it impossible for him to clear his name even if he jumped into the Yellow River.

The thought of Gu Nan's disgrace and dismissal from the factory, while he himself could use this opportunity to return to the steel rolling mill, and perhaps even take Gu Nan's place, made Li Jianjun grin from ear to ear, his hand holding the cup trembling with excitement. He waved his hand and urged, "Quick, go hide in the next private room. Gu Nan will be here soon. Don't let him see you beforehand and give us away."

Lili winked and swayed her serpentine waist as she entered the next room. Before leaving, she made sure to leave the door slightly ajar, just enough to see what was happening here.

Less than two minutes later, the waiter led Gu Nan upstairs and opened the door to the private room. The moment the door opened, Gu Nan was hit with a strong, cloyingly sweet perfume scent, which, mixed with the aroma of the food on the table, was particularly pungent—clearly someone had just been there. He glanced around the room discreetly; a faint buttock mark remained on the chair by the window, and a long, black hair lay scattered beside the cups and saucers—everything was obvious.

"Deputy Factory Director Gu, we've been waiting for you!" Li Jianjun quickly stood up, his face beaming with an overly enthusiastic smile, wiping his hands on his apron. "Was there traffic on the way? I thought you weren't coming."

Gu Nan deliberately glanced at his watch, revealing a perfectly timed apologetic expression: "I'm sorry, Brother Li, something came up at home and I was delayed. It's quite far away, so even though I rushed, I'm still a little late. Please don't take offense."

"No way!" Li Jianjun pulled him towards the dining table, his tone as warm as a brother who hadn't seen each other for years. "I'm just too early. Look, I specially ordered a few hearty dishes: braised pork knuckle, stir-fried pork intestines, and braised beef. They're all great with drinks. Let's drink to our hearts' content today, and let's settle all the misunderstandings from before with the drinks!"

Gu Nan glanced at the table; sure enough, it was full of heavily oiled and flavorful dishes. Clearly, Li Jianjun had gone to great lengths for this performance. He sneered inwardly, but forced a smile: "Brother Li, you're too kind. Actually, there's no misunderstanding between us. We're both doing this for the factory's good; it's just a difference in our positions, right?"

"Yes, yes, yes! Deputy Factory Director Gu really knows how to talk!" Li Jianjun busied himself pouring wine for Gu Nan. The bottle was tilted, and the amber liquid gurgled into the glass, with delicate foam floating on the surface. "Come on, let's have one first, as an apology!"

Gu Nan picked up his wine glass, and when his fingertips touched the glass, he vaguely felt something sticky—it was indeed drugged, though the method was rather clumsy. He didn't call it out, but instead raised his glass and lightly clinked it against Li Jianjun's, producing a crisp sound. Then, just as his lips touched the rim of his glass, he tilted his head back and secretly spilled the wine onto the carpet behind him. The dark liquid was instantly absorbed by the thick carpet, leaving no trace.

Li Jianjun sat opposite him, watching everything clearly out of the corner of his eye. A hint of smugness rose in his heart, but he pretended not to see it and kept urging him to drink: "Drink more, drink more! This wine is a good wine that I asked someone to get for me. You can't buy it normally!"

In the next room, Lili peeked through the crack in the door and saw the two clinking glasses and drinking "enthusiastically." A smug, triumphant smile crept onto her lips. She touched the small medicine bottle in her pocket, her fingertips lightly tracing its surface, waiting for Li Jianjun's signal—once Gu Nan was "drunk" and passed out, she would make her appearance, and with a good cry, she would ensure that this Gu fellow was utterly disgraced.

Li Jianjun stared intently at the half-empty glass of baijiu in front of Gu Nan. The clear liquid gleamed coldly under the light, like a piece of ice that hadn't been warmed up. He muttered to himself, "This kid is young and looks strong. He probably has a high alcohol tolerance. I have to find a way to get him to drink a few more glasses, otherwise how will he get drunk?" He put on a warm smile, his wrinkles at the corners of his eyes crinkling up. He picked up the bottle of Erguotou on the table and filled Gu Nan's glass again. The liquor gurgled against the glass, creating a ring of fine foam, and two drops trickled down the rim.

Gu Nan observed all of this, his fingertips gently tracing the cool rim of his glass. He knew perfectly well what Li Jianjun was up to—even a three-year-old could see through his intentions. Li Jianjun simply wanted to get him drunk so he could take advantage of the situation and do something shady. Without making a sound, he picked up his glass, swirled the liquor inside, and smelled the strong aroma of alcohol.

"Gu Nan, I'm not saying anything more!" Li Jianjun suddenly raised his glass, his face shaking with laughter, his tone revealing a deliberately crafted boldness. "Whatever grudges we had in the past, let me apologize to you today, it's all in this drink! Cheers!"

Gu Nan smiled, raised his hand, and lightly clinked his glass against Li Jianjun's, a crisp "tinkle" echoing in the private room. In that instant, his fingertips twitched almost imperceptibly—using the cover of the clinking rims, he silently slipped the half-full glass of laced liquor in Li Jianjun's glass into his personal storage space; meanwhile, his own clean glass was smoothly transferred to Li Jianjun's. All of this happened in the blink of an eye, so fast that not even a ripple appeared in the air, let alone be noticed by someone like Li Jianjun, whose mind was entirely focused on getting him drunk.

Li Jianjun was still planning to signal Lili as soon as Gu Nan got drunk and his eyes started to wander. He didn't think much about anything else, picked up the glass and gulped it down in two gulps. He even smacked his lips, licked the corner of his mouth, and stared intently at Gu Nan, waiting to see him get dizzy and disoriented.

Without hesitation, Gu Nan picked up the empty glass, tilted his head back as if to drink it all in one gulp, but in reality, he had already used the tilting motion to send the last bit of wine at the bottom of the glass into his spatial dimension. When he put down the glass, he deliberately loosened his collar, his face intentionally flushed an unnatural red, his eyes feigned a dazed look, and even his speech became slightly slurred—all to make Li Jianjun think he was about to get drunk, so he could see what kind of filthy plan this kid had painstakingly set up.

Sure enough, before Gu Nan could say "This alcohol is really strong," Li Jianjun suddenly shook his head, his eyes instantly becoming unfocused, as if veiled in a white mist, and he mumbled incoherently, "Why am I so dizzy... Something's wrong..."
