Chapter 41 Battle Nun

Chapter 41 Battle Nun

"That's one of the most fortified fortresses in Kadia, the Kraf Bastion. A retreat order has been issued, and all mobile troops are converging on the Kraf Bastion."

"There is a complete defense system, ample ammunition reserves, and sufficiently strong walls. As long as we can concentrate enough troops there, there is still hope of holding it."

Jill turned around and looked directly into Qin Mo's eyes.

"Brother Qin Mo, I know you have your own goals and plans. But I'd still like to shamelessly ask if you could help control that Dreadnought and bring it with us to Kraf Bastion?"

"Your... Heroic Warriors—" Jill hesitated for a moment, then used "Heroic Warriors" to refer to the undead power armor.

"And those Titans, if brought to Kraf Bastion, will greatly enhance our defenses. And—"

"If Chaos intends to breach Kadia, Kraf Bastion will be an insurmountable obstacle. They will undoubtedly concentrate their forces to launch a fierce attack there."

Upon hearing this, Qin Mo thoughtfully stroked his chin.

Concentrate forces for a fierce attack?

Isn't this a merit delivered right to our doorstep?

His previous strategy was to sweep through one position at a time. Although his merits were increasing, the efficiency was ultimately limited.

If what Jill said is true, then the Chaos forces will concentrate their forces to launch a fierce attack on Kraf Bastion.

That's like setting up a big net and waiting for the fish to swim in.

He can catch them all at once.

Qin Mo's lips curled up slightly.

"Can."

A hint of joy flashed in Jill's eyes: "Brother Qin Mo—"

"However," Qin Mo held up one finger, "if we encounter any chaotic forces along the way, I'll take care of them."

"Of course!" Jill immediately patted her chest. "Taking down Chaos along the way is also one of our Space Wolves' objectives."

Broad let out a hearty laugh from the side:

"Little Gil is right! If we don't punch any of those chaotic scum we see on the road, what kind of Space Wolf are we? We should just rename them Space Sheep!"

Several blood claws laughed along.

The atmosphere became much more relaxed.

So, the group packed up and set off.

Qin Mo rode the black cloud ahead, clearing the way. Of course, the black cloud was now covered by the special effect of the "Pseudo-Human Emperor Flag". It no longer looked like a dark cloud with surging yin energy, but a lucky cloud with a faint golden halo.

The Space Wolves followed behind, with Brod walking alongside them. Freed from the constraints of his Dreadnought, this veteran walked with a powerful stride.

Jill gave him a chainsaw sword and a bomb gun, which, while not as handy as the standard equipment of the Space Wolf, were enough for a veteran who had been given a new lease on life.

Titan brought up the rear.

After marching for about an hour, they heard bursts of gunfire and explosions in the distance.

Qin Mo stopped on the auspicious cloud and gazed into the distance.

About three kilometers ahead, there is a sizable complex of buildings with Gothic spires soaring into the clouds. The stained glass windows were shattered in the war, but the main structure still stands.

It was a temple, and judging from its architectural style and scale, it should be one of the important pilgrimage sites of the imperial state religion.

A fierce battle is taking place in the main square of the temple.

Qin Mo had excellent eyesight, and he could clearly see the composition of the temple's guards.

They were a group of women.

A group of women dressed in black power armor and white robes.

Armed with bolt-action rifles, chainsaw swords, and flamethrowers, they constructed lines of defense amidst the ruins before the temple.

Hymns emanated from their ranks, not the "pseudo-hymn effects" of Qin Mo's Myriad Soul Banner, but genuine imperial battle hymns sung by human voices.

They sang loudly while unleashing a barrage of fire on the enemy.

Whenever a sister falls, those around her chant even louder, as if using song to bid farewell to their fallen comrade, and at the same time to strengthen their own will to continue fighting.

Just as Qin Mo was observing these female warriors, a system notification sounded in his mind.

[Ding—New faction detected: Battle Nun. Encyclopedia entry unlocked.]

Battle Sisters—the core component of the Imperial State Religion's armed forces. Composed entirely of human women. They possess no genetic modification, no superhuman blood, and no biological enhancements—only standard equipment and an unwavering fervor for the Emperor.

Compared to Space Marines, Battle Sisters are physically only of mortal caliber, yet their combat prowess is in no way inferior. The reason is simple: faith.

The Battle Sisters' fervent faith in the Emperor is unparalleled among humankind. They believe the Emperor is always watching over them, that his holy light can protect them, and that dying for the Emperor is the highest honor. This faith, when it reaches a certain intensity, can even produce tangible supernatural effects.

Historical records show that battle nuns repeatedly triggered acts of faith in dire situations—surviving fatal attacks unscathed, continuing to fight even when they should have died, and some nuns even unleashed a power of faith strong enough to incinerate large demons before their deaths.

[Additional Note: The equipment level of the Battle Sisters is equivalent to that of an elite Astral Army soldier. Their power armor's protection level is slightly lower than that of the Space Marine's MK model, but far exceeds that of ordinary human armor.]

[The weaponry is extensive—it includes bolters, flamethrowers, molten guns, and heavy bolters. In addition, the Sisters' Order possesses its own tanks, aircraft, and specialized units.]

[Note: They have zero tolerance for heresy. It is recommended that the host keep the "Pseudo-Human Emperor's Flag" effect active throughout any contact. Remember this!]

Qin Mo finished reading the illustration and raised an eyebrow with great interest.

Fighting a war based on faith?

interesting.

He extended his divine sense and carefully sensed the fighting nuns.

really.

The power of faith is extremely strong.

It was much stronger than what he sensed from the Space Wolf. Although the Space Wolf's respect and love for the Emperor was sincere, it ultimately carried the arrogance of Fenris culture, which was characterized by "neither kneeling to heaven nor to earth."

These nuns' faith was pure, fervent, and unreserved, burning like a raging fire deep within their souls.

Each nun's soul is shrouded in a faint golden hue, a natural imprint that arises when faith reaches a certain level.

Qin Mo silently calculated in his mind.

This level of faith power, if it could cause their faith to... deviate slightly in direction.

Then these powers of faith will be transformed into a continuous stream of merit points every moment.

Qin Mo stroked his chin.

Ok.

The merit of walking.

[Host, please be mindful of your wording. You are "saving" them, not "harvesting" them.]

"...It means the same thing." Qin Mo replied calmly to himself.
